Re: Elves of Light - first impressions
Protectors of the Flame being 5-15 annoys me. Nice that they added S4 though. I suppose I might move more to MSU, especially with Sword Masters being cheaper. Otherwise Queen's Guard seem like a no-brainer choice now; I probably won't be taking bolt throwers any more (I was torn on which was better ...

Re: MSU HE - 9th Age - 2400 vs DE - 10.09
I was actually watching at that point, so I saw the Swordmasters just had line of sight. :P I was meaning the other Swordmasters really though (who were quite clearly in line of sight - perhaps a slightly long charge though, since Marchosias didn't seem concerned about this?). Turn five I was surpri...

Re: The Struggle For Glory - Army Lists and Battle Reports
Ele, you're standing on your head, it's Autumn. ;) And no, not music, but Taekwondo yes. It's a good point actually that I could make do with giving another character magic resistance, allowing me to still take the Giant Blade. I was also thinking I might give the BSB the Banner of the World Dragon....

Page 88, second column. 'If a warrior is fighting with a hand weapon and a shield, then he has a 6+ ward save'. Further down - '...nor can it be used by mounted models'. So parry saves are ward saves, but only used in combat. Concerning multiple ward saves, see page 44 - 'If a model has more than on...

Re: MSU HE - 9th Age - 2400 vs DE - Turn 4
I haven't read the other comments yet so I'm sorry if I'm repeating something. Turn one I wonder if you could have been more aggressive with the Dragon Princes here. It looks like you could use the impassable terrain to shield them from the Sorceress's view and you could probably beat Dark Riders if...

Re: The Struggle For Glory - Army Lists and Battle Reports
You're a lot better than me, Swordmaster. :) I never think about half of what you suggest. It is true that being forced to look back over the game to make a report sufficiently detailed is very useful for learning where one went wrong and how the game could have been played better. Still, your ideas...

Re: Segway to Hell
I don't know about gifts or Daemons characters in general, but it looks like you'll have a hard time here. You have enough 'soft' targets which he can shoot down and then win by just avoiding the Plaguebearers and Beasts. The Daemon Prince is clearly a good target for Hagbane, but I assume you'll ha...

Re: 9th Age discussion and suggestions topic
They look like nice Honours rules, but how would the different characters (Handmaidens, Loremasters etc.) fit in this system? Would they be removed? I see you've quoted which characters fit which honour, so does this mean they are removed, including the special characters? Would there be points valu...

Re: The Struggle For Glory - Army Lists and Battle Reports
This game was another against Elo, with the same lists on both sides. I’d done a bit of thinking between games, so I had a few ideas of what to do differently. I apologise for forgetting to save the chat from this game, so I don’t know the details of magic or shooting. I’ll try to work out as much a...

Re: The Struggle For Glory - Army Lists and Battle Reports
Thanks for the comments! As usual, your detailed advice is very welcome, Swordmaster. :) Ele, 9th Age does look good. It even seems that it'll make a chariot prince much more viable. :P I'll have to make a list when the beta comes out. Swordmaster, Skaven game I am playing a lot! It's been my summer...

This looks like it should be an interesting game. Two elven MSU armies! :) Although I know the result, I wasn't watching for most of the game so it'll still be interesting to see how you got to that result. His list looks stronger, I'd say, given his superior shooting which could do terrible damage ...

The end of free army books...already?
With the release of the new Stormcast Eternals book, which apparently contains all their warscrolls and the full AoS rules, the free downloadable Stormcast Eternals rules seem to have disappeared from the GW website (as do the Bloodbound rules, or whatever they're called). Does this mean GW are phas...

Re: The Struggle For Glory - Army Lists and Battle Reports
Hi Ele, haven't heard from you for ages. Has the End Times and Age of Sigmarines made you more of a lurker? :) It's indeed a tough list. This was fought on UB and Elo's from Germany. I really have no idea what the meta's like locally. I only used to get 'real' games when I went to my local GW store ...

Re: MSU HE - 9th Age - 2400 vs WE - 2.09
I don't think I'll be taking a pure Wild Hunt again because as you say it has the disadvantage of no BSB and also it's very short of bodies. The problem is that Orion's so expensive, taking up a quarter of my points! Hopefully when the 9th Age team get around to Wood Elves they'll fix this.

Re: The Struggle For Glory - Army Lists and Battle Reports
I had the opportunity to play against Elo, the Beastmen player from my game two of the tournament, on Tuesday, although this time he took a very tough Wood Elves list. 2400pts vs Wood Elves Lists High Elves Prince, Barded Elven Steed, Heavy Armour, Shield, Giant Blade, Dragonhelm, Dawnstone, Potion ...

Thanks for this, there are some useful points here. I think it would make a perfectly good finished article if you just add the pictures you've noted down and remove the notes to yourself. Decades of fluff and hundred-pound collections

This was too funny not to share:
They love us! That's why they made Age of Sigmar, because they really care about us! I'm so glad they know what's best for us.

Thanks for the game Swordmaster and for spending so much time writing the report. It helps to look back over the game and see what I could have done better (quite a lot!). I might be imagining this, but did one of the reavers' steeds kill the wild rider in the last turn? As I say, that could be my i...

Re: 9th Age discussion and suggestions topic
Is it that important? :P Either remove magic banners from the cores of all other armies, or give all of our core (except maybe reavers, but then again glade riders can have magic banners) the option. Far more important is balancing the phoenixes (I like the idea of the Flamespyre doing damage on the...

Something else to note is that Light Troops (Fast Cavalry etc.) only get +1S from spears on the charge.
I've just been checking the rules and it seems that Orion doesn't have Swiftstride. You can tell I've never used him before.Swordmaster of Hoeth wrote:@ ElithmarYour rolled triple 6 for that charge

The really stupid thing here was charging the eagle and glade riders before Orion, who actually rolled high enough to reach the dragon princes.
