Sniper Maneaters can have Poison too, which makes those 6's count.

30" poison is great but bear in mind those skinks get two shots each and are much cheaper.

@ Ether Dude - interesting insight and I agree with most of the things. But I believe every WE army should get a waystalker as it gives a huge tactical threat - taking out mages will make a dent in the opponents magical abilities.
Ether Dude wrote:-They don't like being shot at. Previously, waywatcher cloaks kept the WE relatively safe from return fire. No longer. Since the army is so fluid, the BSB is rarely in range of everything that might take a panic check. This can significantly reduce the WE firepower with minimal investment.

-No penalty arrows are fun. Sitting a unit of 40 glade guard in a wood with a unit of 10 dryads in front of them grants, -3 to -5 to hit with BS shooting while they hit the world on 3s with AP. This is statistically better than the old book at long range and around 12% less effective at close range compared to said book. Very cool. This and poison will be pretty common.
Good calls on this
Ether Dude wrote:- 5 Wild riders put out more pain on the charge than do 3 skull crushers.

-War dancers continue to be excellent, exactly the same as last book but with a better ward, cheaper, and more disposable.

-Shadow magic is popular atm, but I expect heavens, death and metal to become more so as time progresses.

-Units do the work, characters wave pom-poms. This is why I love the WE. They don't rely on make way to deny you attacks nor do they stomp the world with invincible flying characters nor can their casters blow a crater into this little moon. They shoot, they dodge and when the time is right, they pounce.
Totally agree with you on this
Ether Dude wrote: -Eternal guard are the best unit in warhammer. Hands down. Too bad they don't have the character selection to back them up. They will wipe the floor with white lions, phoenix guard and sword masters (if engaging in a forest).

-Warhawk riders are awesome. Once waywatchers get comped (armorhammer doesn't like being made bad), expect to see some of these floating around.
Big calls on the EG .... yes they are probably one of the best statistical units BUT they still suffer from S3.

Also WHR...not sure they are still very soft and easy to counter.

Q: Would trueflight arrows (or other arrows) work with Banner of Eternal Flame?

But I thought magical weapons (i.e arrows) don't work with the banner?

The Arrows are enchanted items not magic weapons. ;J

Flaming BRB pg 69 "any spells cast by the model are unaffected, as are any attacks made with magic weapons they might be weilding"

Enchanted Arrows WE pg 37 "All shooting attacks made with enchanted arrows count as having been made with magic weapons"

In other words Enchanter Arrows are both Enchanted Items and Magic Weapons.

Yay for simple rules.

No they count as having been shot from a Magic Weapon, because the arrow themselves are magical. So they are just Enchanted Items, not Magic Weapons.

Apparantly magical items don't burn well, so if you really want to wrap your head around it, consider the arrows themselves to be incapable of being ignited, in the same way as any Magical Weapons (like magic swords) are incapable of burning.
