HE Tournament Results

Hi all, yes this was a more local tourney -

No Mort Cults, only one heroism duke, no vamp screams, only one WoC with double spawn (and he ran chosen knights and warriors in core) means HE had a lot of room to run around. Essentially me n Ivan camped the top tables until I threw game 3 against him because I got greedy, and then he played excellently to win the tourney . He’s also part of our Delihammer crew in Hayward.

I got lucky in my last game, had the enemy dragon roll a flee after my hw did a singular wound. Was quite a swing.

David did very well to extract as much BP from the middle tables as he could and was able to snatch best general - I literally lost it by one.

I saw the final placings were all separated by a handful of points, so looks like it was close! Very exciting gameplay. Counter to my experience last weekend, where I went to an event that was dominated by Warriors and they took the top 3 spots (and two more in the top 10). Just depends on what people take on the day!

Interesting to have the Razor Banner on the block of 20 SM. Most people probably would not opt for this, but it gives some extra bite against units not affected by cleaving blow.

I find it more curious to not see drilled on the SM. I thought that rule to be very valuable to increase their movement options and wonder what the idea was begind leaving it out.

I personally don't think the list was maxed out in a competitive sense (which makes it even more impressive that he did so well).
There's also a banner of ellyrion on the silver helms (granting them essentially 50% of a rule since they already have the other half) for example. If you look at David's (2nd) strength of schedule and the matchups he had his placements make a lot more sense. Me, in 3rd place, literally had 50% more Strength of Schedule Battle Points than he did. Sometimes the format just messes with you that way. If there was a 6th round the podium would very likely shift.
