Facing dwarfs with a friendly list at 1500p

Going to face dwarfs on sunday and promised to bring an army of Infamy.
The Standard bearer and general goes with either the spears or the Lion guards, the Storm Weaver with the archers.
A problem is that I might not be able to finish the woodsmen in time.

I think the list is fine. Nothing overpowered or especially strong or broken, but that isn't the point.

One thing I'm wondering about is the Noble general. I'm not sure he brings a lot to the table. I mean, he's also another White Lion Chariot, or something like 8WL. And I think those might offer you a few more options. He does bring LD9, but so does your pure of heart BSB. Now if he was on top of a WLC, then that would be something else of course...

I am curious about the Lion Guard and if they're actually worth the upgrade. They do seem better on paper of course, but they're still T3, strike last infantry. Though I guess that might matter less vs dwarves.

With that said, the list is fine. Especially at 1500pts. Let us know how it performed.

Depends on what the dwarfs bring. I played a practice game today for a slow grow league where our league game is for 1.5k points.
I faced T10 Anvil of Doom (general), Machine gun thane build, that is also bsb with Master rune of Grungi, runesmith with 2x runes of spell breaking. 18 Longbeards, 12 Iron drakes with troll hammer/cinderblast bombs champ, 12 quarrellers with GW and shields. my rolls were not good, but in a nutshell I got shot to smithereens, and the longbeards are tough to kill. With MR2 and 5+ ward save they are tough to kill.
The killing power of the machine gun thane is devastating against T3 elves, try to make sure you use your sisters in a position they can use evasive favourably. The Thane does not suffer penalties so sisters can die very easily to him. Walk between Worlds may be very useful against Dwarf ranged attacks in general.

That is an excelent reason to bring him. With that in mind, I think statistically 2 times opal amulet is better than 1 opal amulet and 1 seed of rebirth. The 2 amulets basically give your noble 2 extra wounds, while with only 2 wounds (or 3 if you count the amulet), the odds of making that 5+ aren't great. It's a bit more cheesy though.

Well, I got soundly beaten in first a 500 point and in the following 1500 point game.
In the 500 point I faced an Engineer expeditionary force and got shot to pieces. I only brought 5 Sisters for shooting, 14 spears and 10 White lions and a noble.

The spears got shot at and then beaten by 8 rangers in hand to hand to hand, fled and got run down. The Sisters lost 4 of their number to shooting and maybe killen one in return.
The once actually doing some killing was the White lions and the noble. They killed a unit of warriors before they got shot.

The 1500 point was against a Royal clan list. The Sisters did better but I should have been more focused with them. Then they might have taken down his crossbows.
He had a bunker unit of warriors with all his heroes in it. 5+ ward on it and 6+ on neighbouring units. I avoided that one but he had 5 firedrakes and a bolt thrower on a hill that dished out hurt.
I was a bit careless and he was lucky and charged my chariot with a unit of great weapon warriors. Not good. Then he had a stroke of luck and his doomseeker made a long charge and just hit my lion guards in the flank.

I had counted on my Woodsmen to kill him in time. They almost did. It was ugly. But the next turn the woodsmen charged in to help the Lion guard and axed the angry dwarf.

The lion guard got plenty of shooting attention but they got to charge the drakes together with the general and smash them. Then there was only two guards and the general standing.

The spears managed to hold of the great weapon dwarfs for a while thanks to BSB and static combat res. But the spears inability to actually kill them and them hating the BSB meant they won in the end.

I cannot really say if the Lion guard was worth it since they did not really get to fight. But they would most likely have pasted the great weapon dwarfs and my friend was really worried about them.
The woodsmen did good as support. Really good.

But all in all we deemed that the chracian great blades, on any unit, were really scary to dwarfs.
