They look fantastic - very imposing.

The head swap on the Shadow Warriors works well too, although of course I disapprove of them consorting with Druchii!

I agree. The headswap on the shadow warrior models works really well. They fit the models better then the original helmets in my opinion.

It's shaping up to be a pretty stunning looking army. :)

Thanks my dude. Yeah, looking forward to having it all done for WetCoast.

Played vs OBR last night

He had
Petrifex Elite
Vokmortion
Soulreaper
Boneshaper
3 x 10 Mortek Guard
3 Stalkers
3 Immortis Guard
4 Morghast Archai
Harvester
Nexus
Aegis Immortal

He rolled Scenario (using the RoseCity Wrath pack) and got duality in death....We both had 7 drops but I won the roll off, so took 1st turn.

It was kinda over at this point lol. Gotrek got a 5 and ran to within 3 of the Objective with his team behind. Morathi stayed small to get some spells out (since he had no threats to really get near her on that flank) with the cauldron running to the point also.

He runs forwards and doesnt do much.

I won turn 2, so the double he needed didnt happen. Gotrek sat still taunting him, while the snakes ran around to try and take out the Soulreaper and Boneshaper. Gemnids went off and hit his right flank, reducing the morteks -1 to hit and -1 attack for the harvesters and characters.

Snakes ran in and sadly didnt kill either character, and lost 4 in return (without buffs they really are average) With the cauldron (now mindrazored and witchbrewed) Chewed out 10 Mortreks.

his turn 2 His Archai killed Gotreks support SOS, with the Immortis charging gotrek (and dying for 2 wounds on him)

his right flank finished off the snakes but he lost 10 more mortek vs cauldron.

Turn 3 saw me get priority again, and Morathi transformed and flew into the right flanks. Morathi killed the Crawler and Reaper, leaving just the soulmason.

We called it at this point, as I ended turn 3 with 12VPs to his 0, And he would have to kill both Gotrek and the Cauldron (still on 12 wounds) to get a draw

Definitely this. I love how it looks.

I think your game shows that you really need to play the scenario, and not just run around a bit. Of course, with the hitting power you have, getting you away from the objective would have been very painful. But his list seemed to lack both a ranged threat to make you hesitate to take the objective and a serious combat punch which could have dislodged you from the objective.

Of course, you going first 3 turns in a row didn't really help things.

Cheers, Yeah makes a big difference when you have two painted armies. Sadly was a GW modular board so not the best to play on and scenery was limited lol

I will have a table sorted at my place again soon which will be good, and I am going to RoseCity Wrath (42 player tournament in Portland) a week Sat.

The armys is tight to play and I have to be mindful of Scenarios the whole time. Now, luckily, 2 of the missions are knife to the heart and duality & death. Both of these favour Morathi/Gotrek.

I just dropped Gemnids for a command point. Gives me more options to run Gotrek if needs be as Gemnids could bite be in the ass/not be used match up dependent

So Unfortunately with the CoronaVirus I can:

A: Not Travel to RoseCity Wrath next weekend
B: WetCoastGT got cancelled
C: Attack X changed their weekend by a week so its now on a weekend I cant do.

Oh well lol.

I MIGHT be able to make OFCC in July, and then Kippers in October, but the Virus is kinda knocking out any gaming opportunities right now.

Painting time i guess?

Looking at starting to sort games again next month, because local COVID19 is pretty low in BC.

The list im looking at is a mixed arms DOK. I wanna be able to act in the shooting phase to try and damage support models (Fecking Skaven engineers)

Its a 3 tower list, so there is like 860pts in Characters but 3 are very durable.

Its 10 drops (which i dont mind going 1st or 2nd)

Hagg Nar
Slaughter Queen on Cauldron of Blood (devoted Disciples, Blessing of khaine)
Bloodwrack Shrine (Shadowstone, mindrazor)
Bloodwrack Shrine (The withering)
Hag Queen (Catachism of murder)
3 x 10 Sisters of Slaughter (Bucklers)
20 Blood Sisters
3 Scourge Runner Chariots
10 Shadow Warriors
Prismatic Palisade

Very mobile, has a lot of mortal wound output and has some ranged to snipe at stuff.

3 dispels, and has 2 spells. Withering can be good with the shooting as makes target enemy easier to wound by 1.

I have also been looking at Lumanith Realm lords as a second army, which I am still going to do to resurrect my old high elves, but tbh they are not great. Feels like half an army (which it is since Tryrion is constantly mentioned but not in the army)

The finished DOK list before the end of GBH2019 lol

Never got to play it sadly.

Gotta see what options I have for GHB2020. Celestant Prime (now a tasty 300 from 340) could be coming into the list as Chariots went up

looking great. There's a lot of movement in the army (at least, it looks like there is :) )

What's the blue-ish grey thing behind the lion chariots?

Its an endless spell (https://www.games-workshop.com/resource ... lisade.pdf)

I had some points left and its the only one I could afford or just have spare points.

I picked up a Celestant Prime to add in the army, as I am changing it up for the GHB2020

Also, one of the scenarios now has to have core units to cap them, this means my only 3x10 Battleline might stuggle. To counter this, I have made the medusa general, so the snakes are now battleline, and made one of the units of sisters of slaughter into 30.

Finally, I dropped the shadow warriors and chariots. Chariots went from 60 - 80pts each in gbh2020. Since I wanted to use them to take out distance targets, I went for a prime (as they dropped from 340 to 300) as its probably more reliable to kill that thing I cannot reach.

new list looks like:

HagNarr

Hagg Nar
Hag Queen on Cauldron of Blood (Blessing of khaine) (290)
Bloodwrack Shrine (Shadowstone, mindrazor) - General, devoted Disciples (210)
Bloodwrack Shrine (The withering) (210)
Celestant Prime (300)
30 Sisters of Slaughter (Bucklers) (300)
20 Blood Sisters (480)
10 Witch Aelves (daggers) (120)

Gives me 7 drops and 90pts spare.

For the 90, I am thinking of 5 Heartrenders for dropping on obj late game or helping take down a target with the Prime.

I am going to see what else I can get for 90pts though, as 5 Liberators for 90pts which can just sit on an Obj could be good also

So did a mini event (3 games) today which was great to be outside and playing some AOS again. (I won 205/210pts)

I used my triple tower list I had been wanting to use:

Hagg Nar
Hag Queen on Cauldron of Blood (Blessing of khaine) (290)
Bloodwrack Shrine (Shadowstone, mindrazor) - General, devoted Disciples (210)
Bloodwrack Shrine (The withering) (210)
Celestant Prime (300)
30 Sisters of Slaughter (Bucklers) (300)
20 Blood Sisters (480)
10 Witch Aelves (daggers) (120)
5 Khinari Heartrenders

Game 1: total conquest

I was against COS – Living city

Drycha
Knight incantor
Hurricanenum
Runelord
10 Longbeards
10 Warriors
20 Sisters of the watch
20 Irondrakes
6 Kurnoth Hunters with Scythes

(cant remember what else)

Solid win by turn 5 with both objectives. Only had 6 sisters of slaughter and both shrines left for his army

Game 2: Blades edge

COS – Tempest Eye
Assassin
Knight Incantor
Celestial Hurricanum with Celestial Battlemage
Celestant Prime
30 Crossbowmen
2 x 10 Freeguild Handgunners
20 Freeguild guard (swords)
20 Freeguild guard (halberds)
10 Shadow Warriors
10 Shadow Warriors
Not sure what else

He got the doubt turn 1 into 2 and took off my cauldron with shooting. This put the pressure on but Imaged to swing it back around. End of game had 2 Blood sisters and the 2nd Shirne with 7 wounds vs Just his assassin left on the board

Game 3: Shifting obj

Big waaagh
Boss on Cabbage
Drummer hero
drummer hero
Shamen
2 x 3 Gruntas
2 x 10 Biguns
15 Biguns

Not sure how his list details, but he hand of gorked his unit of 15 buffed Bigunsz to behind my army and then failed to charge. I just ran forwards and smashed into his army (20 blood sisters with Mind Razor and Witch brew = bye bye 2 x 10 Big uns_

Tabled his army by turn 4 and had most of mine left

I know this is mostly vague but I am tired lol. If a particular game is of interest I can say longer.

Pro and cons:

Tripple twoer was fun. 2 shrines pack a punch.

Hag on cauldron didn’t do much all event bar buffs. Only having the 1 buff is a shame but would have to drop something to get another hag (and tbh Id only want the new character one)

The prime was fun. Games 1 and 2 I held him till turn 3 and he had some big impact. Game 3 however I dropped him turn 2 (in hindsite a bad bad move) into the Cabbage. As I wanted my buffed snakes to kill his biguns they went first, which meant the cabbage one shot the prime. Ouch...

The Witch Aelves were Meh for 10. Buckelrs would have been better or tbh 10 Sisters of slaughter

The sisters of slaughter and Blood Sisters were great as usual

The heartrenders....Were shit lol.

Game 1 they dropped down to make space for the prime and failed.
game 2 they dropped down, failed to hit any  of the 10 handgunners on the flank with shooting then died in combat to them

Game 3 dropped and failed to wound the drummer hero dude, then ran other, failed to wound 1 remaining gore grunta in shooting and combat and died.

Waste of 90pts and a drop lol.

So Ideas?

One is the same list and just replace Heartrenders for anything else for 90pts lol. Or take an endless spell for the 2nd Medusa.

Another could be to drop the 2nd shrine/heart renders and free up 160pts, either 10 more Sisters of slaughter for my unit of 10 (changed from witchaleves) or 5 Doomfire warlocks, but having the heroes on 13W is really good.

Maybe another option over the Prime? Would give me 390pts (could make the 2nd unit of SOS into 30 and take the 140pt Hag Hero)

I am not sure atm, I feel I want more bodies but its where to get the bodies is tough

New list I am going to try. Based around my one from the 1 dayer but with some tweeks.

Hagg Nar
Hag Queen on Cauldron of Blood (Blessing of khaine) (290)
Bloodwrack Shrine (Shadowstone, mindrazor) - General, devoted Disciples (210)
Morgwaeth Blade-coven, Crimson Rejuvenation: 140 (to keep Shrine/Cauldron going)
Celestant Prime (300) (Deal with backline shooters/target Sisters cant get to)
30 Sisters of Slaughter (Bucklers) (300)
20 Blood Sisters (480)
5 Blood sisters (140) (I went with 5 sisters over 10 WE. They have better save/same wounds and have better attack output if on their own)
5 Doomfire Warlocks (Steed of shadows) (140) Still not sure this over a 2nd MEdusa. I love the medusa attacks but usually wont take effect until turn 2/3. I like the 2nd Shrine but I just cant fit it in. Warlocks can be a fast backline unit or sneaky obj stealer with steed of shadows)

9 Drops (as I think Morgwaeth counts a 2)
2 Casts, 2 dispels. 2 witch brews. 2 prayers

So its been since Sept since I painted any DOK. had a little break as I was bummed with Covid and no events or even games atm

The new Morathi-Khaine is awesome, and with DOK getting a new book and endless spells in Feb I am pretty hyped to get something going when the book comes out.

I got my 1st unit of Khainite Shadowstalkers done, and about to start my second as they are great little units

The aesthetic of the DoK in AoS is by far my favorite ! And the Shadowstalkers look so badass with these capes. You did a great job on them.

I agree. They look great. They're very dynamic models and you've given them a lot of depth. Great job.
wamphyri101 wrote: The new Endless spells look amazing!
Agreed. Though I'm not a big fan of the blood on the snake. But that might be because that makes it harder to use the model for another purpose. There's probably a lot of hacking and greenstuff involved if you want to turn it into a normal snake (or even a small dragon).

With the new book this weekend I am looking forward to trying to get some games in (Covid willing)

Not been able to play in Months! Kinda got stuck into playing Cyberpunk 2077 and now Valheim lol

This is what i am looking at atm:

HagNarr
BloodWrack Shrine: 160 General, Mindrazor, Ulfuri (Hagnar item givves +1 damage to spear for D3+1)
BloodWrack Shrine: 160 MirrorDance
SlaughterQueen on Cauldron: 270 Blessing of Khaine, Iron Circlet
Morgwaerth The bloodied: 80 Crimson Rejuvenation
BladeCoven: 0
15 Bloodsisters: 390
5 Blood Stalkers: 140
5 Blood Stalkers: 140
5 Khinari Lifetakers: 80
5 Khinari Lifetakers: 80
Avatar of Khaine: 130
9 Khainite Shadowstalkers: 100
Heart of Fury: 80
Bloodwrack Viper: 40
Scathcoven: 140
1990pts 2 Casts, 5 dispels, 7 drops, 130W

depending on play, might drop Morgwaerth and Heart for making both Khinari units of 10 and having the snakes in 3x5

Main idea is sisters in front, cauldrons flanked by shrines behind and then flanked by Stalkers

Stalkers to clear chaff/target heroes . Shadowstalkers/khinari hit targets of opertunity

Set up center Obj with the sisters, Heart, cauldron and general as the main anvil line

Had my 1st game of new book and 2021 yesterday

I ran the above list and he had:

Blades of Khorne
Exhaulted Tyrants - The bloodlords
Bloodthrister of insensate rage: general, thirst of carnage - 270
Bloodthrister of insensate rage: Halo of Blood - 270
Exalted Greater Daemon of Khorne: armour of scorn - 520
Skarbrand: 380
Slaughterpriest: Blood Sacrifice - 100
3 x 10 Bloodreavers
Tyrants of blood
Wrath-axe
Extra command point

We played Focal Points. He had 5 drops to my 7, so he took 1st turn.

Image

BOK turn 1. (Middle primary obj)
So I knew he would be trying to Alpha as much as possible as he can run and charge, so I set back off the 12inch line (I think i was around 8.5 on). He didnt check this, so ran forwards as far as possible and didnt screen this thirsters as he thought he could charge them. It was in the charge phase he realized his mistake as they were min 13 away. He did cap 6pts.

DOK turn 1:

Tried to cast mirror dance but failed, though I got mindrazor off on the sisters. I also got my avatars going ok and put blessing of khaine on the sisters. I did make a mistake and forgot the changes in witchbrew (now wholly within) and got the heart off so it was going to cover half the obj and combat with Blood thirsters.

I moved up my force with some khinari coming down onto left flank to block up Skarbarn a little and the shadowstalkers heading to contest the right obj.

Shooting took some wounds off the middle left Bloodthrister of insensate rage, while the rest killed off some of the reavers to allow me to cap the points uncontested. (the blade covern blood stalker got double 6's both times she shot, so going to need a name for her lol)

Combat saw me wipe the center out with the loss off 4 snakes total (He had the ability that allows him to attack as if no wounds. He made a mistake though and his exalted greater daemon was actually killed before he could attack as is miss calculated by 10 wounds but we didnt know till after the game)

I capped 4pts and rolled for obj which moved to the left flank. He won the roll off and took it

BOK turn 2:
SKarbrand moved to charge in and he failed to cast wrathaxe. The exalted retreated and went back a bit. His 2nd insensate rage BT charged into the snakes flank. And Skarbrand hit the khianri (3 of which dead from his shooting attack) and moved to clip the non general shrine, which he did 7 wounds to. The insensate rage BT killed 2 snakes, and died to fight back (as Crystal touch just can do so many mortal wounds)

He capped 1pt

DOK turn 2:
Mindrazor and Bloodsnake both failed to cast but I got witchbrew onto the Avatar and blessing on the sisters again. 2nd unit of Khinari flew onto left obj with the 2 remaining Khinari retreating to it also. sisters moved up on both flanks with the Shadowstalkers moving to take the right reavers.

Shooting saw 4 reavers die, and the Exalted finished off. Also chipped some wounds off Skarbrand.

Charges saw the sisters and Khinari charge forwards and the shadowstalkers engaged the reavers. Avatar charged Skarbrand

Combat saw the slaughter priest and all remainind reavers die and Skarbrand fell also. We called the game there really

That's an imposing pile of dice Wamphyri. Is it usual for a foe to bring as many big guys as here?

No, not really. Only Slaanesh and Khorne can really do it, and tbh it isnt the best way to go. I think 2 Bloodthirsters max is enough and the forgeworld exalted on is not worth it for the 530 points he is. Scarbrand isnt really worth it either as he technically doesnt have fly in game (fallen bloodthirster)

The reason he took 4 is the battalion ability requires multiple Bloodthirsters, and lets them attack one after eachother. It can be brutal if the 4 of them charge something but I didnt give him that chance
