White Lions

#1 Post by Silver »

Display the fierce White Lions, be they on foot or on a chariot or perhaps even on a white lion (though those might count as Dragon Princes~ hmm!)
Show your assembly, your painting, your WIP, give your tips and techniques.

I didn't like the short skirts the White Lions had, and seeing as though I had plenty of Phoenix Guard legs(thanks to the Dragon Prince conversion project), I used them instead.
The unit isn't as dynamic as the normal guys but looks more serious:

My White Lions
Main colors are Ultramarines Blue shaded with regal Blue, highlighted with Calgar Blue and the cloaks are Dheneb Stone with a Devlan Mud wash followed by a Dheneb Stone highlight and Ceramite White highlight.
I would highly recommend painting these in subassemblys. I glued the feet to the bases so that they are running directly forwards, the front to the back of the torsos, the left hands to the axes. All the rest of the assembling was done after I had painted the different parts.

and lastly showing the subassembly

Here's my lot. I took the picture a couple of years ago. I've upgraded the unit to 21 since.
