Alith Anar - Stand and Shoot?

#1 Post by SpellArcher »

Alith's rules state that the Moonbow is a bolt thrower, which of course come with Slow to Fire and hence cannot Stand and Shoot being War Machines. The Moonbow profile doesn't show this but then neither does the bolt thrower profile in the BRB.

On the other hand, Moonbow has Quick to Fire, so can always be used to Stand and Shoot.

Which is right?

He can stand and shoot with it, I'd say.

Because the army books always overrule the rulebook when it comes to special rules. Imo it is just written very poorly and I think the reason why they wrote "The moonbow is a Bolt thrower" was because they wanted to make it easy, however they should have wrote "the moonbow shoot AS a bolt thrower".

Thanks guys, yes I'm leaning that way.

The fact that Alith retains the troop type 'Infantry' is another pointer, as is the phrase "Armour saves are not permitted".

I agree with him being able to S&S.
