Silver helms are looking great, very ornate. Good job painting up that cliff scenery too.

I've vote alternate shield colours for the second spear unit. That or different shield icons. Though I recognise both suggestions have their problems.

Cool thanks guys, yeah I'll go with some alternate shields.

So little update, which is Hawkship related. I've been working on the prow, the end result looks a bit off because it's unpainted but trust me, it will look much better further down the line! The main thing I need now is some bits! Having lost my supplies due to various moves and real life getting in the way I've got next to nothing on sprue. Ideally I just need a care package of some bits to spruce up the decks and make it look more lifelike.

As you may have guessed, trireme's have been my main inspiration:

I'm hoping to get the bulk of the build done soon and then have a think about the colour schemes.

Let me know what you think :)

Looks awesome so far, can't wait to see it finished. I may have to use this as inspiration for something for my Cothique army...

I've changed the prow some more, I have a few more little details to do and then it will be largely built.

Quick painting update, finished that Hawkeye for my archers. Hopefully going to do some border patrol soon!

I think that shading on the cloak is way too dark so I'll lighten that up at some point.

Cheers!

Great to see progress on the hawk ship, and the colours on the mini, as always, are top. Can I ask about the spots on the sleeve?

Wow almost a month since I last did some painting, unfortunately had one of those periods where you just don't feel the want to pick up a brush. However, finally gotten round to sorting something out and painted up my Tiranoc Chariot. I have also been picking away at the Hawkship so I promise I'll post up more photos of that soon!

Hope you guys enjoy, will try and do some more painting the rest of this week. I currently have my White Lions to do so will try and get them finished!

I remember years ago seeing in an old WD (or maybe even the 6th ed army book) about putting some hearts on the archer champion sleeve to make them stand out so I tried to emulate that!

Thanks, getting a bit better with painting white : )

Doing a quick colour test for my white lions unit.
In my head the lions of Chrace are more albino and a lot more chaos tainted by the magics of the Annulii mountains so I wanted to try to reflect that in the pelts which is why I went for this starker look.
Pics aren't brill but let me know what you folks think.

I like this test, especially the accentuated whiteness of the lion pelt.
If I may suggest, I would add some brighter red highlights, especially to the helm.

Thanks, yeah, I posted this up on a facebook group that I lurk in and someone said the exact same thing. So yes! More highlights abound

A bit dark maybe, but still proper! I'm enjoying the bronze look.

I recently primed 15 metal White Lions and 2 Tiranoc Chariots (although I have to finish other models first) so it was funny to see that you have been painting exactly those
I like the cloak of the White Lion! I second the red highlights suggestion :)

Out of interest, do you guys think the WL would look better with the yellow plume that I have used with the swordmasters which would be a lot brighter as opposed to the current red?

So I was having a quick look back through this plog and good grief it's been a while. I have been horribly busy with work and worse still, painting some adeptus mechanicus!

But I plan on adding a few updates shortly, namely - updating the cloaks on the Shadow Warriors and putting up an army shot.

Great details ! And I love this orange for the cape.
Good job there.

Any plan for the base ? Not that I don't like it all black, but it looks a lot like a display.

I really like the yellow of the cloak. Is it a yellow base layer and washes on top?

Greetings fellow Asur, what a year 2020 was and what 2021 continues to be.

My house was flooded on christmas eve and after a month we've finally managed to find some temporary accommodation. Thankfully managed to get our possessions upstairs at the time but we are currently dealing with an incredibly unhelpful landlord and insurance company while simultaneously still working every day due to being "key workers". Although I guarantee archaeology is not key work.

Currently taking a week off to try and de-stress and recuperate so I'm taking the time to try and paint some warhammer and update pictures.

So to start here's some updated photos of my first models, my spearmen. In a way I'm glad to see them because although my painting skills were a little rusty after a decade hiatus, I'm much more pleased with my current painting skill.

Hope to put up some more photos soon including an army shot of all I'd managed last year.

Edit: My word, those photos really pick out the dust! More fitting of a Nehekharan tomb than the glittering isle of Ulthuan

There were definitely best way to finish this year ... Even with a minor one I know this can really be a pain so I can't even imagine what it was for you. I hope everything will be back in order soon !

Thank you for the pictures. I really like your style and the details you brought to this unit to make them more "Chracian".
Can't wait to see the army shot !

I agree with the others. Though not as crisp and clean as more recent models they do look pretty good. Especially for "just" a spearman unit. And it's nice to see the progress you've made. Definitely give us a army shot at some point. :)

The flooding sucks. Glad to hear you're okay and that you managed to salvage your posessions at least. Good luck with recuperating and all the hassle that comes after something like that.

Hey thanks both, I really appreciate it! :) taking some time off work at the minute, it's unpaid but me and the wife needed a bit of a break!

Thought I'd put up some better photos of my 4th edition shadow warriors, I plan on painting up the rest of my white lions soon. I've got the urge to paint fantasy tingling in my heart.

I realised I never took any photos of my completed archers so will hopefully get some shots of those soon.

The army shot is a little delayed as the silver helms have had a few broken lances and I can't find the bloody plastic glue!!
