3mm(!) Elves from Microworld Games

#1 Post by Vermis »

Just as it says! A few words from the Dakka topic:
Now available in the store are our first forays into 3mm fantasy in the form of 2 full armies: Orcs and Elves. 6mm is a pretty niche market, so we thought it would be a good idea to diversify into a more common scale :)

Expect to see new races added in the months to come.
A couple of the relevant pics:

I have a wee half-painted Warmaster HE army (should get pics up sometime), and wouldn't normally consider Microworld's usual 6mm minis when I have that going. But at 3mm? There's something sorely tempting about seeing how far you can push the small scale/massive army thing.

What rules would one use for these?

My aging eyes would not thank me if I had to paint them!

The strips are 20mm wide (archers 10mm long) so you could load 'em up on 40x20mm bases and play Warmaster. I also quite like Mayhem, and I think Microworld is involved with a set of rules called Lords And Lands. Had a look once upon a time, and they're not too bad.

These are definitely 'wash and go' minis. That's one of the reasons I want to start over with my Warmaster army, see what those GW contrast paints can do.

I can warmly recommend using Hail Caesar as rules.
Its an improved version of warmaster and really works well on large armies.

Are those Swordmasters?

A better rules set is the average Olympus optics manual for stereo-microscopes ;D .
