evidently so. Also, just finished reading through both threads. Makes me miss the old round robins. One of these days i'll start up another RP myself, starting with the DAU that I had to abandon.The Silly Dragon wrote:So the court has convened to talk about...cats?

re-rolls to wound for the S4 6 shots? Or the single S6 shot? It still has the problem of hitting (in the back so long range 4+ to hit) and only D3 wounds. Paying a lot of points and still no better than a Cannon for killing monsters. I am much more scared of re-rolling to wound boosted Doombolts! :...

They've added abit more to Malekith's background aswell. He was married when in the Colonies. Then she had a vision of the coming storm and ran away but by that point he was too wrapped up in studying the Circlet of Iron to care. Fast forward to the time of Aethis, a embassader from Athel Loren arr...

I'm starting to think there are too many Dark Elves in Ulthuan(.net). Noooooo The leg is terrible, but they attempted (and badly failed) at coolness factor for people to go "ooh, he's got a sword for a leg, cool!" and not think about realistic implications of such prosthetic. Battle cows were just plain terrible in all respects. Yup, I went the entire editi...

to benefit for the cauldron one must have the murderous power special rule, monsters don't, RBT does. and what does the rule MP again say? from my knowledge the rule states, that DE get to reroll, is the RBT a DE? nope... if someone starts like that I will start to argue that my noble on griffon ge...

It's technically not a terrible idea if you never get off a ship (black arks are stone, other ships are wood). Blade leg would bite into wood and give extra balance... But the idea is still silly. Too bad combat is all about mobility then :P That leg is the worst idea i've seen for dark elves in a ...

Guy agrees with your point of view and called me a joke = acceptable behavior I apologize if you felt I targetted you solely, I will note that I think that calling you a joke is just as bad. But, "that he did it" is no good as an argument. An eye for an eye makes the world go blind. And w...

As for which kits they redo, it's probably a combination of things. A big reason recently seems to be to turn metal into plastics. And then there is ofcourse anything new in the books that gets a new kit. If there is any room left over I think they indeed just look at what they like to work on and ...

I agree that the way they do things tends to be frustrating and annoying but they have a responsibility to their shareholders in protecting the company and their IP so it is understandable. It also has to do with how dumb (pardon my wording) the british copyright laws are, if they do not go out and...

I agree with you, Ruerl, on most points, but this one. Not that I think it should be otherwise, but doesn't translate into current game rules in any significant way. I think this is our true gripe with DE getting the magic rules they did... That is however a gamebalance question not a question of f...

I would, If you listened to Malekith and wiped out/enslaved all the new races when they started appearing. the HE would rule the world, and not dwindle out of existence as more and more new threats overwhelm them. There would be no dwarves, no humans, which means no scaven and beastment and warrior...

Besides the fall of my city, the thing that annoys me the most was the implication that Malekith knows more about Ulthuan's armies and defences than the Phoenix King does. it is actually states that Malekith often knows when a Helf fleet arrives to a location before Finubar knows. Hope they hit it ...

There are some veteran Wood Elf generals out there who are some of the best Warhammer players I've ever seen, and they can beat anybody. Eh, there are two arguments in this: 1) Fluff. 2) Game balance. Be sure to keep them seperated. But as for the first i'm pretty sure, though I might offcourse be mistaken, that this merely is an reflection of their actual abilities as it could have been done in previous editions. Keep in mind that t...

Visor slits sucks on foot. The roman infantry helmets shows how they went to lenght to protect the face without obstructing vision via ridges, brims to make cuts and blows glide away from the face etc. The romans and persians both put the lone nasal guard on helmets too, protecting from crosswise c...

These models seem good quality. Do they do anything other than naked chicks in silly armor? (granted that's perfect for witch elves). @Ruerl, I definatly agree that you can only judge a model once you hold it in your hand. And it's hard to argue over taste. My biggest issue is that the models is'nt worth the money. On a note completely unrelated to the strength of the book, but I would be pretty disappointed in the release if I was a DE player. At least from what I've seen of the new models (in white dwarf / internet leaks). Some of them are "meh" I admit, but I thought that of some of the 7th editi...

@Aicanor:
You know, the inspiration with some of the dumber parts of the models just writes themselves, don't they?
@Solith:
Speaking as a former practitioner of medieval combat (Lichtenauer tradition, talhoffer style) I have to agree: Cloaks in combat are dumb And thats a cloak, not a cape.

Humankind has traversed to the top of the foodchain and has put man on the Moon but with all of our technology and intelligence we are still subject to Kittens and Puppies.
