Re: Online Campaign?
Aye, having played UB, 2K takes a long time, 3K is, IMO, excessive and would make games require a serious time commitment. I would rather stick to 2K, with SoM as a possibility for certain games. That's not to say we couldn't play a few special 3K games of course! As for armies, I would favour high ...

I'd be interested in this, can play high elves, lizardmen or even dark elves (boo hiss!) as needed. Would prefer my high elves of course!
Hopefully we'll get a little more interest. I'm sturen on UB too.

Make the greatest 28mm miniature in the world. Have a range of unrivalled scale and flexibilty. Their network of retail stores are instrumental to the spread of the hobby as a whole. For the most part these stores are pleasant and a great place to hang out. Have assembled what is essentially a dream...

Re: Bolt thrower (how do I make one?)
I'd look at using your bits box more than scratch building. A clever construction of spare bows could form a tripod. Cut up chariot parts could maybe form the "arms". Crew can easily be represented with spare models as TSD says. A shield can form the compartment in which arrows sit. Might ...

Re: Sooo... It looks like Asur in 2013.
While true, that's not what's happening. As GW increases prices there is a slight decrease in sales every year. This ends in them having approximately equal profits every year. Impressive for retail in these times. Sure, people don't have much money. But there are clearly enough people who do. Manti...

That's not how it works, you pay for the product, unless they've told you they'll give you more, they don't need to. I'm not knocking your feelings mate, I understand the frustration perfectly well. They could sell cheaper. You know why they don't? People are still buying their stuff! No matter whic...

Re: Sooo... It looks like Asur in 2013.
For one quarter ounce of resin GW charges $15ish per miniature that's crazy, and GW is not doing well (atleast in the LA area of the US a very rich area...) so I don't get what your saying. GW doesn't charge for the cost of the material. As a factor of their costs, even metal is incredibly tiny. Wh...

I'm sure they can Spellarcher, but wouldn't it be more effective to do a 180 degrees pivot then make a full movement and pivot again?

My first though was autocorrect, but following extensive experimentation I was unable to find any elf related word that would correct to pooch when misspelled. So I must conclude Archmage intended to imply that GW is, in fact, considering screwing a pooch. Make of that what you will. Edit: I failed ...

Re: Movement into enemy and various newb questions
1. No, the only time a unit can contact an enemy unit and enter combat (barring random movement) is in the charge phase, which means declaring the charge and rolling the distance. 2. The unit can only turn if it wins (iirc) with a combat reform. This is absolutely not a movement, units that are in c...

Re: Two(2) Quick Unit Deploment Problems (Please Advise).
Hey! I like your list, it looks a lot like mine! On chariots. I think the chariots work best with an infantry unit. Two chariots together might be deadly, but they aren't synergising very well with one another. To take advantage of their small footprint and mitigate their lack of ranks they need an ...

Essentially, if Harry or Hastings say it, it's true. They have no official mark as such, but over many years they have proved themselves as accurate over and over. They can't say where they get their info, that's how people lose jobs. They aren't always right, but it's close. As for most of the othe...

Of course, I forgot about that entirely. Perhaps socially Milliardo (at least likes to think ) he is a lion, but in his life outlook I'm still going for leopard. I wouldn't be all that surprised if they did! :D But you're right, there is probably some sort way for high ups to demand certain armies produced. Or it could be that they actually do all want to work on space marines all the time. To be fair, GW released 5 army books in 2011: 3 fantasy, 2 40K. Of t...

I've read in several places (which I can't remember) that the design process of the GW studio is a lot more relaxed than some people seem to be assuming. Apparently a writer will pitch their idea for a new book to their head (I don't know who this is) and if the head likes the idea they get a team p...

Re: Is there a standard color and symbol for the army of Ulthuan
In the background it is possible that within armies (or even units) there could be multiple colours used, it is traditional for warhammer players to choose 2-3 colours to create a unified look to the army. These colours consist often of a neutral (white, grey, cream ect.), major (often blue, red, gr...

Re: Soulcaller of Morai-Heg (buffer Hero)
Unit strength is an obsolete mechanic from 7th, it no longer exists! It's a level 1 wizard (level 2 as an upgrade?) with only death but two bonus spells. Seeing as the bonus spells are cast automatically without dispell, I would say it should cost a good bit more than a standard Mage. I'd give it a ...

Re: Greater lord of hoeth
The concept is sound. A buff cart in the form of a character does make sense for the Asur. I'm not sure that a lord choice is appropriate though. If you have to choose between an archmage or a (balanced) buff character, the archmage will always win. In terms of buffing characters, I'd consider Pries...

Re: Some drawings
Those look great, but there are a couple of simple anatomy and proportional things that don't seem quite right. In the first drawing his right (our left) leg is not foreshortened correctly: it appears to be viewed from the side. This makes the foot look out of place and I think gives him an unbalanc...
