6th edition: Lvl 4 mage tries to fireball a lone empire lord with one wound left. He ends up miscasts. I roll on the miscast chart and have my mage get blasted '3d6 in a random direction and if he hits any models or obstacles the mage and the hit model take a st10 hit'. The mage managed to blast him...

can someone tell me why special characters are allowed?

The truth is, people don't really know how to play high elves properly yet. Every method has its merits and disadvantages, and even the most bizare combinations can work at times.

I congratulate Anthony on his success, but I am dissapointed we have to revert to heavy shooting/heavy cav/dragon or a combination of them in order to get the job done. I was hoping ranked spears and not so heavy on the shooting could get the job done. His list is a gunline in disguise. I'm not try...
