Re: Elves Rampant - Avelorn and Chrace skirmish log
Great that you try other rulesets. I have DR as well, although I haven't played it yet, I might sometime this year. Im have been painting and collecting HE (and quite a few other armys and periods) for a very long time, I play Wh not very often, once a year at best. I do use the models for other gam...

Re: Other fantasy/hsitoric wargaming
That almost sounds like our club, Gandalf. There is some frostgrave at ours, but I wouldn't call it 'much', we play FoW, but also Bolt Action, There has been some saga the last two tears and a 28mm napoleonic project is slowly picked up by a few members. Where is your club? (Ours is in Amsterdam) In...

Re: Other fantasy/hsitoric wargaming
It is, and the only thing you need is a few dozen models of the standard fantasy type, not race-specific, a ruler, the booklet, and a few D20's. And terrain, of course - the game needs quite some, but you can take any terrain. Simple spell cards are downloadable from the site. It's easy to step in, ...

Re: Other fantasy/hsitoric wargaming
Very light skirmish for an equally light campaign. You have max 10-12 models: one wizard, one apprentice, and a bunch of hirelings from thugs to barbarians to deal an sustain some damage. Imagine a small table (3x3 or 4x4) full of (preferably snowy and icy terrain, and your group and one or more oth...

Re: Other fantasy/hsitoric wargaming
I started in the 80's as well, at the only Dutch club in The Hague (NL). I was around 10-12 then, WRG-Napoleonics. Then I lost interest for several years, played RPG's, went into boardgaming. In the Mid-nineties i started with my HE army, very slowly, and had my first games around the turn of the ce...

Other Fantasy/Historic wargaming
Hi all, does anyone currently visiting this site play other fantasy or non-fantasy wargames? I play Frostgrave, Song of Blades and Heroes, and I have the Dragon Rampant rules. I also play occasionally Song of Drums and Shako's Fantasy Napoleonics (old Flintloque stuff, with British Orcs, French Elve...

Re: Blood Bowl Reissue Imminent
Played it to pieces about 1--15 years ago. Great game, although if you play regularly in a league setting you must keep playing or lose it. 'Knowing' your team really helps, especially at higher levels. I havent seen the new rules yet, but the league rules of the 'Living Rulebook' this version seems...

Re: Merging a bit more with Druchii and Asrai?
I think this forum is struggling, perhaps less so than the others, but nevertheless. Combining the three forums will at least increase traffic and with that, perhaps the site will attract some new or older players who just lurk or visit occasionally.

Second one is about arranged marriages - I do not put faith in fact, that in such liberal society with high women equality marriages are arranged. To add to that, the marriage of the Everqueen and the Phoenix king is a ritual one, being induced by fate and being chosen rather than love or attraction.

Re: D&D In the old world
I'd say it's no problem. However, if you're not just using the map and really want top play in the Warhammer World atmosphere, I would say Elves should be more arrogant and more gritty than D&D elves: champions of law and perhaps an abstract sense of good, but less forgiving, less gentle, less h...

Re: What do you think is better - WH:8th Ed or WFB:T9A?
I've printed out 9th and the army book the day before yesterday. It looks solid. I do not play competitively - I even play WH once per year - but it seems to be a good basis to work upon. In the meantime, I keep my eye on Eliassons WarhammerArmiesProject, especially concerning 'unofficial' army list...

Re: Two minutes of silence for Tomb Kings
TK was a great army, but I must admit I always had the impression that it wasn't the most popular army. I think it's sad, but I do understand the reasoning. The same is true with Bretonnia. Great army, but not a lot of variety in gaming style and not a big seller. Much less of a problem for those wh...
