Re: A new painting blog - Gitilla WIP
It's been a while since I last posted on my own thread and an update is in order. I have been very busy at work in September, but lately I have picked back painting, on the heels of an important acquisition: an airbrush. It is certainly a learning curve, but it's been a lot of fun so far. Even in my...

Re: Fitzlock's High Elves - The Glittering Host of Avelorn
I really like the stealth tones, they fit well with the character.
And as usual, very slick brush work.
I have just got myself an airbrush, so I hope I'll be able to post better blended models soon

Unfortunately that rich experience you mention is what I lack.
My games are limited to me alternating on each side of the table and moving both armies.

Re: A New Blog
I had overlooked the bit about the doom diver, but I guess that reinforces my thought.
I do rate the doom diver much higher than the BT's so my comment still stands.
For 3 BT's you could get a doom diver and MR 2 (just need to find the remaining 5 points somewhere)

Re: A New Blog
Great battle, and commiserations. It seemed open initially, but the dice are fickle and your war machines only managed one good shot. Also unlucky with double IF (of which one caused damage only to you!). Your Beasts could have supported more the centre, but on the other hand they neutralised the Fr...

Skill and luck combined made for an excellent start, let's see how it develops.
As for your old army, whatever happened to it, did the dog chew it?

What about the doom diver? Although it must have done nothing if you did not mention it.
How quickly can things change... The Elves survived unscathed and SA's army is now in a corner, facing a more mobile adversary with superior shooting.

I have to confess I have no idea whatsoever about what the Chaos Dwarfs are like.
My knowledge beyond HE, O&G and Dwarfs is risible.

Seredain not playing a SH bus... interesting.
This is going to be good, you've whetted my appetite.
Have you ever posted more close-up pictures of your miniatures?

I can't wait to see what happens next.
I agree things look a bit tight for the HE right now, especially considered it's the O&G turn. The SH (ex-)bus stands to be pummeled by war machines and magic.

The Sea Helm is very good, but what really blows my mind is the wood from the Prince Althran's lance.

I think the paint work is consistent to your very high standard.
As you said, it looks like a difficult miniature to paint, and you did an excellent job.

200ml should indeed last forever. Unless you knock it over of course, in which case you might only get a few models out of it... Pro-tip: don't do that. Anoying that the wash had such an effect. You live and learn I guess. How are you finding the Vallejo washes? I really like the GW ones, and am cu...

Re: A new painting blog - Mangler Squigs COMPLETE
They look great. And it's indeed something completely different from the chaotic orcs and goblins. The model on foot does look a bit grainy, though that could of course just be the photo. Good spot, it's not the camera - I shot with a good camera and low ISO. It is indeed grainy, and it was caused ...

Re: Sturens Painting Log (updated July ‘21 – the 7 Year Update)
I see the good old firethrower model repurposed as a flame cannon, cool thinking!
I have two of those, so sad that while there is plenty of similar options for the Skaven, GW have dropped it for the Dwarfs (I used them back in 3rd Edition, 30 years ago).

Re: A new painting blog - Mangler Squigs COMPLETE
Thanks guys, the detail is actually not so good because much of it went lost in casting the copies.
Overall I found painting these models a bit difficult, but especially after basing they have grown on me and I think they look good (if one doesn't look to close )
By the way here is my new warboss:

And the last - this is made with somewhat worse casts and is unlikely to be used, also because it is the third one.
