By the looks of it, the DNS migration happened. The migration can be finalized tonight.

Re: You probably never saw this coming

That lies just outside the comfort zone for a quick migration, so it'll be either a brief downtime (a couple of hours?) or a more complex migration which includes an update.

Re: You probably never saw this coming

I doubt it is Naggie's intention to remain at Asrai.druchii.net. In theory.. I think it's possible to cut down the downtime of ulthuan.net. Ricold, how large is the database? Unless I'm mistaken, what we could do is do a file migration (and include the db for giggles), but disable the forum on the d...

Re: Interesting GW numbers

As to the actual trends in the chart I think it's likely that you did miss things as you mentioned. I'm guessing you were fairly excited (one way or the other) about AoS and as a result you searched for things (and therefore found them), where with warhammer you stuck to what you already knew. Well...

I wonder how long it will take to be sure whether it worked or not? It is being discussed to the death at many places with wildly differing opinions. We do not have the data. As it is relevant to this discussion, I'll repost Google Trends charts here (you can play with Trends some more, it is fun :...

Re: Statistics

I've been monitoring the activity on Druchii.net as well. As far as the pron references go, I think there are a few explanations. It's enough to have a few spammers, even if you ban them, to have had references to this site which are regularly tested for new posts or to cause link-back traffic. Spam...

"Sigmar sounds like a good product, and I think maybe I should buy it for Joe for Christmas. But as I walk back along a tow-path to the railway station the spell wears off. He just wants to play. He’s not an anointed one. He doesn’t have Warhammer DNA. I don’t think he’ll ever walk into a Warh...

Re: WFB: Reworked and Rebalanced

I checked the dark elf changes and wonder about the following points: - Fleetmaster, his sacrifice ability gives +2 movement only to the Corsairs in the unit. So the Fleetmaster doesn't get the buff and will still restrict the unit to M5 rendering the ability useless on the charge. The only scenario...

Re: 9th Edition rumours

I see it the same way as Makiwara said. They needed a drastic reboot. The game had to change, so it can attract a broader, younger audience (and drive sales more easily). Once you make that conclusion, it's either all-in, or fold. You can not make such a large reboot, and then keep its biggest compe...

Re: Basic tactics and tricks in Sigmar

I had another thought on that flank charge as well and it may answer some of your questions Grenic. The second flank charge (horses?) doesn't even need to reach combat. The "pile in" rules state that you can move up to 3" to the nearest enemy model... It doesn't state this has to be a...

Re: Basic tactics and tricks in Sigmar

Very nice thread and tactics. While elves aren't exactly the most tanky models, the pile-up can also be used to force a hammer and anvil mechanic: http://s1.postimg.org/51opppghr/Hammer_Anvil.png The pile-up is forced towards the anvil, which keeps the damage on your flanking unit minimal. Another i...

I don't know if any of you have seen the size comparison picture that's out there right now, but it's not encouraging. I'm hoping it's photoshopped... I see no reason it can't be true. Whether this indicates a scale increase across the board is unclear. The fluff points out that the Sigmarines are ...

Re: 9th Edition rumours

Well, the IoB unit chart didn't include point values, composition and unit sizes either. So I'm guessing these rules are mostly to get started with the new box or the general concepts.

Re: 9th Edition rumours

Units have to maintain 1" gap between the models - that essentially makes it a skirmishing system. Just a small note there. The exact wording is: "A unit must be set up and finish any sort of move as a single group of models, with all models within 1" of at least one other model from...

Re: 9th Edition rumours

The way it's being described it won't be about maneuvering and flanking and fleeing (you know that stupid stuff that has a basis in reality even in modern warfare), but more about putting together combinations of stuff. Maneuvering and fleeing is still possible by the looks of it, but it will work ...

Re: Cauldron of Blood Challenge Question(s)

- The Cauldron's own rules specify that the model must remain in the middle of the unit. This is a specific rule, and thus trumps the BRB's general rule that would have the model displaced. Still... this middle can "vary". Say a 10-wide Witch Elf unit with a COB will have 3 files on one si...

If it's the bot protection you're worried about, perhaps I can help. We have kept Dnet bot free for some time with little more than the available features.

How was it done in the current theme?

As you are likely all aware, Asuryan had apparently always intended for Malekith to be the Phoenix King, but our extra-crispy king had thrown himself out of the flames too quickly. As a result, Asuryan had to throw a series of tests at him (The Sundering, The Civil War, etc.) to make sure that he w...

Re: End Times: Khaine fluff discussion (may contain spoilers

It's her obsession with Aenarion, I believe. Tyrion is closer to Aenarion in looks than deep-fried Malekith. In the sundering and the Blood of Aenarion books, her obsession is portrayed quite literally. Being quite the Slaneeshi girl, I reckon that it's an urge she hasn't exactly learned to temper. ...

But I doubt they'll keep the armies merged. It could even prelude the end of Malekith. Or something to split them up again.

Some very nice reasonings there. I do think the cult has quite some influence. The problem with the Cult is... Well... They are closely tied to covenant of magic. There are quite some noble families with a sorceress in their midsts. And then there is also the tiny detail that every Sorceress is marr...

Re: Malekith, Vorshgar and the Circlet of Iron

Another reason for the Cult to last is that the Cult is strongly tied to the coven of magic.... Or rather the difference is flimsy at best. Malekith might hate the Cult, but he won't throw away his Sorceresses. Both the Cult and the coven of magic is lead by Morathi, who still sways Malekith to her ...

If my memory serves me well, it's not just the circlet but the experience in the northern wastes that changed him. He was already a malice in his mind before that, but it took him the experience in the north to unchain that. As part of that experience, if I remember correctly, he saw the 'land' or d...
