Re: Hoeth vs Ashur
Ack, yes, not Khaine's ring. I meant he has Crown of Atrazar. Forgot I changed that when I gave him the reaver bow. This will be a comped event, and done in an interesting way. They have a rating scale from 1.0 to 5.0, and they want people to shoot for around 3.0 list scores. I think without book of...

Hoeth vs Ashur
I have a friendly team tournament coming up at the end of Sept. I have a list that does not include any cav save one unit of 5 reavers, no phoenixes, no Book of Hoeth, and no Banner of the World Dragon. It's a Lothern themed fleet display board with a white lion ship and a phoenix guard ship, escort...

Re: New to High Elf novels
I am reading the Tyrion & Teclis Trilogy, and just finished the first book. I think the second book takes place in Lustria. I doubt Finubar is in it much, let alone in Lustria, as it is the twins' quest, but the first book did a decent job showing the political intrigue and power shifts in the n...

Re: Does Blizzard Aura stack?
"For each Frostheart Phoenix in base contact with the unit, it suffers a -1 penalty to its strength." This is far from the current wording, because it`s an entirely different rule. For it NOT to stack it should have said this: "An enemy unit in base contact with one or more Frosthear...

Re: Does Blizzard Aura stack
I suspect the intent is that being in contact with multiple Frosthearts does not stack the -1S. If this is your (by 'your' I mean all of the "no-stackers", not just singling out cerebros :D) belief, then the question is do you think any modifiers from an identical source stack? If I cast ...

BRB Page 36: Spell Resolution: "If the enemy has failed his dispel attempt (or not even attempted one!), the spell is cast successfully and its effect is now resolved."
You can cast a spell. But it can be dispelled. If it isn't dispelled, then it is cast successfully.

Re: Wood Elves Rumours/Speculation?
What if all elves (including cav) got a disengage option? They can voluntarily flee, then immediately rally, just like the warhawk rider's hit and run ability. That would attribute to their guerrilla style tactics (that's how I picture wood elves anyway, don't know if it's true). This would allow th...

He only goes to the back rank for that round of combat. Next round of combat he may 'make way' to get back into the action, granted he doesn't turn down another challenge if issued again.

Re: Facing 3K Skaven Next Week...
L4 with book (probably want talipres on him too) with lore of life or high magic. Dwellers is the bane of skaven. Fiery Convo is hilarious if you put it on a block of skaven slaves, and they break, possibly doing damage to friendly units. Tempest is actually not too bad vs skaven, especially someone...

Re: Harmonic Convergence on Mages?
Ya... That's the reason I partly agree with JR. Remains in Play spells I would definitely say get Harmonic Convergence in any turn HC is actually on the wizard controlling the RiP spell. Because RiPs specifically say the wizard uses a little concentration to keep the spell going, he still has a hand...

Re: Harmonic Convergence on Mages?
While JR makes a very good case, I would have to say IF Harmonic Convergence does indeed work with spell damage (and I don't see why not), then you WOULD get the benefit when using Comet. Nowhere in Comet's rules does it say that the wizard loses complete control over the spell. All it says is it ca...

On Chaos Space Marines: They're getting some supplements and a quick patch. Since the start of the month was Imperial Knights, the second half will be CSM. 9 kits (plus one battalion), two codexes, and a novel. THAT's a quick patch to you? :P Reference: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-11Fgb92lP-A/UxbBpdz...

I think the beaver should have a one-time-use ability that turns a forest terrain into a hill (building a dam) and can move it to block the flow of a river. Oh, and it should be a zombie beaver. Re: White Lions Attacking Dark Elves
Ability =/= rule. I haven't read this whole thread so I'm probably just saying what's been said before. Our argument is that White Lions have lost the ability but not the rule. This is correct in the rules if you accept that there's a difference between the ABILITY granted by the RULE Always Strike...

Re: White Lions Attacking Dark Elves
Okay Chewbacca. Do the White Lions have ASF or not? Yes or no? White lions HAVE to have the ASF rule. They NEVER lose it. They have the ability, but the effect is cancelled out. So. The dark elves have ASF. The white lions have ASF. The dark elves strike accordingly. White lions strike at initiative...

Re: White Lions Attacking Dark Elves
You need to take it from the perspective of the model. The dark elf has ASF. His ASF sees someone else with ASF and therefore, strikes at ASF, no rerolls. Supposedly, he strikes 'simultaneously' because the other guy has ASF (regardless of whether he has ASL or not). The bottom line, the dark elf st...

Re: White Lions Attacking Dark Elves
Okay, so then I think we agree that they still have both rules, but neither is in effect. ASF states that if both models have the rule, "the attacks are made simultaneously, and neither model benefits from the rerolls granted by this rule". Both models have the rule. One of them might not ...
