Re: A new painting blog - Trolls WIP

They look awesome !!! I really like your style.
And as you said, even if some of them have imperfections it's not distinguishable thanks to your paint job and their troll rough shapes.
And the base too is so great.

Just amazing !

Re: Azaam's journey to his full painted army

And the fun thing for a hobbyist is that with getting so many duplicate models for cheap you have a lot of stuff more kit-bashing and building your own models. I'm still planning on thinking of something fun to do with my duplicate lord on griphon. Actually I have two of that lord on griphon too. S...

Re: Azaam's journey to his full painted army

I've told you earlier than I went a bit overboard last days with a lot of expense. This is one part of it : https://i.ibb.co/zNswXdc/Box-Island-of-Blood.jpg It's open but everything inside is new. The only missing part is the ruler. The seller also included High elves army books (v6 and v7) and Skav...

They really look great. Good job !
I love the facial expressions on these models. I didn't know it was possible to do so much on the face !
Do you mix paints to obtain the skin tones or do you have existing paint for it ?

Re: A new painting blog - Arachnarok complete

These trolls are a special project because many of them have been cloned using blue stuff moulds and milliput.
Wow that's amazing. I watched some videos about it but I was wandering if it was worth all the trouble. Can't wait to see the end result !

Re: A new painting blog - Arachnarok complete

I think you know how much I love this model and I'm really sad I won't be able to see any more pictures of it ! XD

Seriously, you did an amazing job ! The fact that it's coming out of the base make it more realistic. I almost feel like it's gonna move.

I can't wait to see these trolls !

Re: Azaam's journey to his full painted army

I'm working on the command group of the swordmaster and that's going well. I tried the ivory blade on them too and I didn't find the right hue yet to make it look good. I think they're too light now so I'm darkening them slowly. @Prince of Spires : I listened to your advice and used wash on the tail...

Great details ! And I love this orange for the cape.
Good job there.

Any plan for the base ? Not that I don't like it all black, but it looks a lot like a display.

Damn ! I'm always a bit scared when I come check this topic and I think soon I won't even be able to come anymore.
This Arachnarok feels more realistic each time you post and now it looks even more dangerous ! I really think you did a great job with the "face" and the horns.

Re: Azaam's journey to his full painted army

Okay so, I did some testing for the different colour on the helmet and I decided to stick to the original scheme => back to gold. For the sword, I'll try on the next figurine I paint and I'll see how it goes. Depending on how happy I am with it I may go back to these batch to repaint the sword. @Mas...

Re: Azaam's journey to his full painted army

Hi folks, a quick update on my minis. As I said in a previous post I striped them to be able to reach the quality I was aiming for. They are not finished yet but I think I'm on going in the right direction so I'm kinda happy so far. Also I need some feedback. To have a bit of diversity I tried some ...

With your recent update I checked the previous pictures you shared and I really like your alternative colour scheme for your high elves! I couldn't always see but it looks like this is some neat job too!
Keep us updated when you'll play the revenge ;)

Re: Ulthuan Rallies for War

I generally don't really like the usual colour scheme for Phoenix Guard but I have to admit that yours are pretty neat ! Good job. For the Dragon Prince, nothing is really popping out. Maybe a some highlights on both helms would help ? And this is the first time I see this phoenix like this. I've ne...

Re: Azaam's journey to his full painted army

Hi there ! Quick update. I told you earlier that I wanted some kind of tiles for the base. So here's what I was thinking : The initial design : https://i.ibb.co/tHntLKm/Design-socle-initial.jpg And the 3D model to make a texture rolling pin to 3D print (thanks to one of my coworker) : https://i.ibb....

Thank you very much for your feedbacks and your kind word, mates ! That means a lot.

For next post, I'll think I'll show my very first mini VS one of the last mini before I stopped VS one now. That may be interesting to see the evolution ^^

Nice work again.
I like how clean it looks. The metal parts are not too shiny so it really lets the other colours do their job.

Can I ask what metallic paint do you use ?

So, as you can see, I went all according to my plan : - Red clothes - Orange trim - Earthy/bone-like scale mail (on three of them I highlighted all the scales one by one) - Bone-like armour - Red plume (it turned almost pink beacause of the light) - Golden details - Green gems - Black and red sword ...

Great job. I have the same model of Teclis. I especially like what you did with the cape. The texture looks really great. It looks like you spent a lot of time on this ! For the IoB mage the staff is wonderful. Did you freehand the rune on the orb ? This is the first time I see this spider crab mode...

Hi TyrrenAzureblade ! I'm always happy seeing "normal" people painting. Pro painters are great but it looks often too far to reach. Your army looks great ! I think I already saw some pictures of it some days ago on Reddit, wasn't it ? Standard colours definitely but great quality ! I can't...

Azaam's journey to his full painted army

Hi folks ! I recently found back my old Warhammer minis. I started collecting HE (mainly) more than 15 years ago and I've never really finished painting them. So I decided to buy some paints and brushes and to do my best to finally finish this army. Back then I painted them pretty close to the class...
