Re: Dublin's High Elves of Chrace updated 2/26/11

Sorry for not having any updates the past couple of weeks. I have been busy working on this: http://i1118.photobucket.com/albums/k617/sporudy/20110324132508-1.jpg http://i1118.photobucket.com/albums/k617/sporudy/20110324132522.jpg http://i1118.photobucket.com/albums/k617/sporudy/20110324132536.jpg

There is also a thread on here by another member that has done up a unit of Lion Princes. I cannot remember his name off the top of my head...I am also going the same route but have been distracted by other things and have not made too much progress.

Re: For those who undercoat with chaos black spray....

I have been using a Krylox (i think thats the spelling) white primer on my HE's and it's works pretty darn well. It's only like 6-7 dollars at Wal-Mart here in the states. Glad to see that I'm not the only Chrace player that dabbles in 40k playing Space Wolves.

Re: Frost Elves Test Model

Are you going all wood elf for the army or just with archers? I love the wood elf armies based on different seasons. There was a cool painting article in WD a few years back that showed samples of models painted up based on different parts of the years. Good job on the paint scheme so far, post a pi...

After the fiasco with the mage model, I opted to go with red as I can do better shading in red than green.

Ok here is a picture of the new color scheme for the army. I still need to do some touch ups and finish the base, but that will have to wait until I get my new glasses next week. Re: 2000 points starting army

The suggestions above are all great ones, another one I would like to suggest is going with a small point total. This would give you more flexability in the unit sizes without having to field every single piece to reach size requirements. Go with 1500 or 1800pt battles until you can get the addition...

I have a nice collection of Mage Knight Dungeons along with a few sets of the floor and wall tiles that one could purchase as well. Never played the straight Mage Knight version but they did have a nice modular castle you could purchase.

Also, that banner that limits shooting I believe is the storm banner. In the FAQ for Skaven 1.4: Page 111 – Storm Banner Add “One use only”. Change the start of the third sentence to “All shooting attacks that don’t use BS [...]”. Those lil furry rats can only mess up our shooting for 1 turn not eve...

If I'm not mistaken not only is the dispell scroll arcane, you can only take 1 in an army. You cannot have multiple dispell scrolls in an army anymore.

Re: 2500 Magic Focused Competitive List

As a reminder for future games, you are capped at 3 Eagles, so 4 would be too much. That is incorrect....High Elves are few in number, but their armies are trained and equipped to standards so high that they are the envy of all other races. To represent this, an army may include up to 6 of each Spe...

Re: Araby Colony Elves, where to begin?

I like the look so far. Have you given any thought of runnning the colors on a diagonal for a few of the models to break up the horizontal striping on a whole unit? I am a lil concerned what the spearman killed that left that mustard colored blood on the blade. Was it perhaps Col. Mustard in the dra...

Re: Hard back Army books.

If you treat a book with respect it will last. Books today are mainly glued together and not stitched like in eons past. Unlike stitching, glue will eventually break down over time. If you bend your book, open it and then forcefully flatten it to the page you want so it won't close up, expect the bo...

Re: Dublin's High Elves of Chrace Minor Update 2/23/11

While I haven't picked up a brush, still not happy with how the mage is coming along paint wise, the archers I ordered did come in so I was able to assemble the 1st of 2 10-man units. I also was able to do a lil kit bashing and came up with an alternate AM/mage. http://i1118.photobucket.com/albums/k...

Re: New trend?

From what I can see, the BRB has the core magic items avail to all armies and the core AB's are being designed to build off of that. When I look at the magic items in our AB, a good majority of the items are 'one time use only' items. For the points on many of those I would rather add another White ...

Overally great looking tower. I do have to agree about the bare tree. Sort looks like it was added at the last second and detracts from the rest of the piece. The only other concern I have is the skeleton infront of said tree. It's right leg is hanging out past the edge of the ground just about at t...

Are Shields worth taking?

In 7th Ed when you took shields for spearmen they couldn't benefit from the shield armor save in CC as a spear was a 2h weapon. In reading the BRB for 8th ed, the description of the spears doesn't list them as 2h weapons. Does this mean that your spearmen or LSG can now fight with in CC with spear a...
