Re: Tomb Kings in a map based campaign
Game 3 This is going to be shorter as I don’t really feel like going into a lot of detail. And the game was one sided and probably not the most interesting. Tomb Kings VS Orcs Orc list Black Orc Warboss, axe of stunty bashing, heavy with 5+ ward, shield Black Orc Bigboss, bsb, shield, heavy armor wi...

Re: What are people's thoughts on tomb kings?
I'd also have to rate tomb kings near the bottom in terms of power level of the books. As far as the 8th edition books go they're probably the weakest, but I feel the 8th ed books are so close together in terms of power that its not a big deal. I think the biggest advantage tomb kings players have i...

Re: 2500 TK vs Empire - Battleline (Game 2)
I think you list could benefit from a second unit of necropolis knights. They're really your only combat threat on the table, so once your opponent takes them out, you're in trouble. Also while the casket can be a real let down, I think it might have been worth trying to use it on any units outside ...

Re: Tomb Kings in a map based campaign
You're right dabber which is why given the choice all the terrain would be mundane and none of the wacky stuff. I mean are 83% of all forests and rivers in warhammer really magical? I actually won the combat against his bsb with my necropolis knights. Didn't realize I didn't have to deploy the horse...

Re: Writing Army Lists
I've got a couple more steps or things that should be kept in mind for your list. 1) Having a plan for how you want to deal with every phase of the game. So deployment phase, how many units of chaff are you going to bring to help you win your deployment phase. At the moment I'm thinking you should t...

Re: The Art of Deployment
It was interesting to read, but don't think it really covered enough or went into enough depth. I agree that for the most part, half the game is the deployment phase. Far too often I've read warseer battle reports from the "experts" who advocate taking 3 combat hordes and brute forcing you...

Re: MSU HE - vs 2500 DoC with Blood Thirster
Looks like a fun battle to play and it was fun to read. It also looks like I have a lot to learn in terms of using battle chronicler. Is there an expansion pack for the program so you can add some other types of terrain to the map?

Re: Tomb Kings in a map based campaign
So my game two got off to a great start. My friends and I met up at the local game store only to find out they had a flames of war tournament going on and there was no chance of getting a table for at least 6 or 7 hours. Anyways we decided we’d headed off to someone’s apartment, put a mat down and p...

Re: Baeron's 1000 Pt Small Tourny - Summary
That was a nice report to read. Its a shame the dwarf match up didn't go so well.
Anyways I was bored and tallied up the empire list you played It came out at 1089 points and he went over 50% on specials, assuming I read his list correctly and there wasn't a typo somewhere.

Re: Tomb Kings in a map based campaign
Thanks for the response Jimmy. For purple sun, the first time I cast it in the second turn and it stopped right in front of the bull unit with the bsb. On my third turn I recast the spell, causing the first one to disappear. My opponent dispelled the second one in his magic phase. As for the lists, ...

Re: Tomb Kings in a map based campaign
@f00ssa that's true and that mistake should have cost me the game, but he rolled poorly for his overrun. He also very nearly didn't crumble me in that combat. Anyways if I didn't charge the mournfang he would get a charge on me in his next turn, so it was really do or die. The best option would have...

Re: 2500 TK vs Beastmen - Battle for the Pass
I agree about getting things done in low dice magic phases. With tomb kings at least since you can benefit from the casket and the heirotitan I much prefer rolling a 2-4 dice magic phase over a 10-12 dice phase. If there's a key spell that needs to go off I'm sure to enough dice for it and my oppone...

Re: Tomb Kings in a map based campaign
I'll take a look at Ollanno's (misspelled) sticky about them. I'd know how to use when I first wrote the report, but it should help out some. Includes some pictures now but I'm not very good at use battle chronicler and have no idea how to remove units when they're destroyed, I just tried to move th...

Re: 2500 TK vs Beastmen - Battle for the Pass
Its funny how you're saying that running two level four wizards is rare, as my understanding is that the 2 level 4 wizard approach is the only one that works well with tomb kings. Congratulations on your victory, it was entertaining to read.

Tomb Kings in a map based campaign
Hello everyone. I posted this report over on warseer but its not generating any comments so far, so I thought I'd post over here as most people like reading battle reports. I hope you guys like it this is a direct copy paste, sorry about all the poor grammar and spelling. My friends and I are playin...
