I'm very excited to see Sky cutters for sale. The used market is absurd. I have plenty of foot mages but the mounted mage will be nice.

Are you saying that this prevents chariots from joining infantry or that the chariot goes the speed of infantry?

Fire Mage Army List 2k

Because High Elves can reroll their first failed cast per mage I love the idea of taking more level twos because they have an easier chance off spells. This army is made around that. I played a variation of this on Monday versus Tomb Kings and it was fun. We did a friendly match as opposed to a comp...

Re: Shooty/magic focused 2500pt list

If you can get their level 4 into combat, then your level 2s utility goes up a lot. Suddenly, they can no longer dispel and it's great.

I'm theorizing with a 6 battle magic mage list at 2k points right now. It'll probably do horribly, but it's fun to consider.

I recently a game with this 2+/5+/5+ prince layout and I loved it. I took on a kitted out Bretonians Duke. It was slow going through as the Duke as a 2+ (rerolllable) / 5+ with the occasional extra 5+. Sometimes when the prince failed to wound, the lion charioteers would step up and do damage. This ...

Can shield of Saphery be cast into combat? I used to think it could but because I just assumed it could because the target is a friendly unit. (8th edition). But I'm started to to think I'm wrong 1) you can cast spells (enchantments) into combat unless his spell says you can. there are caveats that ...

I said this in the other thread about the FAQ and my sentiment still holds: --- I'm imagining that someone out there tried to argue that you could cast a non-self conveyance spell on the turn you charged because you are not technically in combat e.g. combat hasn't started. GW responded with this. Ma...

Nice list overall. With only 1 block, it may fold quickly in heavy combat, but the two monsters help on that front. Here are some thoughts. Archmage [495 pts] (Hand weapon, General, Star Dragon, Lore Familiar, Seed of Rebirth, Pure of Heart, High Magic) Was ok but being L3 meant there were one or tw...

Re: Pursuit and new combat

They way that I have read it is that both Fall Back in Good Order and Give Ground are continuation of combat. This means that my high elves do not get the additional +1 initiative. It also means that challenges continue and new ones can't be started if that challenge ended.

What are you thoughts on this list? The idea is to put the high elf Mage in the swordmasters and the Battle Magic mage in the Phoenix Guard. The high magic mage's goal is to be a combat Mage. put walk between worlds on the swordmasters and get them in combat. Then it can cast 2 assailment spells. Th...

Re: Archer Detachments

Jedra brings up a good point. But in the case of having one or two 1x5 archer darts, it's not going to be game defining and I wouldn't get upset with an opponent if they brought those. If you want an FAQ on it, I'd urge you to submit an email to the FAQ account asking if this is intended, otherwise...

The exact wording is "This special rule allows half of the models in each rank other thank the front rank (or front to ranks if the unit is on a hill) to fire over the heads of those in front" I will grant that it is poorly wording making it ambiguous is if is: 1) Half of (all of the mode...
