Re: Proper carrying case?
I owned Citadel Cases, Battlefoam, Army Transport, etc. Here is what I now do and I care more about my painted minis than my son. Buy 1 magnetic white dry erase board. Magnetize ALL of your minis AND their movement trays (easily done with some products from companies like Litko and GF9) Stick magnet...

The crown of atrazar head exists. Its either in the Noble/Mage plastic kit or the Dragon kit. I forget which.

I have that sort of brush for drybrushing, John. Just check out your local all-in-one pharmacy like CVS, Rite Aid or a place like a Walmart/Target/etc. Anywhere that sells make up. If they have a specific name, I don't know it but its pretty obvious what it looks like. Big, puffy, hair ball on the e...

Re: Unplugged GT - cool intro video
Hmm. Not sure what more I could really add. My list was junk...but I learned that a cav bus, even without the BoTWD, is still F*ing deadly. I was really worried about what a miscast would do to it, and I only ever had one in the tournament (I think the max dice I tossed at anything was 4). It did en...

Re: Unplugged GT - cool intro video
The polish on this tournament is really high. I had a great time there, as always. I was lucky enough to meet up with RedGeist from these forums there and another member who's forum name I didn't catch. The HEs were well supported on both the painting and gaming fronts. I did well overall. Had a min...

The elf sniper using a salvaged skaven gun is awesome. I freaking love that concept and it feels very "End Times" to me. Desperate times and all that.

Is this madness? I was fiddling around with the basics on the list and came up with this. Can this work in ETC? Lords Prince - barded steed, Giant Blade, Dragonhelm, Dawnstone, Dragon armor, shield AM - Level 4, High Magic, Obsidian Lodestone, Book of Hoeth, steed Heroes Noble - barded steed, Ogre B...

Re: ETC Draft 3 help needed - A painter-first in crisis :D
I agree that dropping the banner might be the best choice. Lore of Life and the obsidian lodestone makes your Helmbus pretty awesome, and never underestimate the value of a regular battle standard. I agree with taking Life as well, this is my favourite kind of list. But still, absolutely, take Thro...

I'm thinking it may be your draft after all, Curu, butl...I gave the BoTWD a think and I've come around to the idea of just dropping it. Then I thought about fitting my last uncomped list into this without the banner and here is what it looks like. Cav Prince Archmage - Lore of Life? Obsidian Lodest...

Re: Etc draft 3 - HEs kicked in the groin
Keith is actually a really solid guy for those who have never met or played with him. @Keith - Take this from someone who (admittedly) has no proper ETC comp experience. My particular concern is the 0-4 Bolt Thrower issue. Is it more desirable to have HE armies have either 0 or 4 RBTs with nothing i...

Re: ETC Draft 3 help needed - A painter-first in crisis :D
I ran something similar at this tourney last year, with the Banner in the SMs and Life magic on a level 4 with book. It went well. The Knight unit had only the two characters and they seemed to handle an uncomped environment reasonably well, but I did have some very soft matchups along the way too. ...

Re: Etc draft 3 - HEs kicked in the groin
If any of you more ETC savvy types would be willing to help out, I posted up my current army list dilemma in the Army Lists section. I'd love some ideas on how to solve the problem I've laid out there. Its a bit of a long read (sorry for that) but I couldn't think of a shorter way to put it.
Thanks!

ETC Draft 3 help needed - A painter-first in crisis :D
On re-reading this, I hope to I don't come off like an arrogant ass about the painting. Its just my first love and first concern but I don't want to be steamrolled for five games either! Hey gang, So I haven't played in a major tournament in over a year. I recently dusted off my HE's for our gaming...

Re: Etc draft 3 - HEs kicked in the groin
Hey SM, Yeah, I know the signature thing. My view is that while they comp for their event( as they should), there is no view towards the hundreds of events worldwide that use this same comp. My favorite local GT is using this comp this year and my choice is essentially no BoTWD( anywhere, not even o...

Etc draft 3 - HEs kicked in the groin
Here is the link. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/106941867/AR2015-Draft3.pdf Im not a fan of ETChammer in general so that is worth noting. However, someone who understands this comp better, please explain its rationale. Particularly, 1) If they dont want the BotWD, why not just ban it? 2) how i...

I noticed your avatar is from Dynasty Warriors, the Three Kingdoms one right? Well I got into the Three Kingdoms stuff through a television show China made in 2010. I'm an Unplugged GT regular. I can say that your painting standard is certainly in the top 25% of the field. Very nice stuff.
I'm intrigued about the Asian themes, can you expand a bit more on it?

Re: The Coastal Defenders of Eataine - a high elf army
The display being a 'cheap trick' is such a bs excuse. I've been accused of the same thing before. They don't understand that for some of us, the army IS a story, not just a collection of minis.
Great work. Keep it up.

Re: Varnishing
Expect to lose some vibrancy on all colors when doing a varnish, even matte. The colors will change, ever so slightly (I do mean slightly, only a competitive painter would likely notice). For myself, if I intend to compete with the piece (painting wise), I don't varnish. Seems mad, but I stick to it...

Re: End Times: Thanquol!
I think it is safe to say there are 'elf' models done and waiting somewhere. Why? Because these new models are all designed 2-3 years ago. Whatever plan they have for 9th ed elves is already in the works, models are designed and tools likely already cut. In the end, you may be thankful there were no...
