Re: 9th Edition rumours

I've been silent for months. Life takes over sometimes But... Without repeating everyone's comments about personal and financial investments etc.., I can't believe they are literally about to shelve fantasy battle. The game that set them off to the big time. The game that allowed them a seat at the ...

Re: Brian Mages Elves - Phoenix, Reavers, Sisters, Helms WIP

Hello peeps I've been away taking a new job and having a baby and being generally more interested in sleep than warhammer, however there is a fillip injected into me again. As usual (if you've read my previous posts) i have a tournament and want a new list and therefore... need new models... So i've...

Howdy, just a quick note to say Ive started mine. Only real reason for that is because I've been so quiet on these boards recently. Pregnant wife and starting new job are my excuses now.

The loremaster looks so cool. Proper "angry elf smash your face in" look about him. But at the same time he still has that elven nimble feel too.

I love the crystals idea. My ice dragon has them and so too will the Phoenii

Re: Brian Mages Elves - GRATUITOUS WORK STATION SHOT

Hello again. Some more WIP's for you all. The weather is really playing with the paints. The UK is having a bit of a heatwave and its drying my paints before it even gets to the models!!! As you can imagine, painting white smoothly is not really effective while sat in Vauls Forge. I'v etherefore dec...

Re: Brian Mages Elves - Reavers WIP

Firstly: Sorry. I missed the deadline of the weekend end past to upload an update. The reason is because the Magpie stuck again and I've started every unit, but finished none... totally. So, I have 3 more nights to finish the list. It looks quite possible, although I'm desperately trying to find som...

That is a really nice idea. I especially like how the PGs are looking out in all four directions for protection from all angles.

@Sarcon - too good to miss. I've seen them on the circuit a lot these days however. You started a trend! Thanks for the comments guys. Re: Take No Prisoners or Make No Friends?

Maybe I didn't express myself well. Well thought out armies, great tactical decisions, synergies and great generalship are all things to be admired. Honestly. I think some people's (read: my) issues come from is when rules are interpreted, potentially, beyond where a lot of people believe they shoul...

Re: Take No Prisoners or Make No Friends?

@pacey-milan Agreed. Some things 'feel' acceptable others just don't. I find it comes down to the Meta that we each play in. For example, when playing with my mates we would never ever bring any special characters at all. However in an uncomped tournament then you should expect that. Play to what fe...

A smart opponent would ensure they save dice to dispel that one spell.
Otherwise you IF it and probably blow everyone up.

It could work. And when it does it would be obviously very insane. Potentially too much insanity. No. Actually too much insanity

Re: Take No Prisoners or Make No Friends?

This is a great topic. I think the old unkillable archmage was fine. However the BoH was beard. With Shadow it was basically ZZ Top. I'd never do a conga line, but would do (and have done) 3x3 white lions. I used to seerstaff a Lv1 heavens Mage just to IF a Comet turn one on top of my opponents, but...

Re: Value of Stubborn on WL

I've play tested a unit of 9 with champ. Found them very useful in most situations, but not strong enough to make it into a tournament list. They have real utility, they can be a great little flank hammer, similar to a lion chariot, they can get into combat and accept challenges to keep your lord sa...

Re: Old High Elf FAQ just taken down off GW's site

How would you word it then if it would stack? I think the wording would be the exact same. The reverse is actually very common in GW rules where it sais something like "if you have one or more of model X, then ...". This, so very much This. The wording normally, NORMALLY, emphasises when ...

Re: Old High Elf FAQ just taken down off GW's site

Both arguments, for and against, are valid here. It purely comes down to the word "Cancel". Some people say that means "removes" others say "stops taking effect" If it DOES mean remove then the enemy DOES get re-rolls If it means STOPS TAKING EFFECT then no re-rolls for...

Really nice stuff. You have really hit what the High Elves are all about with that colour scheme. Nice use of gold and silver together too.

Lots of work done there, and a really nice sky cutter too.

Great diorama!
