Re: Where the heck is everybody?

Not true actually. Especially on the longer term. Once Russia runs out of money for some reason or other, it is in serious trouble. I don't think the citizens will want to experience the hyperinflation of the 90's again any time soon. Putin needs EU money (from whatever he sells them) at least as b...

Re: Malekith, Vorshgar and the Circlet of Iron

The last invasion of Ulthuan was, if I remember well, with the aid of some forces of Chaos. Or rather, N'Kari was enslaved by Malekith and then an army coming down from the north made a pact with Morathi. The details of how that pact was achieved leave little doubt that it is largely the Cult's wor...

Re: Malekith, Vorshgar and the Circlet of Iron

And.. Malekith might think evil of Chaos but he is arrogant enough to believe he can beat it or control it. This has been made more apparent by his use of N'Kari in the Tyrion and Teclis novels. At least, that is my take on it. That used to be my take on it too but the last DE book changes a lot of...

Re: Malekith, Vorshgar and the Circlet of Iron

It strengthened his resolve that he is the answer against that power should he be king and that if he doesn't get his way, the world is doomed anyway. Of course only a Dark Lord of Naggaryth deals in absolutes. Nah, there are plenty of absolutes. For example, its pretty clear that "demons are ...

Re: Malekith, Vorshgar and the Circlet of Iron

Well, from the storytelling perspective: It would be most interesting if its a combination of factors and that the circlet only changed some of the tendencies that where present already inside Malekith. But knowing GW its likely just "it corrupted him" because GW tend to go with cheap gimm...

Re: Where the heck is everybody?

I didn't really get to talk with the patients, they're mostly the ICU so hardly ready for a chat. The article and the quoted text seem, for the most part, spot on. The situation is a mess and civil war is on the horizon. The agreement they signed satified no one and everybody started to breach it s...

Listening to it I have a few comments:

- The sound quality is still somewhat poor.
- Did those of you who propose Marx' revolution of the warhammer world actually... ever read Das Kapital or any of the other works of Karl Marx? Because your misapplying it. :P

Re: HE win US Masters!

Looking into the entry qualifiers, people have to enter into one of a handful of semi-local tourneys of moderate (place top 5) to large size (place top 10), just to get into the regionals. First place winners get get an automatic invite, and top 5 (or 10) from each tourney get an invite to regional...

Nice result, doesn't seem like a world-killer list to me. It's a majorly shooty list which in my experience (with taking shooty lists in 8th) means he probably his the jack pot in terms of the types of armies he had to face. If you read the other thread you'll see that this is'nt the only tournamen...

I think it is worth noting that mobile societies, I think "hunter-gatherer" isn't the best term but the only one I can come up with at the moment, like the Mongols and Native Americans actually tended to much more egalitarian than their contemporaries. Nomadic, thats the word your looking...

Re: Did we get shafted?

"There are treasures beyond the dreams of avarice in the vaults of even Ulthuan's meanest mansion, and the armouries of its kingdoms contain ten times as many enchanted weapons than there are Elves to wield them." I think this is an interesting point in the Army Book. You'd think all of t...

Re: Did we get shafted?

Well there are a lot of different type of scale armours so its hard to say without specific type of scale. Most of the time scales give less protection in comparison but were used for cheaper alternatives to mail or plate most of the time since it was a hell of a lot easier to make. It would have b...

On a different note, Ruerl, how do you find the difference between Chainmail and Scale, I seem to remember reading somewhere that scale offers less protection, but I can't remember where. I've not worked with scale nor tried to wear it so I cannot give it a fair response. There are furthermore so m...

The mongol horde and equeal rights for women

Interesting subject, no?

According to this article here there is a strong argument to be made that the mongols respected women far more than many of their contemporary societies, even to the point of letting them fight.

Its an interesting article and i'm interested in hearing your thoughts.

This way, you can almost always guess in which period something was happening. Timeslots of a few hundred years mean you should be right most of the time, even with only a vague notion of what was going on. Another advantage is that you can pretty much put all of warhammer into the medieval time sl...
