Re: 1250 Pts Caledorian Ladder League

The city of justice! I understand I also have 2 young kids and the responsibility comes first. I hope they eventually are interested in gaming so we can share the time. I hope you find a group eventually, would love to see some battle reports and tales of the matches. I've got an original box of He...

Re: High Elf Wave 3

The dual mage and both boxes of 32 spearmen and archers are in that preview, unless we're talking some different pack? Good point. I couldn't find the blog post about this wave, so I was going off memory. They're indeed included in this wave. Silver Helms are indeed weird to be the only unit remain...

Re: 1650 Points Cavalry Prince vs. OG

I also want to propose, that this is the kind of list where I think the Merwyrm might actually be relevant. Having a tough blocker that can hold a flank while your Cav engage where they want to might be worth considering. In smaller games, where opponents have fewer tools to deal with it, it can al...

Not as far as I can tell. There is a sub-reddit for Bretonnia I think. But I don't know how active that is.

Though of course, feel free to post Bretonnian stuff here on the forum as well.

Re: Rule quiestion about reforming and shooting

They can indeed. It's the same as all other maneuvres. So you count as having moved (which means you get -1 to hit and lose shots from the back ranks with volley fire), but you can shoot. It's different from 8th edition, which had the Swift Reform mechanism, which allowed you to move and / or shoot ...

Re: The army of Spires; assembly time

I can understand that approach and it is not that I do not like GW's Merwyrm. Still, I will have to think about this a bit more before investing in it. With my army hailing from the far-away city of Tor Elithis, I also feel there is also enough geographical distance to easily integrate other models...

Re: 1650 Points Cavalry Prince vs. OG

It looks like a very fun list. Mobile with the 4 chariots and the SH bus, and very flexible. One thought is that with the SW, the 2 great eagles, and the Reavers, you basically have 4 redirector / chaff units. Which is at least 2 and maybe even 3 to many in my opinion. If you drop the 2 eagles, that...

Re: 1250 Pts Caledorian Ladder League

I love all the cool terrain features you've got scattered throughout your games. It really does make for awesome battlefields. I really should have a look around for a group here that plays Warhammer, but I've had little luck in the past. It's mostly 40k (or Magic the Gathering) I keep finding... W...

Re: The Host of Tor Elithis - Campaigning in the Border Princes

I think the biggest issue with O&G is goblin Fanatics. Which, if he doesn't bring infantry, should be less of an issue. But watch out for those, especially if you bring big monsters of your own (same with ranked up infantry actualy, or anything for that matter). Vortexes are your friend here, si...

Re: Cathay Confirmed!!!

Is there any idea of when Cathay will be released? Thank you! Nope. It's up to GW undefined and mysterious planning. We'd originally be getting 2 or 3 HE waves that would include print to order, and they'd all be done by now. And we're at the moment looking at 4 HE waves at a minimum. Most informat...

Re: The Host of Tor Elithis - A Tale of the Elithesi

The Merwyrm one is nice, especially if you want to stick to a dragon theme. Though I actually like that the GW one is very different. It really is its own thing, not just a wet dragon. I've had a look around for printing services, and at least here in the Netherlands, there seems to be a fair few of...

I do want to get one of each of the chariots, so it's a good release. Then again, I still have plenty to assemble first, so there's no rush. I'm guessing these kits will be around for a while, so I can just get them in a few months :) I'm very excited to see Sky cutters for sale. The used market is ...

Re: Ring of Fury

There's exactly one scenario where having more than one is useful, and it's if you play another Helves player, they pick Vaul's Unmaking, the bearer of the ring can't move outside of 15", the spell goes off successfully and you don't dispell it. Then you still have a backup ring .-. - Incredib...

It's looking great and the sisters are shaping up nicely.

Let us know what the next model you're getting is going to be. I always enjoy putting together some of the bigger kits. And you keep finding some great alternative models.

Re: Ring of Fury

Can a champion of a unit of sisters be equiped with two Ring of Fury? Yes they can, since it's an extremely common magic item. However, and this is the important bit, they can only ever use 1. You're only allowed to cast a single bound spell per phase (BBB p109). So even if you have 6 rings of fury...

Re: Advice against O&G for returning player.

Also I just noticed that a reavers unit is more or less a skycutter... This is why our core units are sometimes referred to as core-tax. They're simply not very good, and for the same points you can usually find something better in special / rare. Few HE players will willingly take a lot of core un...

I do have to warn you though that the GW Skycutter isn't much better. It's also a very flimsy and easy to damage model. If anything, judging from the pictures I would say it's even flimsier that this model.... Well, in that case I just hope that GW's plastic is less easy to break than the resin use...

Re: The army of Spires; assembly time

It will be a while before the White Lions see paint I think. At the moment I'm mainly focussing on getting as many models assembled as possible, so making sure everything can be fielded in a game. So they'll stay naked for a while yet. I've got plenty of models to play and field mainly painted armie...

Re: Reworking the High Elf Book Updated 22/03/25

Personal opinion, but the biggest problem with the SGG list is the army composition options. Tbh yeah. Being just 25% core would be reasonable, all things considered. Other armies with 33% are getting special and rare choices shunted up into core, we may get drilled and Regimental added to it but s...

Re: 2k Sisters & Dragon list

I think a standard Great Weapon is a better choice on the prince, compared to the Biting Blade. It's cheaper, and S6 vs S4 is a world of difference. You lose the shield in combat, but you should get more than enough kills with the extra 2pts of S to make up the difference. And with Strike First on t...

How about a Cothique or Chracian mage? With that cloak, he could blend in with your Woodsmen and be said to hail from the same region. It would be fitting if you ever want to bring a lvl2 mage.

I think they would look splendid with either dark greens or dark browns. Added bonus, both green and brown are relatively easy to highlight as well. As for the armour, I painted my White Lions armour with a greenish gold hue. (there's a picture of them here: viewtopic.php?p=691818#p691818 ). Basical...
