Re: Henry Cavill on Warhammer

Nice find. I don't know any famous players. I did find the reaction of the show host interesting, and Henry Cavill's reaction feels familiar. It's someone who doesn't want to understand and sees "plastic toy figures you play with" and stops there. And Cavill feeling almost appologetic and ...

Re: Elendor's Host of the White Tower

I am now considering to repaint the other 21 Swordmasters I have with these colours, but laziness is probably stronger than me for now  As my painting improves my older mini's will start looking worse by comparission. However, I long ago decided to never repaint a mini unless there was nothing...

Re: Chumphammer's Daughters of Khaine Blog - Glory to Hellebron!

Not really related to anything, but I love the giant pile of dice in the bottom left corner of the first picture. Makes me want to pick 'em up and roll them. Not sure what it is about dice, but it's very satisfying to roll a million of them when attacking something. :) Pretty quick game from the loo...

I like how we've gotten a leak about when we're going to see a leak about miniatures... I'm moderately excited. I don't mind 7th edition and I didn't mind 8th edition. So picking the best of those will work for me. Aiming for a 9th edition type of game sounds good to me, especially if we skip flying...

They're spreading! Run!

A 7k gitz battle would be epic. You should find someone who wants to be eaten by your angry horde of skittles. And remember to take pictures for us ;)

Re: From Chracia with Love (and a Hawkship)

Great news about the greenstuff! I was just surprised to not find it on GW stores now, have they just done away with it? Seems like it. I could only find the liquid green stuff, which is pretty useless. I've tried that and it just doesn't work. Then again, GW green stuff was always on the expensive...

They're definitely a very agressive bag of skittles coming at you :) I love it. The hagglethorn hollow range looks great. You just sent me down a rabbit hole looking at printable terrain. I really should get myself a 3D printer ;) I do think it's where the hobby is headed. The price per model drops ...

What do you do on day 7? or is it a 6 day cycle? I can imagine it working, though I guess you have to tackle the other parts as well, not just the excercise part. If you don't target the "brain exhaustion" part by changing your habbits but only add excercise some people might simply get mo...

Yeah, phones tend to oversaturate images. It's a software thing. And it's either because it makes pictures look better (more vibrant and all that) or because phone reviewers like it and as such tend to give higher scores to camera's which take vibrant pictures compared to realistic ones. It is what ...

I like him, and I agree that the axe is a nice touch. As for where to get greenstuff, there's a fair few online stores that have it. Ebay is a pretty good source for greenstuff (though watch out for delivery fees, some sellers get creative with those...), you can find it on Amazon as well. And if yo...

Re: Mireadur's log. Refurbished Mounted Chracian lord 28/10/21

I like the horse. He's suitably imposing for the noble elf on top and the purple works well with the blue of the elf's robe. It does feel a bit like there's a mismatch between the highlighting of the puple cloth on the horse and the blue cloth of the elf. The blue has a very bright, white highlight ...

Wow, that looks amazing! The display board is as wonderful as the models are! I agree on the pointy tower being excelent, but the rest is great as well. How did you make the board?

The models are just epic. You've really captured the psychidelic madness of the Squigs.

Re: 1500 pts HE tournament list (8ed)

I'm not convinced by the bows on the reavers (except if you need them to get to the core points needed). I don't think those 5 S3 shots add anything. I think the main issue for infantry at 1500 pts is that units tend to be small and get shot to pieces fast (even more so at 1000 pts). This should fix...

I'm not sure if it's Codex Threadmill or simply changing company culture and increasing workload for the designers. When you're a small, flat company and everyone started at more or less the same time and you've been together for a long time you have a very different dynamic to when you're a stock-e...

I love Alith Anar as a fiction character. He's just such a bad-ass figure. He's also on my "Models to try in an army" list of models. I've even already got a list for him (which pushes the shadow warrior factor heavily) here: https://ulthuan.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=80&t=88348 Now all...

I can't paint any more of these, they were a complete slog and almost killed my enthusiasm and motivation for the project completely. It was like I'd hit a wall. Re: The Cavalry Prince - List Design, Tactics, Battle Reports

Agreed on all counts, SA. as a matchup it's the classic war-machine-list problem of Crush Your Enemies vs Get Rolled Over, depending on whether you hit or miss. Curu Olannon held that armies which can push have an advantage here because if things go bad they can usually run away and preserve quite ...

Haha, that really does seem like a near-universal feeling. They're great models, but you do have to play "find the gem" with them... You did a great job on both the reavers and swordmasters. Thanks for sharing them!

That sounds pretty brutal. Maybe the only way to really deal with him is to kill the rest of the army while you keep Archaon busy and grab as many objectives as you can. It will probably depend on your opponent to make mistakes for it to work, but it's probably a better option than throwing models i...

I'm slightly excited, though also a bit cautious. GW has a tendency to simply drop something and leave people out in the cold if they feel like it. But new models are always great and the new rules might be good or fun. We'll see. The main problem I do see is that the gaming community is a lot more ...

Re: The Cavalry Prince - List Design, Tactics, Battle Reports

I personally think an archmage and a loremaster don't work very well together. Both want to use most of your powerdice. And while you get a great array of spells, this makes the combination suffer from diminishing returns. The two separate mages do cost about as much as the loremaster, but I think t...

I think part of it was your Turn 2. It was pretty much a wasted turn for you where you dealt no damage and didn't offer up any new threats while on the HE turn 2, you took a lot of damage. With your general's unit depleted and your stone thrower lost it was an uphill battle from there. I'm also wond...

It's really going from bad to worse for the O&G. THat one turn where you failed to do much damage is now really hurting. Not a lot you can do anymore. Your army is slowly being picked apart and your options are very limited. To come back I think you'd need some very lucky shooting, a big magic p...

Congrats with the win. A shame you ran out of time. I feel that with a 4th turn in there and all your heavy hitters still at full health you should have been able to table most of his army. I was surprised you went for the left flank with the dragon and phoenix. It felt like a very risky move to me....

Man, that was a harsh turn for the Orcs. It did show the fickle nature of (O&G) dice and the power of a scroll. Even a turn half as deadly as the previous one would have been hard to recover from. Now it's a lot more even. I think the O&G still have a slight positional advantage. There's sti...

That reads like a fun battle. That was a phyric victory if I ever saw one... The cannons easily dealing with the chariots is a fact of life in 7th ed. It makes them a less optimal choice in a lot of army lists. It's a shame, because they often look amazing. I'm glad you liked the dragon mage. I've r...
