Re: Loren is rising - getting my asrais back into shape.

That's the downside that comes with spending time painting. You get better, and when you look back at previous work you realize how much better you could do now.

Re: A new painting blog - New troll unit Complete

I quite like the trolls. And completing a project has a way of leading into the next, as long as you can keep it going. It is nice to see people still on here, and still plugging away on the lead pile.

Re: Painting again

Banner is done. 6 Amazons are done, and 6 more are nearly done. After that it's the bases and then pictures.

Re: Painting again

Still haven't done that banner, and I'm not quite sure what the hold up is. However I do have 6 amazons about 80% done, so progress is still being made.

Re: Painting again

It's been a long time. But other than a banner, a shield, and the bases I just finished two of the dragon masters riders, and horsed for them. Hopefully pictures will come before to long. I'm excited to have made progress again. Next I will likely work on some Amazons again. Or maybe I'll just finis...

Re: Painting again

thanks for the encouragement guys it does help. I got some models that were in progress back on the bench and decided what colors need to be used next. I doesn't sound like much, but it's been awhile, I have to figure out what I'm doing again haha.

Re: Painting again

It's been a very long time since I checked in here. I've not been painting much, but I'm starting to start up again. I did finish up the bases on a couple warmaster units, so hopefully I can get pictures of them up here soon.

Re: Painting again

It's pretty bad right now. Painting for more than about 15 minutes leads to a lot of pain. I don't get enough done in 15 miniutes to justify starting.

Re: Painting again

First the good news. I'm recovered from the Covid, and I don't have carpel tunnel. The bad news is that I get to go see some Drs about arthritis. Carpel tunner would have been much easier to treat, but figuring out the issue will at least be helpful

Re: Painting again

I've been away awhile. It's nice to see all activity on Ulthuan though. I've been having an issue with carpel tunnel, so painting is difficult. I'm supposed to start the process to get that corrected next week. Unfortunatly I seem to have some Covid symptoms, so I'm hoping the test comes back fast e...

You've made a lot of progress for sure. The metalics on that spearman are very much improved. Nice work.

Re: Looking for Highelf Shields (with dragon)

Thanks guys, but with bluestuff i can replicate the ones i have. I already got another idea... ;) It's the first time I come across bluestuff, after reading about it here I have found out how it works and it seems fantastic. In the past I have made moulds out of wax, but it does not work that well ...

I've got a few of the old embossed ones I think. I know I've got some green stuff copies. If those interest you, you can have to copies for postage.

Very nicely done on the replacement stands. I'm not sure how I feel about the beheading of Jess Goodwin goodness, but since you did it back then and it looks fine so it's ok haha.

I forgot to add the sisters of averlorn to my ranking. I guess just before new Alarielle. Maybe before the 7e mage. I remember a fair bit of debate about if they were even female when we saw the first pictures.

Re: The Host of Lionstone [UPDATE 7.5. Alarielle the Everque

I'm really glad I picked up the finecast handmaiden as part of what remains my only purchase of new GW minis from a store since 2002. I also gave in and bought the finecast everqueen off ebay. I figued the finecast ones aren't like metal where I can buy them years later and strip them. Nice job on y...

Re: Painting again

In general I’m not a huge fan of really old models (heresy, I know!), but the heavily armoured horses are pretty cool. There is no accounting for taste  But I understand, I'm not a fan of most of the 8e stuff, and AoS stuff is just appalling to me. Yet I'm pretty sure others like it. Will be ...
