Re: Made to order has arrived
I truly like the noble with the Axe. But of these, I only own the shield and sword guy. I remodelled the minifigure to include the arm of the Dragon prince champion, so now has sword pointing upwards instead of downwards - a more powerful pose.

Re: The army of Spires; assembly time
Which edition of WH do you play?
I am looking forward how you paint the metal bolt thrower. I own like 4 of those, it is quite the sight to see them on the table top. I never liked the 2nd last metal bolter.

Re: The army of Spires; assembly time
Oooohw, those archers are great! How do you feel about mixing different styles? I always really liked those 6th edition models, but I also obtained the high elf book when I was ~11 and I was completely stoked. Nostalgia overload, maybe. At one point, I sold all 5th (unipose spears and bolters) and 7...

Re: The army of Spires; assembly time
This is definitely an impressive army (and list!). Very impressive to have such a big unit of Maiden Guards, one of the pinnacle units of 6th Edition. Only 1 Tiranoc, is this the Metal one? During COVID times, I bought 4 metal ones and painted 2. There are still 2 still lying around somewhere. I def...

Re: On GW and D&D
Hi all! GW shares have been on the up for some time but honestly I’d be astonished to see them cornering the market in MtG and D&D as well! If they manage it they’ll be the Google of fantasy IP. Perhaps it’s academic when literally all the Pathfinder games I play use GW models in any case. I no...

Re: [6th Edition]
Long time no see! These holidays I brought my army home for some 6th edition fun :D One Saturday evening we had enough time for a 3-player battle as described in Warhammer Chronicles 2003. While the most famous battle of three armies is of course La Maisontaal Abbey, we decided to use the "sta...

Re: Corona Autumn Campaign Four-round derby!
You should be nicer to your girlfriend ;) Every now and then such a battle is fun to have, where everything goes south from the start. And from what I remember, the crumble rules were very harsh in 6th edition. Nothing much that can be said about the battle. For deployment I do wonder if the centra...

Re: Corona Autumn Campaign Four-round derby!
Asuryan Cavalry versus Nehekharan Monsters Round 3 Round 3!!! This time, we decided to change army list composition. I suspected a more shooting heavy list and I wanted to try a Comet list myself. I should probably be playing Cavalry with Archmage, but I played more a hybrid list with five small un...

Re: Corona Autumn Campaign Four-round derby!
Bone Giant in 6th has stats like a regular giant, except that it has a 3+ armour save This would make a big difference in 8th as well. It would! Not sure why that part got nerfed for TK's in 8th. But then again, the whole flair, uniqueness and punch of Tomb Kings got badly hit in 8th anyway. Even i...

Re: Size Swordmasters Units
Hi all, I have played warhammer in several editions, I'm using Warhammer Renaissance at this point and I'm planning to use either 9th age or The Warhammer Armies Project as well to play with my High Elves. Question: do (in any edition you ar willing to talk about) larger units (say 10+) of Swordmas...

Re: Corona Autumn Campaign Four-round derby!
Looks like a fun battle. I think there may have been 2 issues. The first is that you put too much trust in the prince + griffon. Griffons re not bad (though they're not great either), but they aren't very good as a main combat unit. This makes them very different from a dragon (or many other monste...

Re: Corona Autumn Campaign Four-round derby!
Asuryan Cavalry versus Nehekharan Monsters Round 2 Deployment This time I liked the terrain better, and choosing table side was a no brainer here. For TK, it mean either corner up with the catapult or left of the big forest, which, combined with difficult terrain, would impair support for the big b...

Asuryan Cavalry versus Nehekharan Monsters Round 1 Deployment: The idea was to smash the big blocks of cavalry supported by Tiranocs in a flanking position on the big blocks of undead, then inflict as much Combat Resolution points to crumble the lot. However, girlfriend outsmarted me and put everyt...

Re: Corona Autumn Campaign Four-round derby!
Cool! Looking forward to the battle reports. I've never learned much about Tomb Kings, this could be an opportunity (even though you are not playing with 8th ruleset) Tomb Kings are a very poor-performing army in 8th. They lost their character, their special rules and, most notably, their intended ...

Corona Autumn Campaign Four-round derby!
Dear Asurian Friends, My last posts here already date back from about two years ago (amazing). Corona is an obvious incentive to reopen your boxes and move the miniatures to the table. So, this is what my girl and I did. The ageold Battle for the Dishes. Jokes aside, we played a total of four (!) 22...

Yup, we managed to do it! We made pictures this time. Next week, I will try and make a nice batrep out of this. It took a full 5 hours to play out. But it was accompanied by 90s music and selfmade cake, so it wasn't all that bad
. Will keep you all updated!

Re: [6/7th] 3500 vs Tomb Kings
It's funny because on the charge 7th ed Dragon Princes were better than 6th ed Chosen Chaos Knights The power creep was real in 7th. It definitely was. And the HE book really started it off. The 8th ed. army books were a lot better in that regard I think. Though some were underpowered, most were pr...

Re: A New Blog
Very much so. Already because losing a 300-ish points (400?) unit at 2500pts is not nice but also definitely not the end of the world. Especially if you can make something happen elsewhere on the field while your opponent is busy with the 300points. It was a bit uglier than that because all three c...

Re: [6/7th] 3500 vs Tomb Kings
I did consider Bolt Throwers, but I doubt I can win the standstill. So I decided to invest points in mobility, rather than ballistics. I trust on my (stable) power dices to deal with the fast threats! Yeah, I get this. Rob Lane's very successful armies were either all-attack or heavy shooting. Armo...

Re: [6/7th] 3500 vs Tomb Kings
Looks pretty balanced Flame, magic (which it’ll need against TK’s) is strong, it’s got combat threat (though I doubt the Phoenix Guard). Shooting’s a bit light. Did you consider RBT? Thank you :D . I also doubt the Phoenix Guard, but hey, I never used them in 6th for a reason. As such, I would real...
