Dark elf assassins
Fogreworld have just released these https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-GB/Bloo ... ssins-2018
Despite being for bloodbowl, they aren't actually catching or throwing a ball and look good for aos/8th/9th. Also cheaper than buying gw assassins!

Re: Some (As Yet Unpainted) Trolls
Furies is about it, but they're daemons rather than WOC I think? Isn't most of the WOC range in plastic anyway apart from the characters and chosen?
Anyway, get those trolls painted! Looking forward to seeing them.

Re: MSU Elves - KoW - Clash of Kings Australia
Thanks for the detailed reply. I'll come back in a bit with some comments, but it is a very different game. I was caught out straight away by not having both sides attacking in the same turn! I thought I could hold up a giant, but apparently not!
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

Re: MSU Elves - KoW - Clash of Kings Australia
Hi SM
Thanks for the battle reports. I'm just starting kow, I don't suppose you've got any pointers for a beginner?
I can probably field anything using high elf models, but I'm not sure where to start!
Thanks

My son has just chosen an iron maiden CD for his birthday! I'm so proud. It is his 9th birthday, or 2 1/4, seeing as he's a leap year baby.

Re: What are you reading?
Might be time to go back and read some Terry Pratchett. I agree, the earlier ones, while humerous in their own weird fantastical setting and characters, aren't as funny as the middle ones, probably getting into his office around about Pyramids and Guards. There are so many good characters though. I ...

What are you reading?
So, after what are you listening to threw up a few interestingly choices and certainly got me listening to music I wouldn't normally listen to, I thought I'd start a similar thread on reading. I'm currently reading dirk gently's holistic detective agency, by Douglas Adams. I remember reading this wh...

That is a nice unit!
A couple of painting/modelling questions from someone who isn't very good.
What do you base the horses on? Actual horses or warhammer painted models?
Also, highlights or dry brush?

Re: Cavalry Prince Reloaded
Definitely a bit Roman, even though they are better remembered for the round or rectangular shields, although the correct terms escape me at the moment! I first thought of Norman shields, thought that might be the angle (if I turn my tablet round it autorotates and I can't stop it), or maybe the col...

Re: Static Res in 8th
Anyway - for Marienburg (and any battle before that) we're going for Rank Bonus and Banners from more than 1 unit and Steadfast working when you have a higher Rank Bonus (not ranks) than enemy. We'll see how it goes and if it affects the game in any important way. Let us know how it goes, it sounds...

Re: Static Res in 8th
Purely from a monetary cost, I'm not a big fan of having more ranks providing more static res . I started to dislike really big units as I started seeing proxies or unpainted models stuck in the back ranks. I'm sure SA would agree about having the correct models properly painted before entering a to...

Re: Magnets
As said before, 2mm neodymium magnets work a treat. I've got mine off eBay and they've been fine. It's worth using a small drill to locate it first, if the model allows, so it doesn't stand proud. Super glue and greenstuff are your friend!

Re: Lake Town Houses
Ruins of osgiliath is a lovely set. I've just measured the loremaster against it and he just fits through the big arch, but that includes his big sword. Archers sit nicely on the top and look OK. I'd definitely get it, looking forward to the lake town houses as well.

Just because it's Saturday evening, thought I'd post here again. I know you said old school SA, I didn't realise you meant that old school!
Looking good though. Any chance of a close up of your prince (I'm assuming that's who he is - middle front row).
Lovely free hand on the banner.

Re: Rogue One (Spoilers)
I liked it, the sarcastic imperial droid was a nice touch. Obviously we know how it ends, but it was nice to see Vader slicing his way through all those rebels in the last few minutes, reminding us just what a badass he is. I also liked the death star commander originally played by Peter Cushing - a...
