Re: Elendor's Host of the White Tower

Very nice, looks great! Thanks for posting the model info too, I'd like to find something plastic, that isn't as big as the LotR eagles I'm currently using.

Re: Warhammer: The Old World

I'm betting there'll be a Ravening Hordes type of supplement if not outright full Army Books at release for everything, although I would think that far less likely.

Re: Ulthuan Rallies for War

Amazing job as usual ! They feel even more contrasted then before. Did you use more wash on the recess ? Or maybe paint a darker line between the surfaces ? Thanks guys, appreciate it! And nope, same colors and washes I've been using for my entire army, usually it's a lighting thing that makes 'em ...

Re: Ulthuan Rallies for War

Finally got ten of these Island of Blood Lothern Sea Guard. Holy hell, they're awesome models, but much like the Reavers, they are PACKED with detail. I've never spent so much time on rank and file infantry. And I've got thirty more... Anyway, here are the first ten, basing still needs to be done, b...

Looking forward to seeing how you did this weekend. I have such a hard time putting together a High Elf list at 2k, I can't imagine having to shave 500 points off and making it competitive.

Re: A new painting blog - Phoenix Guard WIP

Phoenix Guard are looking good so far! And I'm incredibly jealous of your lot find. Been trying to find 10 more 8th Edition White Lions and the prices are INSANE. Happy stripping, and looking forward to that White Lion horde once it's all painted up!

Re: Mireadur's log. Chracian noble 23/10/21

Don't know why they are so expensive compared to other HE elite infantry. I'm guessing it's because people really loved making them into Alarielle death stars in 8th, so they're harder to find now? I've wanted to beef up my unit of 20 to at least 30 so I can have some flexibility and potential MSU ...

Re: A new painting blog - Gigantic Spider complete

I have a soft spot in my heart for Orcs and Goblins, and if weren't a lazy sack, I'd love to start an army for them. I'll just live vicariously through your glorious paint jobs here though. That's a great spider, and love your terrain/basing work.

You probably already know this, but I found that LA's Totally Awesome works wonders compared to Simple Green. Just in case you're looking to really get those models squeeky clean.

Re: Azaam's journey to his full painted army

Ugh, the Lothern Sea Guard, another incredible model from the Island of Blood set that gives me fatigue before even starting on them. SO. MUCH. DETAIL. But looking forward to seeing them in your army's colors, I'm sure they're going to look awesome!

Re: Ulthuan Rallies for War

Thanks again, folks! I'm with you Olthannon, I was only financially able to start collecting Warhammer right when the 8th edition starter box arrived, with High Elves and Skaven. I took the High Elf half and my friend took the Skaven half. I've always wanted to have a complete Island of Blood set fo...

Re: From Chracia with Love (and a Hawkship)

Welcome back! Love the color scheme, very Chracian for sure. Those monopose plastic spearmen elicit a nostalgia that I don't feel I should actually have since I didn't get into Warhammer until 8th, but they get me all the same. Looking forward to repaints and new additions to the army!

Re: Ulthuan Rallies for War

Tyrren, the army looks fantastic. It's great to see some real battle photos. I appreciate the balancing kids / minis problem... That's tricky. I suppose you could serialise your batreps. Like early Dickens novels. SA does this. I'm thinking about stealing the method myself so we don't end up with t...

Re: Ulthuan Rallies for War

Hahaha Absolutely. They are so rich in detail, particularly the alternating blue/white sashes. In the time it took me to paint one Reaver, I painted six Swordmasters. But I was actually motivated by your beautiful unit of Reavers to get them finished and not cut corners, because when they're done, t...

Re: Ulthuan Rallies for War

Been trying to find time to get some painting done, but after moving, and getting settled in, I was sapped of motivation and energy to get something done. But thankfully, after a vicious defeat at the hands of my friend's Skaven army, I found the motivation to paint up some Ellyrian Reavers to repla...

The next step will be to finish the Ellyrian reavers ! I'm not too far from finishing them but hell there's a lot of details ! I understand the fatigue people are talking about when they're painting these models. They're great but they're definitely not easy to paint ! Yep, just started in on mine,...

Re: A new painting blog - Mangler Squigs COMPLETE

Yeah, I think the casting detail loss is fine, especially with squigs. Just turns out the last batch of squigs the Gobbos bred were a little off! That Frostheart is making me want to start on mine and throw it in a list, good job! Also, that Warboss looks deadly.

Re: Ulthuan Rallies for War

The idea is more (at least, that's the argument my regular opponent made when he proposed the same idea) that more spells go through, which is fun, since everyone loves a good fireball. Yep, that's basically it! Warhammer is so chaotic and swingy, I think magic makes for some great big moments. It ...

Re: Ulthuan Rallies for War

I might have been tempted to take a Dispel Scroll and a couple more magic standards I guess I kinda took a cue from the Mini Wargaming folks and opted to let magic do stuff, so I didn't bring a dispel scroll. I think going forward, we're going to skip dispel scrolls since our games are pretty much ...
