Re: Furion HE

Hi Furion! Great list, used to play a silver helm bus with the old book but with two phoenixes it looks hard as nails! You haven't thought of swapping one phoenix for a flamespyre for a chance of removing weakened redirectors in the movement phase? Feels like flesh to stone would cover up for the ot...

2400 of Shooty Avoidance

Hi guys! Here's a shot at a 2,4k list with the new book, mainly shooty supported by a shadow archmage and with some counter-punch from tiranocs, silver helms and swordmasters. Not 100% happy with the list yet but will try to get some games in next week and see how it does. Swordmasters aren't really...

Re: WikiLeaks legitimacy?

It's also not just an issue of retracting their support, it's an issue of freezing considerable amounts of funds (70k if I remember correctly) and shutting down websites, directly restricting Wikileaks' ability to practice freedom of speech. Private companies are restricting who they allow to use t...

Re: WikiLeaks legitimacy?

Both of these have been done by private companies (as far as I am aware of) who also have a right to voice their opinions (through business decisions). This is really no different than Tiger Woods sponsors dropping him when he was caught in a scandal. If there was government pressure, it is a very ...

Re: WikiLeaks legitimacy?

Wait.... You guys are expecting the US government to treat a non-citizen the same as it would treat a citizen? And you expect the government to follow the constitution when dealing with Assanage? At least they could treat him according to the United Nations universal declaration of human rights and...

Re: WikiLeaks legitimacy?

The right to free speech guarantees you the right to have your own opinion and be able to voice it. It does NOT, however, guarantee you the right to say whatever you want with no consequences. Same thing goes for freedom of the press. And the due process principle should prevent the government from...

Or maybe build a cool unit filler for the LSG from the second griffon. I guess you could fill 6 or 9 spots with it on a big base, maybe standing on the ground or on a rock. :) Easier said than done, though...

Re: WikiLeaks legitimacy?

There is a huge amount of stuff that's "a bit more important" than that. And only 1% of the cables has been released. These are revelations of a magnitude that any moral doubts of Wikileaks' means of action are totally overshadowed. Or at least should be. Following a number of medias, I'm ...

Honestly, what percentage of the people in the world use IE? Out of 7 people in my close family that i know their preferred browser, I can think of 1 that continually uses IE. At least a slightly larger group of people than your study suggests (at least for now): http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/b...

Re: FIFA

I guess they are hoping that Qatar will be able to fix some of its problems until 2022. The Cup in a country of 1,6 million people, of which 75% are essentially slaves, where there is no middle class and where women's rights are still quite restricted doesn't seem like a good thing to me. Sadly, eve...

Re: 1st game ever vs Warriors of Chaos!

WoC has some tools against dragons, but all need skill to use. A slaaneshi giant is my favourite, although getting him into combat with the dragon isn't the easiest thing to do. Sacrificing units and having the Rapturous Standard in a surprising place often works, though. Important WoC units are dur...

Re: New to HE, 2250 pt list, (1st attempt)

I think if you only want an archmage, with no lvl2 or banner of sorcery support, it's got to be lvl4+ RingofCorin+RingofFury+2Scrolls. Then pick an easy lore with some magic missiles and blast RoF-2dicemissile-4dicemissile. Everyone's gonna assume you've got three scrolls with the first ring so then...

It's pretty easy to do, even with Paint. Just open it in Paint, pick Resize/Skew from Image and then save the finished product again.

Come gather 'round trolls, you jerks, pedos and tools
And admit that your reign around here is gone
And accept it that soon you'll be all banned for good
If your account to you is worth savin'
Then you better start behavin' or you'll fly like the Fool
For the times they are a-changin'.

If I've got a deadline (like a tournament coming up) I can paint 1k in a week or two. If I've got all the time in the world, though, I'd say 1k per year is pretty much on spot. :D

There's one word the first prisoner can say that will sacrifice himself, but enable the rest of the prisoners to live (assuming they knew the game was going to happen ahead of time and could plan together what he would say). Re: The Ulthuan Jacuzzi - Come Relax!

You have two pieces of rope. You know each piece burns exactly 30 minutes, in a non-linear fashion (ie, the rope doesn't take 15 minutes to burn halfway or 10 minutes to burn a third). How can you time exactly 45 minutes from those pieces? First burn one piece of rope and then set fire to the other...

I like the last draft. If I were you I'd be tempted to drop the other archers for 5 ellyrians, possibly with bows. If you take a minimum unit of reavers I guess you can squeeze two more phoenix guard to the list too. Those reavers could help with some of the trouble one has against dwarfs. When the ...

Rulebook FAQ part 2 tells us in the very first addressed question that crossing during a charge isn't allowed unless it increases the models in base contact. So, in your example it would have been allowed. :)

But do war machines really have a 360 degree LoS or is it just that they get a free pivot for shooting purposes? And also, how does Wall of Fire work on monsters and handlers like the hydra?

Re: Mustering the host for Uprising 2010 under ETC rules

I believe ETC doesn't allow any model to fire at two different targets, which means that the Seafarer bow and the breath weapon must be used at the same target. Because of that I would seriously consider the griffon. Otherwise quite nice, some magical close combat attacks wouldn't hurt, though. Mayb...

Re: Tough as a feather... Need help!

I can't quite see why high elves should stay tighter than other armies. Of all my armies (wood elves, orcs 'n' gobbos and warriors of chaos) I find it easiest to form two separate functional flanks with high elves. With easy access to cheap, ultra-mobile disposable units and a great variety of diffe...
