Re: Old World Almanack – Your First Look at the Rules
I'm very happy to see unit strength return. Especially for things like fear.

Re: Old World Almanack – Your First Look at the Rules
I really like the idea of formations and things in the movement phase with the different formations. I like that there's a lot of crunch to what they're previewing. Rerolls for people with a high BS, rules for hitting when you need a 7+, etc.

Old World Almanack – Your First Look at the Rules
https://www.warhammer-community.com/2023/10/30/old-world-almanack-your-first-look-at-the-rules/ Looks like we've got a Turn Sequence for the Old World now. Looks pretty reasonably familiar just with magic moving into relevant phases based upon the type of spell. Certainly seems like it'll be exciti...

I remember hearing about it but I've never tried it. Was it enjoyable?
Yeah, 6 player wargames sound like not the best to judge a game on.

Re: Why is Imrik missing?
Yeah, they went through all that trouble making the really nice elf on dragon kit and didn't give him new stats to go with it. He'd have been easy to build just with what was on the existing sprues too. Heck I think he's in some of the pictures they used in the 8th edition High Elf codex to boot. Wo...

Re: Oldhammer, Middlehammer & Newhammer
Any news on this lately? Rumors still have it happening sometime in 2023 so there hasn't been a lot of news about it lately which is understandable given how hard they're pushing the new Horus Heresy edition. Wargamer.com had a running article if you haven't seen everything so far: https://www.warg...

Re: Oldhammer, Middlehammer & Newhammer
I wouldn't put Age of Sigmar in there. Not that I presently have any problems with it. Third edition has been a ton of fun to play with my friends but it's a completely different type of game with completely different lore and mechanics. It's not *completely* disconnected but so distantly removed it...

Re: Path to Glory
What is it that makes 3rd edition different from the two before it? Well there's a fair amount of changes between the second and third editions. Second was still an actual game as opposed to that farce of first edition but third is even more so. Also the newer GW style of actually paying some atten...

Path to Glory
Has anyone been doing any of the new Path to Glory narrative campaigns for 3rd edition? We've been having a fair amount of fun with it. Feels like 3rd edition is a lot more of a game my circle can enjoy and we've built up a lot of forces. We're kind of using it as just a framework to just play games...

Oh absolutely. It's both entirely possible to go too far and obviously has on occasion. At the moment it seems like GW is intent on correcting those kinds of imbalances so if that would continue I think it'd likely turn out at least interesting.

Re: Warhammer: The Old World
Well some imbalance is what makes it Warhammer.
Key word being /some/. Games can be over balanced. Not that I expect it from GW but I feel that strongly enough to at least bring it up.

Re: Warhammer: The Old World
Yeah. Bell of Lost Souls had this article with a lot of rumors that were posted on Faeit 212 . Rumors are saying 7th edition with influences from surrounding editions, which I've got no real problems with if that's true. Still years out it seems like either way. (As an aside, always annoyed at peopl...

Re: Is there a summary of how I can play HE in AoS 3.0?
Unlike the older editions of Age of Sigmar, all in my own personal opinion of course, this third edition of the game seems to be a lot more interesting. Our club has actually picked it up and we're pushing above a thousand points in our Path to Glory campaign. I find it's a worthy game and recommend...

Re: Warhammer the old world
No, I was specifically talking about my community of friends and people who played Warhammer Fantasy. Nothing was picked up to replace it, no games of the old system were played, etc. No fan made continuations, no kings of war, no game of thrones, no historical, no just play older editions. Nothing.

Re: Warhammer: The Old World
Thank goodness we know what The Old World is actually supposed to be now. I'm very curious what the rules will end up looking like and how they're going to present models to people. Just rule books? Rules and then reboxed kits? Forgeworld only? I have so many questions!

Re: Warhammer the old world
Well now that they've actually said what it's actually supposed to be I'm much more interested. They did some really vague teasing originally but now that we know it's an actual blocks of troops war game that's going to draw from rules ranging from third to eighth edition of Warhammer Fantasy Battle...

Re: Line of Sight Rules question.
Well, if I'm remembering correctly, it's true line of sight. So you're expected to get in close and try and decide that based upon your judgement if the unit can make out what it's targeting. So it's possible a unit might block line of sight, or it might not. I don't believe they provide any cover e...

Old World announcement and now "Pointy" Aelves.
So we had the initial announcement a few weeks ago of work starting on The Old World and square bases being teased, but now they've got rumors of even newer elves more in line with what used to be at least from the artwork used to described them with this spring. So new elves. Anyone seen anything a...

Second Edition
Hey, it looks like the materials are out for second edition and it's looking a lot more like an actual game this time around. It's still not Warhammer Fantasy, but at least this feels less like a slap in the face. Aelfs also seem to have some showing on the factions page.

Re: Anyone playing this?
Well the game I played certainly felt familiar. The scenario we did heavily favoured my opponent while being completely detrimental to me. Opponent had twice the models on the table and those models had better in pretty much every way: number of attacks, rend, bravery, etc. Got tabled by demons in l...

Re: Anyone playing this?
I'm just curious. The FLGS near me is starting a biweekly slowgrow league and all these elves are just laying around. There are points and the company actually seems to want to make it a game now, plus there are Swifthawk Agent stuff that seems like I can field an actual elf army so I'm going for it...
