In my oppinion you have to be able to threthen long to prevent an opponent from rushing you, combat reform and flyers make it harder to stall and angle. You opponents will have much better lists and just roll over you small units.
and any skilled opponent won't let you surround and multi charge his units.

I think you should take heavens for the L4 it's a god and easy lore he will be using all the dices so the scroll caddy only have to be level 1. A normal magic phase is a roll of 7 dices 3+4
so oppnent have 7pd you have 4dd.

If the opponent have one big spell he want to cast he will take 5 dices and roll 3+4+3+4+3 so having only 4 dices you will on adverige be 3 behind
so in teori it make no difrence in defence.

Looking at you games i think you should give you BSB a Star Lance - you play against alot of armour so it would give you unit a much better charge and make him more of a threat against opponents heroes and to finnish e.g a wounted chariot.
