Re: 3D Printed Bits
Since you are talking of metal models missing halberds I assume you are talking about the 6th edition ones. The best looking version in my opinion. I have made mine from original parts, with a blue sfuff mould and a cast in a mix of milliput and green stuff. OK result, passable at a distance but not...

Re: Ulthuan Rallies for War
I would have loved to paint these two models, but I managed to sell them unpainted for a very nice price, so I won't complain.
Yours are very nice, they should look good on the battlefield.

Re: Warhammer Armies Project
I've never looked much into WAP and 9th Edition, maybe I should.
From what I can see it seems very close to 8th Edition in term of rules - but how much, can anyone tell?
Also, how widely played is it?
Who writes the new army books?
Both facts and opinions welcome

Re: The Rings of Power
I don't have a problem with the title. It broadcasts clearly when the series is set and what it is about. Instead of a very generic remote time setting, they have chosen a turning point that has massive repercussions in history, which therefore has great dramatic potential, while leaving a lot of cr...

Re: Mireadur's log. Full Averlon handmaiden unit 09/2/22
Really nice!
Both the quality of the painting and the miniatures, you don't need the models to be "modern" for them to look good.
There are plenty of vintage ones that are not just characterful, but definitely great.

Very beautifully painted, as usual, but I've never managed to like the models, apart perhaps the handmaiden.
The others to me are ugly sculpts, including Alarielle.
I hope COVID has not hit you bad and that you are recovering without long term effects.

Flipping heck, what an impressive piece!
It does help that it is a rare and gorgeous model, but it takes some good painting to make it shine.
Well done!

Are you going to start another thread for your nascent CD army?
It would be fascinating for me to see some of these exotic models.
Also some pictures of the arcane Magnum Opus would be interesting.
Looking forward to the development of this thread into something bigger!

Thanks Rod.
I just made the unit this big because I could (the freedom of printing your own stuff!) but I doubt I'll have the points in my army to use all the models.

Re: A new painting blog - Phoenix Guard WIP
Quite a bit of progress lately. Perhaps it does not show well, and picture quality is crap (used the phone not a proper camera), but the unit is starting to look the way I want it to. Now I have to clean it up and work on the details, will certainly be time consuming. The cloaks are more desaturated...

I think the master move that turned the battle was positioning there those Reavers.
It totally bottled up the Empire's maneuver.

Re: Fitzlock's High Elves - The Glittering Host of Avelorn
When I got my DP's fortunately they cam pre-assembled. Regarding the priming, perhaps now is the time to invest in an airbrush? For approximately $90/£90 you can get a good compressor with tank that will last forever and a basic double action airbrush that is perfectly adequate for priming and highl...

Re: A new painting blog - Phoenix Guard WIP
Thanks SA! A couple of days ago a bought a job lot of White Lions and Sisters of Avelorn on eBay. Today my purchase arrived and it turns out it is even sweeter than I expected. Deals like this don't happen often. 13 5th Ed WL's, 40 6th Ed WL's, 16 8th Ed WL's and 14 Sisters of Avelorn at a very good...

Re: Mireadur's log. Chracian noble 23/10/21
OK I finally cracked and bought a shedload of White Lions on eBay. Don't know why they are so expensive compared to other HE elite infantry. Also got several Sisters of Avelorn. Anyhow I will have more than I can paint, so hopefully I'll make some of the money back as I sell the excess. But first, t...

I have a soft spot in my heart for Orcs and Goblins, and if weren't a lazy sack, I'd love to start an army for them. I'll just live vicariously through your glorious paint jobs here though. That's a great spider, and love your terrain/basing work. You are way too kind about my painting skills, what...

Re: Mireadur's log. Chracian noble 23/10/21
hey guys. Long hiatus but im back with strength after 4 long months unable to grab a brush, i kept looking at those ugly handmaiden models for days and days until i had an epiphany and grabbed a different, and more appealing, model. If a model turns you off, drop it. It's for fun, not work. Those h...

Re: A new painting blog - Gitilla WIP
It's been a while since I last posted on my own thread and an update is in order. I have been very busy at work in September, but lately I have picked back painting, on the heels of an important acquisition: an airbrush. It is certainly a learning curve, but it's been a lot of fun so far. Even in my...

Re: Fitzlock's High Elves - The Glittering Host of Avelorn
I really like the stealth tones, they fit well with the character.
And as usual, very slick brush work.
I have just got myself an airbrush, so I hope I'll be able to post better blended models soon
