Re: Lords of the West Battle Report series

I wish I had those super pretty and headgear sensible 6th edition Phoenix Guards instead. My dudes took as much time to form up as to paint. And painting took literally ages :? Alright, I will take your advice and put away the Sisters project for a while (they will queue nicely after a veritable mou...

Re: Lords of the West Battle Report series

Interesting thought. I don't know if there are any numbers available to research this. It could very well be true. In my experience the army who has the initiative tends to win. It lets you dominate the flow of the battle and allows you to chose which combats to fight and which to avoid. One way I'...

Re: Lords of the West Battle Report series

I have finally watched it! I have to say, the real MVP were the Phoenix Guard, standing still watching their fellow Elves do all the work  . Pretty bad luck for the Mercenaries (the full Pikemen unit with Paymaster running away was painful to watch) but hopefully next one will be closer! My mi...

Re: [6th Edition]

Asarnil with another Prince on the Dragon was the ultimate trick of the 6th edition and only High Elf players could do it since the former took only 2 Hero choices (instead of a Lord and a Hero choice for all other army). Very few people actually attempted that, and as far as I heard they would lite...

Re: [6th Edition]

Ironguts? Expel this heretic from Ulthuan! Glad that you enjoyed my digging of 6ed stuff! I will fish for some of your reports, you write in an entertaining way xD I am really digging too much into old 6ed stuff when I should be painting! Btw since you attended several tournaments, what is yo...

Re: [6th Edition]

Hey Elendor, check my video battle report in the BR section. I checked it briefly and it looks super fun! I will watch it fully when I find some spare time ^^ Btw I found a tournament report from 6ed ( 2005 WPS GT) where a High Elf combined arms army (featuring 18 Swordmasters =D> ) took 3rd place!...

Lords of the West Battle Report series

Finally, after sometime I have finished my first video Battle report. It's a 2300 pts clash between the High Elf army of Prince Tyrion and the Dogs of War warhost of Prince Lorenzo Lupo on the plain of Luccini. You would read more 'fluff' during the video but to make it short for now, just say Tyrio...

Re: RE.Lee's "Record of Lost Colonies" - End Times Reloaded!

Craft beer is no joke  Looking through some old stuff on my laptop I came across a bunch of battle reports from around 2002, including a campaign we did all those years ago in league with our O&G friend. Nostalgia overload! Post the best of your old time battle reports please :) . I still...

Re: [6th Edition]

I will try to make a battle report whenever I get to play 6ed (the people I found to play against live in a different city a bit far so it needs some planning) :) I have been digging for old 6ed HE infantry topics on warhammer.org.uk and the hate was all over the place xD People agreed that in tour...

Absolutely enjoyed your painting and battle report blog. I just finished all its 29 pages :D . Wish I could play you sometime at any edition. Guys like you would keep the Old World to last for a long time =D>

Re: [6th Edition]

Do photos - ain't nobody got time for video battle reports (ok I do occasionally, but I prefer pictures with some text)! First White Dwarfs I bought had DoW in them, though the only miniature I ever saw live was the Bronzino Galloper Gun - great line that was :) Ok, a compromise, I will make a vide...

Re: [6th Edition]

Are you using the Warhammer Armies Project DoW book? They have some interesting ideas. Anyway, both armies have a real dream team in the character section - Tyrion&Teclis is usually enough cheese, you added some extra cheddar there  The battle looks like a fun (can bloodbaths be fun?) - I ...

Re: [6th Edition]

Welcome back Lohendrinus! Thanks! Good to see you coming back to the hobby, these are fun times for casual gamers. I'm always happy to read some battle reports, even if its solo-play, so no worries there. I'm another fan of the 6th ed PGs (is anyone not?)! Thanks Lee. Nice to see you still here aft...

Re: [6th Edition]

The part where your dog ate your Dragon Princes made me laugh and get sad at the same time, 6th ed Dragon Princes are awesome models! You have no idea, Sir. I almost furiously strangled the little sod at once, but then I remembered he was only 4 month old, so some laxities had to be accorded  ...

Re: [6th Edition]

Hello there. I'm also a long time returnee like the OP, playing exclusively the 6th Edition from 2003-2007. During that blessed time, I had the joy of owning, loving and playing two of the most awesome fluff- and model-wise, but crappiest in terms of wargaming, armies, that is High Elves and Dogs of...
