Re: Back again with another possible GT list (2400)
I think it's pretty good. Alarielle might make the mirror matchup a bit uncomfortable depending on the other list. If she's in the White Lions and the other player gets a BotWD unit into the Lions... Star Dragon might also be a problem. If it goes into the White Lions on full health and challanges,...

Re: Looking for advice 2500 list for tournament
Yeah I would definitely take Life with this list, the healing spells and attribute on the monsters will drive your opponents crazy. And who doesn't love a good dwellers now and again?

Back again with another possible GT list (2400)
Those that saw my last post will know the comp I am playing to. Tried this list the other night and got a massive win against a very good Warriors list and a very strong player. ==Lords== Alarielle - 350 (Either go all Life, or 1 Light and 3 High if I need the extra Banishment strength) Archmage - 2...

Re: 2400 GT List
@John - The cap is for the unit itself, trying to police the unit+additional characters would be almost impossible. @Andros - The 3 reaver units let me stay very quick and mobile, I want the list to be fast and aggressive, archers don't quite fit that mould. Chaff not too much of an issue as my main...

1) He has the banner because I'm an idiot, basically put it on him thinking that my lions would be more than 400 points of they had it, which they wont be. Will change that. 2) Giant blade Dragon prince is like the stock build in our Meta, makes the model dish out 10 S7 Attacks, 4+ ward or not I thi...

2400 GT List
Heading to a 100+ man event in the summer, trying to decide whether to take my High Elves or my Ogres. The comp is considerably softer on Ogres, but isn't too bad for Elves: -Banner of World Dragon/Book of Hoeth/Teclis/ 2 or more Unmounted Frosties are max 1 -Unit with banner of the world dragon can...

Re: MSU Teclis List - ETC
I have played the list a few times and you would be surprised, there is enough there to keep the opponent away, 2 helm darts, shadow warriors, reavers and stubborn white lions with a champ can hold a unit for a few rounds. The sisters with the handmaiden and teclis are just awesome, look for spells ...

Re: 2400 Light Council with Undeath support....
Lets be realistic, your lvl 4 light is going to be throwing banishment, almost exclusively. The book should be on the Undeath dude so he can force through those all important raise spells when you need them. Drop the maiden and put her kit on the BSB, that unit of sisters isn't big enough to truly b...

Re: MSU Teclis List - ETC
The only trouble is like most Teclis builds you are relying on him to do pretty much ALL the heavy lifting, I would keep the light mages in there Banishment is a great threat to make sure you can push through the other spells. The list looks OK, not sure about the Eagle noble, I get why he is there ...

Re: Dragon Princes + Hero Charging Question
Yeah I agree, anything to make the game run more smoothly. It is more depressing that GW seemingly don't know their own rules well enough to write new rules in a way that integrate seamlessly with the existing rules.... It has always irked me that us gamers, spot these things instantly, but the peo...

Re: Dragon Princes + Hero Charging Question
Yes, High Elf units in Horde formation can fight in 4 ranks, and 5 ranks if they armed with Spears and *Didn't* charge that turn. And I will echo what others have been saying that whilst we can fight in an additional rank, we are still limited to making a single attack from ranks beyond the first. N...

But part of the charging unit starts the charge move within their movement value, so technically a stand and shoot reaction is not possible.

Yeah I have played against that MSU Ogre list, think the guys name is Andy right? or similar anyway. I think the trick with the list is it tries to baffle you, make you think that you don't have a proper plan. I think they way to beat it is to be super aggressive and push back against it, if you can...

I don't name my units per se but I have been known to overtly proclaim a noble name for my units/characters upon completion of heroic deeds. The use of terms like 'Squadron', 'Division' and 'Battalion' I would avoid though, they sound too much like modern military terms to 'fit' in the fantasy sett...

Re: New High Elf player needing some advice
Thanks both of you for your replies! Ive read a few points about this subject in various forums and as a newly returned player I have to admit that I dont understand half of the posts, so Id like to ask this As a new player to 8th edition who accidently found High Elves because they just happened to be in the starter set, is the 9th e...

In times of such uncertainty, to refrain from investment is wise. I am not particularly bother about the rumours, we ALWAYS get this cycle before a...

Re: Choosing Battlefield Terrain in Friendlies
Yeah when it comes to friendly games me and my opponent just see what terrain is available and throw it on the table. And agree with John, if prepping for an event, either go with provided terrain maps (like the ETC maps) or get a generic spread of terrain usually seen at tournaments and drop them u...

As an Ogre player as well as High Elves I could post some helpful advice here. Some of it will be obvious to more experience players. Ironblasters The most important unit the ogre player will have most likely. Usually earns most of the VPs towards victory and will be deadly against any birds or drag...

Re: How many wide?
Cav usually comes in 2 forms, decent sized unit that is 5 wide or a 'dart' 2 wide by 3 deep to take advantage of Martial Prowess.
Mixture of both usually works best, and both have vastly differing strategy attached

Re: K'daai Destroyers: how to kill them dead?
The K'Daai Destroyers have long been found out, and why most lists going into a tournament will (and should) have a characters with a 2+ Ward vs Flaming Attacks and a decent magic weapon, preferably mounted. Might be tough to kill the thing, but it almost certainly wont kill you in a hurry (unless d...

Yeah the lists I am moving to are more mobile and harder to pin the points down. Building a Star Dragon + CavBus list that will be much more potent. the tournament is this one,...

Re: 2400 Point GT List
I think 2 lvl. 4's can be really solid. However I think your list needs something to make up for its lack of mobility. Sure you have a lot of shooting, but very mobile armies will quickly take out those elements leaving your big blocks alone. I think I would take metal over shadow and if you don't ...
