Re: Warhammer 9th edition?!
I like the overall changes you've made and admire your effort. However there are some things, which seems a little off. Maybe you could do a writeup on your overall thoughts on the changes. Because some of the changes really sticks out, and it could be nice to hear your reasoning behind it. Some of ...

Re: The Host of Tor Cyroc: Army Blog-QCR Prep
Hi Vespacian, I really like your army. It has great mobility, hits hard and multiple threats. I especially like your inclusion of the phoenix guards. Very very underrated unit IMO. Now I don't think it is a good idea to swap lore to life instead of high magic. Obviously, lifebloom is amazing when yo...

Re: The Cavalry Prince - List Design, Tactics, Battle Report
Very interesting stuff and thanks for the reports! I share your enthusiasm for playing an all comers list that can contribute in every phase of the game. Also I consider HE to be one of the few races, that can actually make a competitive balanced list. It seems that many other races need to field he...

Re: Shooting at cauldron of blood, screaming bell etc in uni
If you have a cannon you can snipe out things that have a different unit type inside another unit, since they will not get their look out sir. That is the general rule for things that shoots with templates (a cannon also shoots with a template). However our bolt throwers do not use a template, becau...

Re: MSU HE - moving on (sort of)
Hey SM, I completely both agree and sympathize with you on the whole subject of where Warhammer is going at the moment. My area fields a lot of decent and competitive players, who mostly play ETC or even heavier comp. I also consider myself to be a competitive player and my favorite system is ETC fo...

Re: Alith Anar - Stand and Shoot?
He can stand and shoot with it, I'd say. Because the army books always overrule the rulebook when it comes to special rules. Imo it is just written very poorly and I think the reason why they wrote "The moonbow is a Bolt thrower" was because they wanted to make it easy, however they should...

Re: Star Dragon List - 2500 Swedish Comp
What kind of line of sight rules, are they using? Because if it is true line of sight, I don't think the star dragon is the way to go, since there is just nowhere to hide it. Other then that I like your list. I think it has enough shooting to draw out most opponents, and the star dragon makes for an...

Bolt throwers single shot and characters in units
Hi there, There is a unit of 9 knights with a character and a bolt thrower has a flank shot: ----C Bolt thrower ----- Now the single shot will hit the second rank and pierce through that. But wat if there is 4 rank and file and a character like this: ----C Bolt thrower. Will I then hit the character...

I think I would also give it to the high elves here. There is nothing that can reliably handle the star dragon nor the frostheart in the OnG army. Btw people just started to put up their lists for the ETC warm up tournament: http://www.powerfist.dk/forum/index.php?topic=87260.0 There is definitely s...

We also got ETC warmup here in Denmark. Very manageable trip I'd say  . I too am looking forward to see what you came up with for ETC. I really feel like I've tested that system a lot, so it will be interesting to see your take on it. However my lists tend not to be as skewed as many other ETC...

While I really like the proposed changes, I don't think this will happen. It looks more like a wish list from experienced players and since GW is not really known for their abilities to actually listen to the people you play their game, I'm a bit pessimistic

Re: ETC COMPETITIVE ARMY
Hi Centesombra and welcome! Your list looks very interesting, especially with the annointed on a flamespyre. I've been playing many lists that looks like this one, however I've never used lore of death. What are your thoughts about that particular lore in this list? I don't think dark elves and wood...

Re: sparky's Emerald Isle blog(ETC my gaming group says!)
What are your thoughts on your choice of core? I think I would make the group of archers bigger (making hand of glory a bigger threat), while dropping one group of reavers. Besides, what are their purpose in this list anyway? I would also consider dropping some more lions and find the points for the...

Re: Baptism of Fire
Thanks for the reports SA - very interesting. I think you underestimate the abilit...

Re: Etc draft 3 - HEs kicked in the groin
I sorta see the magic but shooting really? They have shades, we have nothing to compare. Also warlocks are kings at running at rbts and killing them, same save as helms, multi attack and fast cav. I don't see that many shades, beside the big shade star list, which I don't consider that strong. Othe...

Re: Etc draft 3 - HEs kicked in the groin
It is of course hard to know, when we haven't seen the actual games, but how the DE player manage to get a 20-0 against that dwarf list, is completely beyond me. @Curu Actually I don't find DE to be a hard matchup in ETC for HE. In a world where no really fight that much, their advantage in close co...

Re: Etc draft 3 - HEs kicked in the groin
Sure for characters it is a big deal and also troops with high armour save. I was just more thinking about our troops in general. All our elite infantry doesn't really care if they have killing blow or not. So the things that do care about their killing blow, will simply just avoid them due to their...

Re: Etc draft 3 - HEs kicked in the groin
With s6 killing blow is not that big of a deal I think. When I think about how quick my 25 archers die, I find it remarkable that this unit is in one of the more successful builds. They don't even have any magic resistance in this list. But as you say SA, he got so many other things in that list, th...

Re: Etc draft 3 - HEs kicked in the groin
Thanks for the writeup Ian. It was very interesting to read. I'm surprised by the dark elf list, that came in second. 29 executioners is rarely seen in ETC. They have the same protection as swordmasters, which is next to nothing. But I guess the other elements in his list could draw a lot of fire. C...

Re: Etc draft 3 - HEs kicked in the groin
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Liam will auto loose blood and glory with that list. At any point during the game, you can't have all your fortitude in one unit - you would then be considered broken. Very much looking forward to see the results of the list. I predict the light councils to do ve...

Maybe I'm a bit biased on this one, but in general I don't really like lore of life. Sure flesh to stone is an awesome spell, but what else is there really that your list needs? Phoenix guards does not need more defensive buffs as 4+ ward is already rock solid. However they need something to make th...

Re: Baptism of Fire
Looking at both your armylists I would definitely have put my money on the ogres. All those leadbelchers and 2 cannons are just not good for your army.
So a 10-10 is a really good result in my book at least. Congratulations on what I would consider a great result.
How do you feel about it yourself?

Hmm it actually says that you can decide just before deployment whether the dude with the wayshard give his ambusher ability to a friendly unit or not. That is pretty good, I would say. First of all I never bring anything else from our core that is on foot other then archers. They fight (almost) as ...
