Re: beencounters painting log

Re: beencounters painting log
Not much on the High elf front of late, but rest assured that will be changing very soon! Next update will feature 2 mounted mages and a finished 15 strong silverhelm bus with all the characters for a 20 strong unit. For now, here is my version of Fulgrim, very tricky model to paint, but rewarding. ...

Endtimes Magic - Successfully cast
This is killing our group right now, if you try to cast a spell, lets assume soul quench, meet the casting value but your opponent then dispels the attempt can you try to re-cast soul quench? I would assume this would be regarded as a failure to cast and is much the same as our lore attribute not tr...

Re: EOT Elven Army - Strategies & Combos
Yeah, Im considering 4 lvl1 light mage/sorceress in a cavbus. The problem im having with light council is that I cant find a good place to put them other than with a cavbus(cany cast once in combat) or with woodelf skirmishers.

R.E Lee- No new model for Tyrion or Malekith, Tyrion is still on Malhindir and Malekith still on his dragon. I kind of wish there was a new mini, but I understand that Tyrion is the embodiment of Khaine and Malekith of Asuryan.

Forgeworld Avatar commission. Was quite a tough model to paint, so much texture on there. Glad get it out the way and continue with my own army! https://scontent-b-ams.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfp1/v/t1.0-9/10629661_363468303834553_889260705751175412_n.jpg?oh=24e2ac34c232ce92dcb42d4734e3ba0a&oe=5513...

Re: beencounters painting log
I was looking hard at silverhelm alternatives, but I looked closely at the kit and at some nice examples by others on here and thought that the studio paint scheme was selling them well short, they are actually really nice models, only having two poses for the steeds is a drawback but overall they w...

Re: beencounters painting log
thanks ferny, I thought the model was real cool but was held back by the rubbish selection of elven legs, hence the mounted pose. I still regret not doing my silver helms with Phoenix guard heads, now THAT looks awesome! Thinking of options for my arcehrs, does anyone know if, historically, archers ...

Re: beencounters painting log
you just use like 1 drop, its enough to change the flow of the paint. I thin it with water as normal then a wee bit of flow aid, usually just a brush load or two.

Thanks guys! Nexs - a 00 brush and some flow aid medium with very little paint on the brush should see you good.
I'll also let you in on a secret, the back of the banner isn't done yet, hence no pics from that angle!

Re: beencounters painting log
The bases are just the usual sand then worked in some static grass and tufts I found on ebay, they are a bit of a PITA to do but they lift the army as a whole and keep it cohesive. Il try to get a shot of everything together once the BSB is done. The 50/50 work I mentioned sort of means that I block...
