Re: Vaguely Nagarythian/Lileath Themed 2000pts List
Thanks for the feedback :) Putting the archmage in a huge unit, that shouldn't be afraid of combat, seems counter-intuitive. The archmage shouldn't be getting in combat, 3+ ward save or no, because it risks my general and what would be my entire magic phase if I (as you suggest) didn't take the leve...

Re: Vaguely Nagarythian/Lileath Themed 2000pts List
Thanks for the feedback. I'll make some tweaks and see what I can do. :) I considered Razor Banner for the Swordmasters but I wasn't sure if they needed it, but now that you mention cold ones, I guess it could help a lot with heavy cav and similar things. Especially since it's probably going to fall...

Vaguely Nagarythian/Lileath Themed 2000pts List
Long time, no see! :) Haven't played in years unfortunately, so I've pretty much forgotten how to play, if I ever really knew in the first place. Anyway, I've gotten my hands on the new book and figured I'd try and get some opinions on what I've managed to come up with so far, in case I actually hav...

Should probably be the pic I noticed rather than the BLIND GUARDIAN IN YOUR SIG! :D =D> Now, looking down again... I like the icy-looking armour plating, but I think that a dark blue tinge on the silver might help it fit together better. Not too keen on the orangey-red; I'd prefer a more purplish sh...

You probably won't really see the join, but if you want perfection then sculpt a couple of straps with green stuff. (you'll need the shield-bearing arm separate from the body to do this...) Personally, I just put a little bit of plastic glue on the hand and on the end of the gauntlet. Those are the ...

Personally, I think not even the Phoenix King himself should have Core White Lions
Remember in 6th, when they were not only Rare, but 0-1 as well?

That would be one way of looking at it. Another would be that the White Lions we get to use are standard and the Phoenix King's bodyguard are even more elite.

Re: How would you update High Magic for 8th?
Should be in the ideas forum, I think.
Anyway, that's a cool attribute idea. Removing +1 to Dispel from our mages with no replacement means we're paying extra points for nothing though, if we want to choose a different lore.

Re: Lathaon's attempt: 8th High Elves redone
Drain Magic by the way seems cool, but perhaps a bit too powerful. If it's cast, the other guy basically has no chance of IF-ing. It's an auto-shutdown of a magic phase. Here's an idea. Instead of this one, a variant of the original one: subract 3 from subsequent casting rolls until the start of th...

I think I may have forgotten to lower the points cost of Nobles and Princes though (since they no longer get honours for free)...
What did you think of the changes to High Magic, by the way?

Re: Lathaon's attempt: 8th High Elves redone
About that Banner of Sorcery: for now, I have just left it as it was. The reason being, although your idea sounded cool at first, I thought about it some more and decided it shouldn't be that way. Empire and Dwarves are capable of getting ridiculous amounts of dispel dice, but that doesn't mean we s...

Re: Here Be Dragons (Updated: Sept. 24)
Gah. I hate the way you overwrite everything with those edits. :P I think enemy models should have a chance at attacking the dragon as it swoops down. Maybe when you make that move, you could move it into base contact like in a charge, then models from the supporting rank get to attack (spears getti...

I'm thinking of making my spare one a Great Eagle too, I was going to sculpt the back end of the model into tail feathers too.... I'm doing that with mine. It's not far off done. Repositioned the legs as well so they don't look like arms. Unfortunately, back when I got my IoB, there weren't any Ska...

The KB beak attack seems cool, although I'm not sure where it's coming from. The beak should be able to cut through armour, something like this . The talons should of course be capable of tearing people to pieces, but they already are aren't they? :) Would be kinda cool to have KB for flying things ...

Re: Here Be Dragons
Wasn't pretty much everything capable of wounding them anyway? With the positive modifiers, it's basically the same as giving them a 2+ save and using normal modifiers. This makes the rule sort of pointless. If you removed the positive modifiers and/or increased armour saves by one point (Sun Dragon...

Let's try this: Armour Save Modifiers are not counted from Strength 4 against Dragons, but from a Strength equal to their Toughness (which is 6). Positive armour modifiers are given for attacks with a Strength below the Toughness. To be honest, I have wondered before whether it would be better if i...

LEGACY OF AENARION (Addition) ASUR CAVALRY Mobility has always been a valuable instrument in battle and Aenarion honed the Elven cavalry of his time to attack swiftly and move precisely. This tradition lives on in the Wind Riders, Reaver Knights, and Silver Helms. The haughty Dragon Princes claim n...
