Well, it´s no strange thing you are so disappointed, Ielthan : http://www.the-ninth-age.com/index.php?thread/4449-some-statistics/&postID=93226#post93226 Yep, we are the WEAKEST army nowadays (little has changed since the statistics, that are quite recent). Something no tournaments needs to demo...

Re: 9th Age discussion and suggestions topic
First of all, thanks for your work, Giladis. I´m sure you will represent ULTHUAN in the best way possible =D> My suggestions are...few, they have done a great job, by now: - Princes should be able to mount lion and flying chariots too. They are more pricey, so why not? - Griffon should cost the ame ...

Re: Did tournament players kill Warhammer?
Personally I find the whole idea of tournament/competitive gamers misses the mark, at least in this context. Now, don't get me wrong there are players on any tournament circuit that take things super-serious and are there to win above all else, but that's true of almost any organised competition (n...

Re: Warhammer 9th edition?!
IMHO, an elegant solution for the terrorgheist should be "forcing" him to pay the upgrades, that is: make it 250 points (or even 5-10 more) but with the 3d6 impacts when he dies and the poisoned attacks. Thus, it would cost a more appropiated price for what he does, and at the same time th...

Re: K'daai Destroyers: how to kill them dead?
So a mounted noble with dragon armor and the star lance and maybe the other trickster's shard, forcing him to reroll his 4+ while i have to reroll the 2+ from dragon armor shouldn't hurt me too much. A character doesn´t have to re-roll his own wards because the shard, since you are not in contact b...

Re: 2400 ETC - Hoedeath
The only concern I'd have with this list is the separation you're going to see between the WL unit and the rest of the list, as it's quite fast. As tough as a block of WL are with BotWD and a killy lord, you don't want to see them get isolated mid to late game and chewed apart while the rest of you...

2400 ETC - Hoedeath
Hi all! Our gaming group are going to start an ETC league, in order to be "trained" for future tournaments. This is the list i will use: - Prince, HA, giant sword, shield of the merwyrm, golden crown, other trickster´s shard: 246 - Archmage, lvl 4 death, talisman of preservation, book of h...

Re: Star Dragon vs Gunline
I disagree. For magic, we have our own dispel resources, and at least for a single turn we should be able to shut down almost all enemy phase with the d-scroll. For warmachines, yes, it is mathematically possible, but let´s be honest, is LARGELY improbable. Is like saying that 4 bolt throwers can ki...

Give them many objetives: stardragon + 2 frosthearts. There is no gunline that can kill all of them (sometimes even more than one) in a single turn.

Re: War Machine Hunting
Organ gun is actually a "coin in the air" for us: - if the dwarf player has runed it, good, because our (probably) best unit will have the BoTWD, and thus we will save all wounds with 2++ - otherwise, if he hasn´t runed it, and takes only the master engineer to improve the shooting (i´ve s...

Re: Outfitting a Prince on Foot - Need advice
This one is actually very popular, at least in the ETC meta:
- Giant Blade
- Shield of Merwyrm
- Other Trickster´s Shard
In a BoTWD White Lions Unit (so no worrying about death snipes), and with a High Magic Archmage to boost the Merwyrm parry to 3++.

Excelent analysis, Malossar. I am a fan of the ETC StarDragon list, and i´ve added for the last 3 months a unit of 5 SW with champion, with great results. They make all the things you say, plus don´t forget they, as skirmishers, are stubborn in forests. That´s why i take the champion: conga line´em ...

Re: How to handle Gorbeast chariot spam?
If he spam, you spam: bring on 4/5 mages with metal lore, put them arcane objects that give/help with power dice (power stone, power scroll, channeling rod), to ensure you are plenty of dice; and SEEaring (¡pun!) him go to hell.
Add 4xRbt, sisters, and the most chaff you can bring, and it´s made.

All the miscasts are considered indeed Magical Attacks, is in the FAQ´s. So you HAVE the 2+ ward against miscasts.

Re: When opponent Whine/rage
I am with stormie on this: there´s no kind of "karma" that regulates the luck over time. A player can have incredible bad/good dice in a game, and if he repeats the same match against the same rival, the results can be EXACTLY the same. There are no "balance spirits" that says: &...

Nagashias , this last saturday i played an Universal Battle match against a friend of mine and his brets. Re: When opponent Whine/rage
I am not going to be the one that says that this kind of attitude is justifiable; BUT negate that dice can have HUGE impact in the result of the battle is simply false. I have seen DOZENS of times games in wich a player was absolutely dominating and outplaying his opponent, and a massive amount of b...

Re: Surviving a Skaven Assassin
i think your chance for survival is quite good, as the skaven assassins are not as hard as the DE ones. In fact it´s totally the opposite: the skaven assassin is way harder (R4 and 4++ ward FOR FREE) than the druchii. With the armour piercing/1d3 wounds blade (a skaven magical weapon) and the potio...

I would go for dragon armour instead of lion cloak, the 1+ against shooting is good, but the 2++ against flaming is superior, in my opinion. It protects you from: khorne can...

Both are very good, but as always, it depends on your play style and the rest of your army. But one of the best advices i can tell you is that if you are going to play the Banner of the World Dragon (and you probably will), your star dragon will be stubborn within 12" of the banner. Just sayin´...

Re: Top 5 hits and misses of the new High Elf armybook
Misses: 1-Only the spearmen of our core can have magic banner. It´s ridiculous, considering how a very specifical and fluffy rule of our army has ever been First Among Equals. And insulting, looking at the druchii book... 2-All the chariots are still too weak/overcosted. The new flying chariot could...

Re: Do We Need Dispel Scrolls With A Book AM?
Both, if possible. Actually, i use the prince on stardragon, so there´s no room for the book; but if i play a game with archmage, i would use both of them, always.
My reasoning is: "why not shut down almost all enemy´s magic -except IF- when i CAN do it?"
