Re: Selling (mostly) old Highelves

Hi, I would be interested in Korhil + White Lions and Eltharion - love these old minis! I'm based in France so I guess you would be ok to ship there? Please feel free to IM me.

Re: 8th edition High Elves in action

Glad you enjoyed the reports and thanks for taking the time to comment. I was hoping to write up more detailed reports with maps etc, in the style of Swordmaster's, for example. I didn't take notes though and my memory just isn't good enough to recall all the details of each turn! Oh well, hopefully...

Here is a game-by-game summary of the BunkerBrawl tournament I went to recently - Game 1: Dawn Attack Opponent: Lizardmen Result: 20-0 victory High Elves' man of the match: Frosty http://s21.postimg.org/d5ux6vj7a/DSC_0553.jpg I was looking forward to playing Lizardmen whom I'd never fought in 8th ed...

Re: Segway to Hell

Two Abombs is pretty nasty! I'm not sure how I'd deal with that if I came up against it. That's a shame about forgetting the flaming attacks. It's frustrating when that happens - I often forget important stuff like the re-roll of ward saves due to The Other Trickster's Shard #-o , if it's any consol...

Re: 8th edition High Elves in action

There are some good tips on that thread, thanks. If my Lizardman opponent uses High magic I'll have to watch out for Arcane Unforging on my BSB or Prince. I think my RBTs will be particularly useful in this match up to soften them up a bit before I commit to combat. Hopefully, I can get the Frosty i...

Re: 8th edition High Elves in action

Thanks SpellArcher. Yeah, I think I'll avoid 6-dicing anything unless I desperately need to get a spell off. Even with a 3++, a lot of PG could die! They have announced the armies that will be competing in the tournament: Dark Elves = 5 Warriors of Chaos = 5 High Elves = 4 Orcs & Goblins = 3 Ogr...

8th edition High Elves in action

Hi guys, I've decided to start up this blog to document battles I'll be playing in an upcoming 8th edition tournament and hopefully others in the future (if people keep playing 8th). The tournament I'm going to is called BunkerBrawl and will have 36 players for 6 games of 2400-pt 8th edition. Scenar...

Re: 9th Age GT Sells Out

It's good to see that people are supporting this. I'm not sure if it's for me, yet at least, because I'm still enjoying 8th edition! (I started playing it with a group of friends in 2013, so was quite late to the party!). I'm going to only my second 8th edition tournament in the UK (in Essex) in two...

Hi Furion

My friend is a professional fantasy illustrator (has illustrated a number of books e.g Conan) and a big warhammer fan (albeit a dwarf player  ). He told me might be interested. Here is his website:

Re: ETC 2015 - Prague, Czech Republic, Team SG [Warm Up 2]

Enjoying these reports! Look forward to more. Out of curiosity, why do you prefer silver helm darts to reavers in your list? I ask as I am planning to use quite a similar list (PG and Sh bus), without Tyrion, in an upcoming tournament, but was planning on using reavers as my redirectors/warmachine h...

Re: The Ninth Age

That's a good idea Cold Phoenix. IMHO just a few tweaks are needed as I thought overall our 8th edition book was decent. I think Botwd could be made a 3++ for the same points cost as it does seem too powerful. The Frosty could probably do with a points increase while the Flamespyre should get a slig...

I am a bit sad about all this as my small group of gaming friends and I had only just started to get into the UK WFB tourney scene! I really wanted to like this game, but the more I read and see about it the less likely I think I'll be able to get into it. My friends feel the same way, so it looks like our group will continue playing 8th edition Fantasy - unless of course GW do release a mass battle system rather than skirmish g...

Re: 2000 pts list for a small tournament

If you are using High magic you should be able to get the Archmage's ward up from 5++ to 3++ if you can get 2 spells through a turn. If you prioritise casting the lower value spells, that should be possible especially with Book of Hoeth! With a 3++ he is not all that easy to kill.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I made most of the changes, apart from the Ring of Fury as I didn't have enough points left to squeeze it in. I am going to give this list a try this weekend against my brother's Warriors of Chaos. Without Botwd the SHs are obviously quite a bit more vulnerable to ma...

2400 Anointed list - ETC comp

Hi all, I'm looking to try out the below list, following the latest ETC comp pack. To be able to take the SH bus and two frosties (I'm assuming a frosty as ridden monster still counts as 1 choice?) I dropped botwd from the bus. As a result, I've gone for a High Archmage on foot who will go in with t...
