Re: What are our weak points?
I like the reasoning behind your points (that goes for all of posters above). I should focus more on the specific role of a unit in my army and the overal synergy. I have horrible luck with warmachines, but giving up on them means that the enemy has no real incentive to come closer and fight with th...

Re: What are our weak points?
Good suggestions, thanks.
The black orc warboss is there to quell animosity.
Wolf riders would have been better and I missed the warmachines.

Re: What are our weak points?
Good points. This was the last army I used against HE. I got outmaneuvered like a snotling general but what do you guys think about the build of the army? Lords Savage Orc Great Shaman (Lucky shrunken head, Obsidian Trinket, Fencers blades) --> counts as lvl 2, with SO unit (duh) Black Orc Warboss (...

Re: What are our weak points?
I never said I wasn't odd :D His list had lots of small units and a BOTW Phoenix Guard mage bunker. Frostheart Phoenix, Dragon princes, 2 x 5 reavers with spears. I took out 2 guys before I blew myself up I think. The brass orb scattered, the doomrocket didn't do much damage. The gutter runners shou...

Re: What are our weak points?
If you take all core archers, you have 60 archers at 2.K Which means 60 shots at BS4 in the first round, 60 in the second round and then a stand and shoot. That is 180 shots which will wound on a 6. That hurts #-o Here's the list I used with my Skaven army, tailor made to defeat HE...I was crushed J...

What are our weak points?
Hello, My and my mate rotate armies and the High Elves are nearly unbeatable. We house ruled a max 10% archers but even then we just cannot beat them. They are fast, reliable, ASF with re-roll, BOTW,... Only Ogres have beaten them in close combat and that because my crazy opponent took absolutely no...

Re: 2.5K with Prince versus Skaven
The Loremaster blew himself up twice and was sniped by a cannon. That man needs a reliable ward save. The Prince didn't need a ward save, with WS7 and always strike first and a 2+ save, nobody wanted to attack him. The archer units to protect the warmachines held up the gutter runners but didn't kil...

Re: 2.5K with Prince versus Skaven
In our meta of two players, the HE are tier-1 and alone there. They crush Skaven, Empire and OnG every time. They haven't played against Beastmen or Bretonnia yet but that should not be a problem. If we ever played other people we might find out why they are not over the top for everyone else :D Goi...

Re: 2.5K with Prince versus Skaven
We have about eight armies that rotate between the two of us. We only play each other. High Elves win almost every match. We just cannot win against the pointy eared half gods. Ogres are the only ones that have beaten them and that's because he took a HE close combat army against them...bad plan. So...

No, small misunderstanding. I haven't won a game in over a year against this guy with my other armies. No more mister nice Orc, time to bring out the Elves

Sweet Tyrion, this site is alive! My last army list at the OnG forum got zero replies. Thanks for all the feedback . So two flanks would be fun. The star lance was there for charging a doomwheel actually. I was wondering about the loremaster and spearmen, lots of wonderful buffs. Wil the PG work on ...

2.5K with Prince versus Skaven
Hello, I'm up against Skaven in the near future. It's 2500 points and no level 3 or 4 allowed. Also no double Phoenixes or Abominations. What do you guys think about this ? LORDS Loremaster of Hoeth (Book of Hoeth, Shield of merwyrm, Sword of might) --> Joins Phoenix Guard Prince (Shield, Heavy Armo...

Re: thunderstomp of griffon in challenge
A thunderstomp is against the unit and the griffon itself cannot be challenged, doesn't that mean that they are separate?

thunderstomp of griffon in challenge
Hey,
The faq states that stomps in challenges can only be directed at the challenged enemy.
If my noble on a griffon is challenged by a character in a unit, can I still thunderstomp the unit? The griffon itself is not in the challenge.

Re: 2500 against OnG
I won rather convincingly. We usually play till 03.00 and now it was over by 22.30 I shot his giant and 2 mangler squigs. My Reavers delayed his Grimgor and Black Orcs unit. I charged his Savage Orcs Big Uns with an eagle in the front and a Frosty in the flank, put the Iceshard spell on them...they ...

Re: 2500 against OnG
Played around a bit. I like the Loremaster for debuffs and sniping. An archer bunker might be enough. Foot is indeed less powerful againts elves, might need some MR I need some extra oomph apart from my Phoenix guard, why not try some Dragon Princes? They never made it on the table and look so cute ...

Re: 2500 against OnG
A character with MR gives it to the unit (just reread the rule :) ). Look out Sir protects against Foot. A Prince can have loads of extra stuff. And I have smaller units that don't run away that easily. 1 mage does mean that I don't have a dispell scroll but againts OnG that isn't that big of a pro...

Re: 2500 against OnG
Hmm, haven't used a prince yet. Will look into that.
You would put the 19 archers together? Ah have to be minimum 10.
I'm afraid of foot of gork but archers with botw will do nicely. Or just accept the s4 hit...
Interesting ideas, back to the drawing board

2500 against OnG
Hey everyone, I'll be playing against OnG next month. He'll typically bring - 30 Savage Orc Big Ones - 2 mangler squigs - 1 savage orc shaman with shrunken head - Wolf riders /* EDIT: NEW LIST: */ Lords Loremaster of Hoeth (BOH, Sword of Anti-heroes, Shield of Merw) Archmage (Level 4, Dispel scroll,...

A biting halberd
Hey everyone, I was fighting someone yesterday who had a biting halberd. He never used it but mentioned it after the game. He claims that the biting blade can be added to a normal halberd as an upgrade. It does say in the rulebook that a biting blade does not have to be a blade, it can also be hamme...
