Re: Wood Elves and Beastmen!!!

And when it comes to new armies the wood elf army was the only one I did not sell anything from. While my Empire army had to be re-built from bits and gifted stuff and all I had left from the high elves were spears, archers, spruces for mages, chariot, WL:s and griffon. And a single metal mini (Sel...

Re: Cathay Confirmed!!!

I am not a fan, the models are just "too much" for gaming pieces (much of what GW does has been that for a while now). Armies made out of GW miniatures have been increasingly looking like display pieces you could use to play (but carefully) rather than something intended for recurring use.

Re: Reworking the High Elf Book Updated 22/03/25

Regarding the Shadow Stalker, I disagree with the direction of the change from a conceptual point of view. When making adjustments such as these one should ask 'What is the role of the element that I wish to adjust both from a gameplay and background perspective?' followed by 'How well does the curr...

Re: Korhil can't join white lions?

My honest opinion is both books were written by people who just have never been high elf (or any elf) players, and have little love for them. Or they have a very different idea of how HE should look and play on the table from most people in the community and really love the HE the way they see them...

Re: Woodsmen Lion Cloak Concept

I like the first one, with the White Lion trim on the SW cloak, better I think. It's a bit more subtle and it should look great on a whole unit of them. As a side note. With the proliferation of Lion Cloaks in the AJ, I fear those White Lions are becoming an endagered species. At their height, ther...

Mode of movement needs to be declared. Characters in a unit have to use the same mode regardless how far their individual model would move.

Re: Arcane Journal Leaks

Interesting, so essentially you have a lot more, but smaller scale models for T9A? Sort of like warmaster? Yeah. I put them on individual bases in case I want to play the "mini" version of the game ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/1776977859208547 ). https://www.ulthuan.net/forum/viewtop...

Re: Arcane Journal Leaks

After T9A being my main game for almost a decade usually played at the WH equivalent of 2500 and 2250 pts (though when points deflation is taken into account it was closer to 3500 and 3300) I found ToW 2000 points refreshing especially army sizes due to difficulties to transport everything for a sin...

Re: Arcane Journal Leaks

I have been having quite a hard time fitting all the options made available by the AJ while at the same time retaining a visual feel of a WD army intended to both give me a decent enoigh time and to draw in any potential onlookers. I am trying to fit into the list an Archmage on foot, Stormweaver on...

Re: Arcane Journal Leaks

... Oh no doubt about it that if paired with points the Banner is daft. From a game impact analysis point of view I am not sure if its worth is noticable on the whole numbers scale we are operating. While on a relative scale regardless of price it pales in comparison to other banner designs. But if...

Re: Arcane Journal Leaks

Frustration comes in part because for many/most designers points assigned are more like sugestions rather than strictly defined determinants. I had the fortune to interact with a lot of people involved with designing various games over the years and only people involved with T9A were serious about p...

Re: Arcane Journal Leaks

As long as half your opponents Army consists of big, strong characters, then Infantry that takes the whole game to kill them is useless. In the end, Army composition is people take 50% characters and 25% core. That leaves just 25% for everything else. That is the issue. Resulting in a game that vis...

Re: Ulthuan Rallies for War

Do you accept sponsorships? I'm still learning, so if you have an idea for what you want sculpted I might be amenable to a suggestion for my next attempt. I've still got to learn how to pre-support them for 3D printing. I would just try to limit it to something infantry sized, so no cavalry or mons...

Welcome to Ulthuan! May your stay be long, elegant and prosperous. What you have is a decent starting collection that can be developed into many directions. Whether you want to lean more into monster support, cavalry or infantry. What I can say with confidence is that regardless of the current rules...

I hope my provider managed to get the Chrace Chieftain and the Handmaiden in spite of not being on the initial order form because they are already Sold Out. don't really want to convert the woodsmen though as they will doubtless end up unusable on a shelf like my horde of kitbashed aeskhaine from the end times... Re: Arcane Journal Leaks

Definitely dropped the ball on AoI compositions/special rules though imo, especially on the sea guard list. Mostly gives the wrong rules to the wrong units as far as I'm concerned. Curious that Storm Weavers are now linked with Unicorns. On the other hand they looks as a cheapish way to add L3 wizards as support for an Archmage in a Grand Army.
