Well if you are not concerned about having a " lame" army i suggest running phoenix guards with a shadow archmage . I always had problems killing mosters ( i always run loremaster ) but this time used 20 phoenix guards ( with razor banner , which was irrelevant by the way ) and an archmage...

I drilled both the hole and the sfere and i used a clip as a pin , you can do it with the gw drill and you don't have to open another huge hole ( wich i'm always afraid of ) it is ( imho ) easier and safer
