Re: Raiders of Cothique 2000 list vs VC
I lost the game, partially due to bad deployment on my part. The Archmage did okay but his lv4 necro had an item that boosted his dispell abilities to some degree.I did use Lore familiar instead of Silvery wand and Opal amulet. However, I switched out Banner of Arcane protection for Standard of Batt...

Re: Drilled?
So, that last piece is interesting. It really could come in handy. Also, having drill on Phoenix Guard is a real boost, so you can adapt their formation depending on what you are fighting. Do you want more attacks or do you wish to make sure you got max static combat resolution. So you are being for...

Re: First battle fought and some reflections
I went for Pure of Heart for my BSB. Wailing banshees and other undead shenanigans made me feel it was a good choice.
She got a shield, Armour of Caledor and Biting blade.

Re: First battle fought and some reflections
Indeed! There was times I wished I had brought the Banner of Arcane protection but the Battle banner was a real boost. But I think I will bring Banner of Arcane protection next time because my friend will probably give my Wardens target priority for his aggressive spells. However, after that he will...

First battle fought and some reflections
So I finally got around to fight my first battle. High elves vs Vampire counts. It was the first time I brought a lv4 archmage like... ever. And it was probably good since my opponent brought a lv4 necromancer.- I will not go into all details but yeah, I lost. However, while for long it looked like ...

Re: Reavers of Cothique 2000 vs VC
I downloaded the VC army list and am considering my options. I know my friend likes armies with lots of core troops in decent regiments. That is just how he feel the game should be. He also likes his vampires, but he sometimes fields a high level necromancers instead. But a vampire can take a vampir...

How to make a fighty Archmage?
So with the rise of Must have lv4 archmage, I feel I need to find a way to make a fighty archmage that can march with my Phoenix Guard or Spears and get toe to toe with the enemy. Any good builds for this? Or is it better to have the archmage alone and moving about behind the lines? There are so man...

Re: Reavers of Cothique 2000 vs VC
Ah, dang! Stupid rule! Well, that makes the Handmaiden less interesting for the moment. I have room to take the Sisters as Rare anyway so not so bad in the end. I did consider Banner of Arcane protection since I will probably face quite some magic. I would like to have fighty general so maybe just a...

Reavers of Cothique 2000 vs VC
So, my first attempt at putting together a list for TOW I will face Vampire counts in my first game so keep that in mind. I am really not a magic centered person. The times I have fielded an archmage can be counted on one hand. This makes me infact a bit put-off in regards to TOW. The reason is that...

Host of Tir Eloc vs VC - Getting my Cothique force into TOW
So, geting Forces of Fantasy as a 50 years birthday present has enabled me to start creating a 2000 point list to test the game. My collection is pretty thematic with lots öf spearelves which seem to be considered as a bad choice on the site. Also, fighty princes on foot seem to be out aswell. My ki...

Back into the fray - But what do I do now?
Hello everyone! A week ago I happened to find the rulebook in a store! I swiftly grabed it and made for the counter with due haste, weary of anyone who might try to ambush me. I bought it and drew a sigh of relief. Howevee, there was a problem. No store in town had the Forces of Fantasy book. I real...

Re: Getting my Asrai ready to take on the stunties in WAP
The army is taking form. I will have 27 Eternal guards with my highborn. Since the dryads are only str3 and T3, and since my army is winter themed, they will stay at home. My treeman and three treekins and a unit of Riders of Kurnous will be the sole forest spirits. Wardancers with their access to k...

Re: Loren is rising - getting my asrais back into shape.
Started to convert 8 more minis to the Eternal guard. Formerly meant to be warriors from Cothique I felt I really needed them batter as Eternal guard. This brings the strength to 27 + my general or BSB.

Re: Getting my Asrai ready to take on the stunties in WAP
I was going through my list for an eventual encounter with the dwarves when I realized something I had missed earlier. Dryads, while having hatred, ability to choose aspects and two attacks, only have strength 3 and thoughness 3. I was so into older rules that I had missed this. This suddenly made t...

Re: Loren is rising - getting my asrais back into shape.
Having looked through my wood elves I realize they really need a facelift.I need hightling, some wash etc. Lots of work. Well, I will do some in order to make them presentable alongside the Treeman and Raimies guards.
Still, nothing that cannot be done.

Getting my Asrai ready to take on the stunties in WAP
I posted some pics of the treeman I was working on to my gaming buddy. He replied that my asrais needed to taste some dwarven axe. I replied that it was the dwarves who needed to get their beards trimmad. So it seem I have to get my asrais into shape. I will post a list I am working on. My new treem...

Loren is rising - getting my asrais back into shape.
I have started to get back into my wood elves again, starting when I repurposed the high elf spears I had used as Eternal guards back to being high elf spears. I started with an old project. I once bought a metal wood elf highborn with great weapon second hand. The mini was missing the sword but I f...
