Re: Getting my Asrai ready to take on the stunties in WAP

The army is taking form. I will have 27 Eternal guards with my highborn. Since the dryads are only str3 and T3, and since my army is winter themed, they will stay at home. My treeman and three treekins and a unit of Riders of Kurnous will be the sole forest spirits. Wardancers with their access to k...

Re: Loren is rising - getting my asrais back into shape.

Started to convert 8 more minis to the Eternal guard. Formerly meant to be warriors from Cothique I felt I really needed them batter as Eternal guard. This brings the strength to 27 + my general or BSB.

Re: Getting my Asrai ready to take on the stunties in WAP

I was going through my list for an eventual encounter with the dwarves when I realized something I had missed earlier. Dryads, while having hatred, ability to choose aspects and two attacks, only have strength 3 and thoughness 3. I was so into older rules that I had missed this. This suddenly made t...

Re: Loren is rising - getting my asrais back into shape.

Having looked through my wood elves I realize they really need a facelift.I need hightling, some wash etc. Lots of work. Well, I will do some in order to make them presentable alongside the Treeman and Raimies guards.

Still, nothing that cannot be done.

Getting my Asrai ready to take on the stunties in WAP

I posted some pics of the treeman I was working on to my gaming buddy. He replied that my asrais needed to taste some dwarven axe. I replied that it was the dwarves who needed to get their beards trimmad. So it seem I have to get my asrais into shape. I will post a list I am working on. My new treem...

Loren is rising - getting my asrais back into shape.

I have started to get back into my wood elves again, starting when I repurposed the high elf spears I had used as Eternal guards back to being high elf spears. I started with an old project. I once bought a metal wood elf highborn with great weapon second hand. The mini was missing the sword but I f...

Work is progressing with the loremaster and there is also a heroine with a bow. She will wield the reaver bow and probably lead my Sisters of Avelorn.

Re: Children of Mathlann - creating a Cothique army

I have not decided on a loadout yet. Using WAP I lean towards a magical staff, for example the Starwood staff, Guardian Phoenix and Crown of Command. Then heavy armour and great weapon. He will probably stand with my Spear regiment so having them Stubborn is useful. My BSB would camp with my Phoenix...

Re: Children of Mathlann - creating a Cothique army

Yesterday I tried to kitbash a new Loremaster from a metal swordmaster standard bearer. The standard pole had broke so I decided to try and make something out of him. I went with trying to make his broken banner pole somekind of magical item.

Wood elves - were to turn?

I have started to resurrect my Wood elf army after getting my Cothique army to a decent spot.
But are there any wood elf forums left?

Otherwise I guess I will have to establish somekind of embassy here on Ulthuan.

Re: Warhammer Armies Project: a search for experience.

Yeah, if we had Always Strike First in WAP I think it would have been somewhat better. In the future I think I will try to avoid his Generals unit as much as possible. The only ones who could tie it down long enough are probably Phoenix guards with the Banner of Defiance making them stubborn.

Re: Children of Cothique 3000 point list for WAP

I lost in the end. It was a hard battle but there were two key moments. First, his Plaguebearer lucked out managing to kill my general who were leading the Phoenix Guard. 4 attacks, 3 hits, 3 wounds, 3 failed armour saves followed by 3 failed 4+ ward saves! It looked like it went my way until turn 3...

Re: Warhammer Armies Project: a search for experience.

Another battle against Daemons of Nurgle today. A 3000 point game. Up until turn 3 I had the upper hand and the winds of chaos did not favour my friends daemons and his had some really bad luck with his rolls. But then it turned as he managed to kill my general and the dice gods were totally against...

3000 point WAP battle on the horizon - Nurgle wants vengeance

Okay! I have a game on saturday against my friend. However, he is fielding his Nurgle army again and this times 3000 points. I was hoping to get to fight his VC that I wanted a second go at but no, it will be against Nurgle since he wants vengeance for their defeat last time. Thing is I will not get...

Re: Warhammer the old world

Well, having expirience with 25mm bases as standard from Oathmark I say it is a good move. It makes ranking up so much easier!
And if you do not want to re-base movement trays are the go to solution in the Oathmark community.

Re: Ulthuan Rallies for War

I will use movement trays. This is how people deal with it playing Oathmark and using old models. Oathmark have 25mm for infantry, 50×25mm for cavalry, 50mm for stuff like ogres and 100×50 for the really big stuff. It makes everything so much easier. And if you have smaller bases you make movement t...
