Re: What are you reading?

I've got a couple books on the go, Stalingrad by Antony Beevor (I tell you what I feel for any poor sod who was caught up in that battle!) and Sword of Truth by Terry Goodkind which I'm quite enjoying. First book of his i've read. Huge reader myself and love historical fiction and fantasy as my main...

Re: Secret Santa 2016

I enjoyed painting something different. I'm not mad about the 7th edition vamp models but I really like the 'ghostliness' achieved here.[/quote] Someone knows their models! I just bought that direct from GW so didnt realise it was that "old". If i'd had more time i'd have thoroughly enjoy...

No updates from anyone?

If my recipient hasnt posted by the weekend to at least confirm receipt of said present I'll put my pics up. They arent a particularly active person on these forums what I can see anyway but would have been nice if it was received if he'd at least confirmed it arrived ok!

Re: Is it any good

I cannot possibly comment as I've never played it (refuse to!), but define "Any good" and maybe quantify more what you're looking for in a game? To me from what I read when it was first released doing away with points lists was a fundamental I would never get on board with and I hate they ...

Mine is about 60-70% done and im sort of happy with it so far. I think i'm on track for getting it posted this month. Re: Secret Santa 2016

My secret santa will become a secret new years gift. Sorry for the delay! So will mine, realistically I will get mine finished sometime in January and in the post. Am making steady progress, just finding time to pick up the brush. (On that note I'm off to grab a cheeky 30 mins now!) Apologies to my...

Re: Other fantasy/hsitoric wargaming

They play a lot of Frostgrave at my local club but so far i've opted not to get involved (lack of time, too much I want to play/paint already!) but its a very popular game there at least. I'm a huge fan of historical war gaming to be honest, it was WFB that got me into the whole "scene" bu...

If you still need the old Korhil model (the metal one with his hair hanging out behind him) I'm pretty sure i've got one spare. Re: P&M Showcase: Phoenixes

Very good brush work! Really nice transition between colors and good shading. How long it took you to complete the model? Are you avoiding airbrush for some reason or simply don't have it or don't like it? Thanks :) It took ages to be fair, hard to judge as I was painting it over a couple of months...

Shock horror!! I used to love WD back in the old days when it was about the hobby. Still have loads of copies from the 90's. Re: What do you think is better - WH:8th Ed or WFB:T9A?

Yet to try 9th When GW killed 8th I put my Elves away for a year to try some historical gaming (which I've thoroughly enjoyed) and now i've been coaxed back into WFB I'm still playing 8th as there's still a decent sized group of people at my local club who play it. I may well suggest to them at some...

Thanks Gandalf. :) That's an interesting Spear block. So you've got metal 4th edition command, flanked by 6th edition plastics? Then most of the unit seems to be plastic 4th edition but one or two models aren't? Close ;-) If the command are metal 4th edition then so are the other older spearmen (Me...
