Re: Home page bad links
Apologies for the threadomancy, but as the homepage/portal page has now gone, and all we have is the index page, I wanted to ask if anyone remembers what Hammer and Anvil and Machiara's Battle Glade were for? I know The Pyramid Vault was for the Lizardmen; was Machiara's for the Asrai...?

Re: ULTHUAN GETS A MAKEOVER
Much appreciated! I hope the forum really gets going again, I'm not much a fan of using Facebook, and forums are great for making army blogs, bat reps etc. Agreed! I had another person say on Facebook - at least I think it was Facebook - that forums were outdated; does anyone agree, or is that just...

Re: Upgrading the forum
I'll prepare a migration to phpBB 3.2. I've just done the experiment on Dnet, and I can get it to work. This is a solid short term solution that doesn't exclude any long(er) term options. For Discourse, my main concern is cost. Full disclosure: Right now, the hosting cost is 20$/mo to host 4 sites:...

Re: WarSeer down.....?
Me learned friends suggest server issues for Warseer, which even as you ... read are being worked on, and should -- assuming the machine spirits are suitably appeased -- see the site back in operation this weekend. That meant last weekend, it is down for more than a week already. It looks like they...

Well, at least they weren't attacked; it's just that some guy on WarSeer had his website attacked because f-ing Anonymous got his Ancients site mixed up with a site for supporters of the ISIL/ISIS terrorist group, when all it was was probably a reference to the Goddess Isis in connection with ancien...

Yes, it is. To be frank, I'm not going to bother with AoS. I will always play 6th, 7th or 8th where possible.Mantriel wrote:Well now that "9ed" is out I will probably stick to this list.

Re: Baptism of Fire
Specialist Shooting I'd written the Scouts into my list to deal with Regen, mainly because of a hair-raising encounter with Chimaeras at the Pompey Pillage. But I ended up facing only Throgg's Trolls in game two and even at M6, there were faster targets that stopped me focusing fire there. I like t...

I don't think Neferata sired Abhorash. She offered her Elixer of Life to eleven (iirc) nobles of Lahmia, Abhorash was its greatest warrior/soldier and quite dashing if memory serves me correct.. Neferata had a thing for him too iirc. He doesn't have her blood in the same way as the Bloodkiss...

Re: Who are the Mortarchs? [Spoilers for Nagash]
From what I remember, mainly from White Dwarf around the time of the 6 Ed. Undead book, Aborash was the vampire who cured himself of his thirst by drinking dragon's blood. "His greatest disciple, Walach Harkon, founded the Blood Dragons, who range far and wide from their home in Blood Keep"...

Hi all! I just wanted to ask what you all thought of the new version of the Lore of HM? Do you miss spells like 'Curse of Arrow Attraction' and 'Vaul's Unmaking'? there are some savvy ways to do deal with cannons but its annoying spending 3 turns just keep flying characters alive. @csjarrat: Yeah, O.K. I take your point. Generally though, a lot of my games are 'closed list' games, so it's not always certain I will take the VHS anyway. Furthermore, I usually write three different variant lists at each point level I write lists for. Call this dumb if you want, but I often plac...

Re: 1500 pts Empire lists - comments needed
Some good points there. Why do you dislike VHS so much? It's not much more than it was in the old book, and can be a nasty surprise. I wouldn't take it on a wizard lord though, unless I combined with a talisman of pereservation, and was ridiculously lucky at rolling 4+'s. Good point, about spending ...

1500 pts Empire lists - comments needed
Hey guys. These are supposed to be relatively balanced lists, but due to my collection and the higher points costs of infantry in the new book, there may be a slight imbalance towards missile troops and/or warmachines, or possibly cavalry depending on the other units in the list and how the points w...
