Re: RE.Lee's "Record of Lost Colonies"
Thanks guys! It was a very fun battle with the two "general vs top wizard" duels being highlights. We picked 5th edition because I brought my Warhammer Magic box from my parents' house and wanted to give it a spin! Ah, the memories of playing Escape, Total Power, Drain Magic... Paint...

Re: How to protect/hide from/reduce the impact of Cannnons
Hi!
1) Having 3 different targets already helps.
2) Using cover, obstacles especially, is obviously a good idea.
3) Facing sideways is also a useful trick - the monster base is, after all, twice as long as it is wide.
Best of luck!

Thanks! [yiss, yiss, they expect nothing...] Though I did spot some unpainted empire hand canoneers (?) in there. So you've got some more painting to do ;) I actually forgot my (painted) ones so I had to burrow a unit from my cousin  The Empire has some 15 swordsmen left to do and that's it :D

Its been a while! Not dead, and quite healthy but I started playing the piano to keep sane through the pandemic so that takes up a lot of time :) My cousin moved into the neighbourhood and we revisited some classic clashes: 5th edition HE vs DE https://i.imgur.com/18UuC1Ul.jpg 5th edition Skaven vs ...

Re: Open Day new Teclis and new Elves teaser
Oh, this one I really like! Nothing over the top and HE were lacking some good female models.
The whole preview was very good, I think: the snotlings, the giants, the Warcry Dark Elves. I put a preorder on the Sister of Battle - had great fun painting Amelia, and this one looks just as nice.

Re: RE.Lee's "Record of Lost Colonies"
@Elithmar - so true! I just love crimson and beige, I guess. I try to go for different colours for different armies - empire is primarily blue, Skaven were supposed to be green, but after a while I just switch to my favourite combinations. Call it muscle memory  The white on Eltharion's ...

Also, there's something about the hammers that looks artificial. Don't know, but the round shape just looks off somehow. Its because they look like Pringles tubes. The battle-cows are audacious sculpts, though hardly to my taste. The infantry bodies are nice - cutting off the tops of helmets and re...

Re: RE.Lee's "Record of Lost Colonies"
Yeah, with O&G you sometime have to act too fast to really use any protection and a lot of the consults are rather hard to do by phone. Wishing you wife all the best! Meanwhile, some more stuff. I added a few layers of paint to my older HE minis, including the unfortunately-no-longer-canonical E...

Re: Warhammer: The Old World
I'm mostly looking forward to any new models - the ones for Warcry, Underworlds have been really great, but I miss regular human models in that range.
I'd likely do a campaign with my 4-year old, so narrative all the way.

Re: Warhammer: The Old World
Something to look forward to!
BTW, I'm looking at Warcry (nice boards and terrain) and keep thinking how they should just redo Mordheim... That would be a much safer return to the Old World for them, also.

Re: RE.Lee's "Record of Lost Colonies"
The pestilence models are starting to look amazing. I'm looking forward to seeing them in action. And they might put up a better showing than clan Skyre. I'm wondering if you could have done anything different in your battle. It went from bad to worse very fast. And you lacked mobility to change a ...

Rough start indeed! Turn 2: Clanrats attack and chop the Fell Bats to pieces. I concentrate firepower on the Graveguards, looking to break through. I kill some 16, which is something, but its only by the end of the turn that I realize I forgot to launch the Doomrocket! Curses! https://i.imgur.com/DH...
