Re: X-wing blog
Nice blog Jimmy. I'll have to give it a more focused read tomorrow. I actually spent this evening opening my new X-Wing base set along with the Most Wanted, Slave I, IG-2000, Y-Wing and HWK-290 expansions. I'm looking forward to playing my fist game with my models and using the new faction ships on ...

Now the Lizardmen can evolve into Nids so there is a "compatible" counter the Space Marine like army that has been rumored! /s

I voted Dark Elves due to both our army and theirs getting new books in the last year and a half. Skaven is always good too as I have never managed a win in a full sized game against them.

Very nice! I'm interested in how you will fill the gaps on the diving phoenix. It should look very nice once painted.

I tried to get the Frostheart finished while the site was down, but I got distracted by the Flamespyre... so I'll add him to my pledge as well. http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc246/Rychek426/Warhammer/IMG_4499_zps5b971482.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc246/Rychek426/Warhammer/IMG_4498_...

No. I haven't painted any color, other than a white base coat on the Flamespyre, with the air brush. The Frostheart was done with traditional brushes as well.Nicene wrote:Is that airbrush on the phoenix?

Re: War Host of Nowhere in Particular (Rychek's Army)
I started working on my Flamespyre today. I started with a white/gray primer then airbrushed the whole thing white with Vallejo air brush paint. I then washed the whole bird with red, then orange then yellow (all Anita's brand craft paints). So far I'm pretty pleased with how it is turning out. It i...

It looks like you are off to a good start with those Lothern Sea Guard. Don't focus too much on how much you have left to paint though. Doing that may deter you (I've not painted in over fourteen months due to this very thing). Keep up the good work and update frequently!

Re: Should I try an orcs & gobins army?
Go for it. OnG can be a lot of fun; as long as you account for Animosity. Don't get too set on any one course of action, stay flexible, and enjoy the ride. If the army is no cost to use, what have you got to lose?

Re: Transport Bags - Which one?
I have the GW large army carrier/briefcase looking thing as well as two army transport bags. I use neither brand. I've magnetized my models and trays so I can stick them to a $1 cookie sheet (from the dollar store) and go. This method doesn't work if you are flying to a tournament, but it sure works...

As one who has a hard time standing for very long (back issues), I absolutely love the "sittability" of the table. I'm also glad to see the filthy gluttons get their flabby butts kicked. Ogres losing is always a good thing.

Re: DE release day, what are you doing?
I'm getting the book and cards even though I don't have a DE army anymore. I figure I can use my HE as proxies if I want to field DE. My group won't mind and reading the book will give me something to do while I wait for my next gaming opportunity to arrive.
