Is there a summary of how I can play HE in AoS 3.0?

Looking at playing a few games of this with a friend. Just trying to figure out how to use my models. Googling helps a bit but I remember this community being pretty stellar. From what I can tell * A bunch of it is now in Lumineth * Alarielle is a wood elf now * Her hand maidens and a bunch of rando...

Re: OnePageRules plays like Warhammer 8th, you should try it

Well after realizing there was no option for a warrior-mage unit in the High Elf roster for this book I posted on the forum. Within a week the creator had updated with an option that essentially allows loremasters and dragonmages.

So the support is really solid. I'll try to post a battle report soon.

OnePageRules plays like Warhammer 8th, you should try it

One page rules does what it says on the tin. It's a free ruleset you can use your warhammer minis with that fits on a page (double sided). Rules Army Lists Longer-form rulebook with more depth I played a lot less Warhammer when Age of Sigmar launched. Like many others I enjoyed it, thought it was a ...

Excellent Army List Builder 2.0

I've created a sleek Excel-based Armylist builder Edit : Updated to 2.0 (HE and O&G, compatible with older excel versions) Warhammer is evolving, army catalogs and points are updated constantly. It's a pain to modify conventional army builders, but editing Excel files is easy and intuitive. Thi...

Re: WFB: Reworked and Rebalanced

Hi Furion, a few things. You should add a link to this project in your signature. Moranion's Wayshard specifies model on foot only, but does not specify that the character may not join cavalry units. Is the intent to allow a character to give cavalry the ambusher rule (although the character will re...

Re: ETC 2015

I think the main problem with taking a look at average scores to decide where an army stands is that these aren't random matchups, teams choose who to send where. Like SwordMaster says, you might have a player who you intentionally send against tougher matchups because of how their list works. This ...

Re: Warhammer 9th edition?!

I'd also change the unit type of the corpse cart away from Chariot, that way it could march and it matches the fluff better, no way would a corpse cart be causing impact hits being pulled by some shambling zombies. Terrorgheist - 265pts is removing it from the game imo, it's points are fine, just r...

There are more updates to respond to feedback. They're releasing it in parts. A main book updates 8e to 9e with a few changes. A balance patch updates rules/points for armies that don't have a new book yet. A magic lore book replaces the spells for the book lores. They also plan to release individua...

They updated. BotWD is back to 50pts, so our infantry can use it again.

Spears are going to give KB against charging cav. Shield parry saves are being increased to 5++. Both should make the oft-rejected infantry options of most races much more usable.

All of these things are for debate on the forum btw. Feel free to participate. KoW is fun, but isn't warhammer. It'd be nice to have an game that played like warhammer but got attention and regular updates.

Re: Fan 9e is looking pretty good.

Lol, well, it's an aplha. HE has been doing pretty well at tournies, and I don't think they're done every race. The 135 degree charge arc is pretty weird. Missed taht at first, almost wonder if it is a typo no that I've seen it. EDIT : The arc is still 90 degrees as per the image, it's just written ...

Re: What does AoS mean for WHFB?

8th stale? I found that in tournies the rosters I see online seem to change year to year. ETC for example. But maybe that is just because of changes in comp. Anyways, there has to be a better way to keep the meta interesting other than 'each new edition makes some units broken and some unplayable'. ...

I don't think it's crazy to say it's a good game. the main complaint is that it's simply not Warhammer anymore, not that it's bad.

I guess Canada doesn't have any because we are basically Naggaroth. It would be awkward, most Asur in the area are just raiding our shipyards and looking out for Druchii on polar bear mounts.

What does AoS mean for WHFB?

We've been discussing this topic everywhere. It might be prudent to discuss the direction GW/WHFB is taking here rather than spamming someone's battle report or rules discussion threads with how we think GW hates their fans :P. I'll start by posting a vid by Malorian discussing the new game. Canadia...

Who cares about the wounds. 12 wounds of clan rats is not the same as 12 from a Dragon. And that's exactly why those attempts at "balance" will fail. Maybe someone will come up with something that works, but I don't understand the lengths people are willing to go to support a company that...

It seems that the swordmasters have more survivability than the white lions in the shooting phase. And clan rats will tear either the shreds. Competitive tournies will be hard, I think, with 360 line of sight. All the subtlety of the move phase is gone. This just seems like fire-and-forget-fun with a few strategic decisions of medium importance tossed in.

I mean, I'll still play warhammer. But this game looks fun. I can play 40k without buying 40k models. Yay. Edit* Also the balance looks nice. Just a bunch of models that hit each other and wound on X. Like kings of war. Very little of this 1+ re-rollable save with a 3+ ward crap. Characters seem to ...

Re: 9th Edition rumours

So people are mentioning that the game could be good, but if we wanted to play something different than WHFB, we'd have bought something different. I'm in this camp. It is curious how one sees similarities to Dungeons and Dragons again. 4th ed was their worst performance financially. They lost a lot...
